  1. He's got one eye on the final already.
  2. Easy peasy Lennon squeezy.
  3. The suspense is killing me. Not the semi-final draw, I'm waiting to see if my Take that ticket application goes through.
  4. Cheers for that, I couldn't quite get my head round it.
  5. Aberdeen * 21 Howard * 02 McArdle * 05 Diamond * 16 Ifil * 42 Robertson * 08 Hartley * 11 Aluko * 22 Jack * 07 Maguire * 09 Vernon * 10 Mackie Just out of interest stoney, which 6 would be dropped and who would take their place? I'm not being arsey or anything, just interested to know what you think our strongest 11 would be. I think I can see 4 possible changes / improvements in that team.
  6. It might be soft but there's a semi on the way.
  7. His opinions are based on facts which are hard to argue with, but while the rest of us try to look for positives in Maguire's future, Stoney prefers to dwell on the negatives of his past form.
  8. Wise man. One of the side effects of too much ahagging is bandy legs.
  9. He's already shown enough to earn a new contract in my opinion. Make sure it's a basic contract which is fluffed up with lucrative incentives for goals and good performances. And put in a good percentage of any future sell-on fee for Aberdeen, just in case. Simple.
  10. Would the club fork out another fortune to sack another management team to appease the same retards that wanted the last management team sacked, and further reduce an already practically not-existent transfer budget? Well, yes, they would. But personally I think we need to calm the fuck down and hope Mark McGhee turns this around. I know there's no such thing as a team that's 'too good to go down', but I think the squad still has potential despite the obvious lack of Full backs. I hope this story is bollocks.
  11. I only want Derek Adams if LondonScottish says he wants Derek Adams.
  12. That was as bad as it gets I think, fair enough coming away with a point would have been a good result - but not playing like that. Even the Huns in Manchester were better than that, at least they had an out ball in Miller and Naismith. Watched it with my kids, and if they're anything to go by we'll have a nation of uninspired children heading off to their boys club matches this weekend. In terms of qualifying it was a disaster. In terms of entertainment for the thousands of travelling Scotland fans it was a disaster. In terms of our image and standing in the world game it was a disaster. Pished aff.
  13. Unfortunately some of our fans would probably rather organise a protest to get the loon transferred, due to impatience and unrealistic expectations. Sound familiar?

Where the fuck is he? When the fuck will we see him? What the fuck's going on? Who the fuck sanctioned this deal? Shambles.
  15. Mate I'm not saying he's beyond criticism, he's made a fucking pigs ear of it in terms of the full back situation in particular. What I am saying is we're no worse than most the other non-OF sides, and could still find ourselves in Europe at the end of this season. Seems unlikely tonight, but stranger things have happened. But sacking him will do no good. Same as sacking Jimmy Calderwood did no good.
  16. I don't really understand this, McGhee's biggest failing last season was his lack of quality signings. But he seems to have done better on that front this season, and if it wasn't for the crippling financial constraints (ie ridiculously small squad) we'd be doing ok. We all knew that this squad could barely cope with any injuries - we've suffered several to some of our brightest talents. The reality is the spl is a level playing field from third down, we'll win games and we'll lose games. Today we lost a tricky away match at Inverness and we're all pissed off about it, but let's not get all menstrual about it and start protesting about managers again. I suffered last season and hated most of it, I was a Jimmy fan after all, but I see plenty to be positive about again this season. Stick with it lads, better times ahead.
  17. Miller was more like Puyol than Rougvie, is the the point I was making in reply to Ptayles post. There are no modern players that compare to Rougvie, none that I can think of anyway. He was quite unique. The Giggs/Weir comparison I agree with, but I think Weir's crossing was more like Beckhams, he was also the first player I saw scoring direct from a free kick, which is obviously Beckham's trade mark.
  18. I'd say Willie Miller was more like Puyol. And Mcleish was a far better/more effective player than Vidic IMO opinion. Neil Simpson = Roy Keane Peter Weir = David Beckham Gordon Strachan = Messi
  19. Don't worry about him BB, he's got more teeth than he has brain cells. Maguire could still go either way, bags of potential and flashes of real quality, cancelled out by spells of anonymity and mediocrity. But he's growing in confidence, strength and stature, and he's now a much better player than the one who once triggered me to say "Please don't tell me we're pinning our hopes on this kid." Credit to him for chasing back and getting a foot in today, he's got some fight in him which I want to see more of. Shame on stoney for his anti Maguire agenda, which I'd happily see less of.
  20. fuckin hun minks
  21. Good to have you back btr.
  22. Raith looked good, they really should have been out of sight long before we equalised, even in the dying minutes they had a couple of decent chances. They worked hard, fought hard, kept it simple, and Tade was very dangerous down the right all night. Young and Mackie missed absolute sitters, both missing the target from inside the box with only the keeper to beat. However Young did create the winning goal, and Mackie put in a decent shift when he came on. As edinburghdon said we looked more dangerous with Mackie through the middle and Maguire out on the right. Hartley's injury occurred while chasing back after Young gave the ball away. Disagree with the "Vernon seems t be the type of player that offers very little except goals" comment, I thought he held the ball up well and worked hard all night. Like Lee Miller but with a much better work ethic, he looks like a very decent signing to me. Most important thing is we're through, but there's plenty to work on.
  23. Freudian mate.
  24. I'm in the south stand and to be fair their 2nd looked iffy. Ifil should have dealt with it but he was pushed. Langfield's a joke, kicking awful and fucked up for the first.
  25. We should probably give it 24 hours before bumping up the 'Let's all laugh at Hearts' thread.
