  1. Wolfsburg 1 nil up on Man Utd. Its been a shite game so far.
  2. I think it's a bit of a melodramatic piece, bordering on the paranoia of that shown by Celtic fans. There are grains of truth in the article but I think it's more the fact that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and that the OF are more vocal in their objections to the SFA or against other clubs than we or other clubs are. If anyone at AFC were to make a complaint against Lee McCulloch, as the manager of the club I'd expect it to be Mark McGhee. He didn't, and we move on and accept it as part of football. I don't think the SFA or SPL favour the OF, just that they are a rather top heavy, incompetent and largely ineffective organisation.
  3. Its the amount of feet Nacho Novo's effort on goal was above the bar.
  4. I didn't even mention McGhee. Why do you have to keep bringing this up? Its like you have an agenda.
  5. £10 a goal - thats quite good value for money entertainment wise.
  6. We must be shite if we can only muster a goal-less draw against these losers.
  7. Get in. Scores going well so far tonight.
  8. Amount of SPL appearances for Darren Mackie? Must be close to that number?
  9. Average amount of touches Darren Mackie takes to control a ball.
  10. Is it the number of people who were at the JMG protest if you add 224?
  11. The decrease in amount of season tickets sold this season?
  12. It was a break down in communication though. McGhee admitted as much himself. The fact that he returned to Aberdeen to go through with a medical shows his respect for his manager and the club.
  13. I take encouragement from it. Its certainly a solid platform from which to build, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. We have some big games coming up against our rivals for the european places and they've looked a lot more credible in front of goal than we have. Poor results against these teams and our clean sheet record isn't going to help us any. One particular season under JC, we had the 2nd best defence in the league but missed out on europe because of to many draws. McGhee needs to ensure we don't fall into a similar situation. We've made steady progress from the start of the season but as already mentioned we need to temper the optimism with some reality as from the performances I've seen there are going to be more slip-ups along the same lines as the cup exit.
  14. Yes. It was mentioned by many on here that European run covered up a lot of deficiencies in our team.
  15. This result is being heralded in the P&J as some sort of 'answer to the critics' from the cup exit at Dundee. There is a long way to go before we can take any sort of comfort from that, and a good performance in a 0-0 against a shit rangers team is little consolation to being humiliated by lower league opposition yet again. What it is, is a starting point to move on for the rest of the season - with some decent performances from our younger players. I'll take more confidence in our chances at success this season if we can deliver the results in matches with 3Pts against the likes of StMirren and Kilmarnock rather than a spirited 1pt against rangers. Consistency is the key.
  16. He travels from Sydney to Tokyo using as many forms of transport as possible...its usually quite entertaining and he's a funny guy. Charlie Boorman travelled with Ewan MacGregor on Long Way Round etc.
  17. Will be watching Charlie Boorman's new 'By Any Means..' series at 9pm on BBC2 tonight.
  18. AFC Guide to Post Humiliating Cup Exit 2. Pledge victory against next opposition. Check. In all seriousness though, good on the lad for wanting to get wired in. Lets hope the rest of the team are of the same mindset and that we're not just going through the motions as we have done in previous seasons.
  19. JC Guide to Post Humiliating Cup Exit [*]1. Issue warning to players and reassure fans. Check.
  20. Awarding JC / JN & SC an extended 3 year contract may have been the wrong decision with the aid of hindsight, however I don't see the sense in compounding that mistake by paying them off and replacing with a manager who hasn't been supported to effect the changes to the team that are required to make it worth that gamble. I don't think anyone here takes pleasure in seeing McGhee's team get knocked out of the cup at this stage but I think we have to take the long term view that 1 season is not enough to implement wholesale change. With that, I can agree with Stoney. (The rest of his fishing attempts that everything is rosy is pish though - and shows him up for the clown that he is) However the football played and decisions made that we've had from McGhee's tenure so far is utterly shite: Captain selection Ability to scout and sign quality players Man-management of both staff and players Tactical buffoonery Lacking motivational skills I really hope he has something up his sleeve, because 'youth players' as some sort of magic cure for all our problems just doesn't cut it for me.
  21. I like the cat rolling the watermelon out of the water one.
  22. What 'Muslim ' countries have you been to and what exactly have you been forced to do?
  23. Watched this on C4 last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efs2zdQp0RE/youtube]
