  1. I started watching it but switched over to Chelsea Man U simply cos I'd never heard of half the players. Shame how their league cup has been so devalued by playing second strings. At least we got all the goals during the boring match I did end up watching before switching back for the pens. The quality of the goals was amazing. Lampard and OGS at least played most of their best players.

Klopp is clearly not interested in the domestic cup competitions. I can see why Liverpool put all their eggs in the league basket but as promising as some of their kids are they're not good enough to win the competition so it might well bite him on the arse like it very nearly did last season. Although part of this might be that the Club World Cup is coming up and an EFL quarter final is so low on the priorities list that it's the last thing they want.

It was some game though. Some shite defending/goalkeeping and some brilliant strikes. The penalties were of high quality also.  Neco Williams and Curtis Jones looks like some prospects.

  2. ANyone who witnessed that car crash of a performance on Sunday has the right to be pissed off, seriously pissed off. I know for one I still am. I can take a defeat anytime, but the manner of Sundays performance was frightening. ANyone who says otherwise or tries to defend it must be taking the piss or are employed by the club.

I remember the really bad old days well, but what I saw on Sunday was as bad as anything we saw in the really bad years and this is under a manager that is supposed to be our messiah.

A lad I work with said today getting rid of McInnes is a bad idea because of what we had before him and with that I fear we have one person who is bigger than the club if that is the mindset of our support.

We have a manager who looks like he doesn't want to be here anymore and I am afraid that if some action is not taken soon we may find ourselves back in yearly relegation battles and celebrating a top 6 finish as an achievement.

Very good post. What happened before is irrelevant anyway. But make no mistake about it; we're heading back there fast. I was lucky that I wasn't at the 9-0 but I wasn't lucky enough to miss Sunday and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that I've never seen a poorer, more pathetic performance from us.

  3. Is Gary ONeil another holding mid? No to Mulumbu. This reeks of panic. We can survive against all bar the old firm with what we have, if we sign a midfielder it must be a creative #10. As so many have said endlessly, including myself, that’s what we seriously need. Anything else is desperation. We have Ferguson and Campbell healthy, plus Bryson, and Vyner and Leigh, get a creative spark or we continue to die a slow death.

Did you nae see the Celtic game? Panic would be an underreaction.

  4. Taking a gamble on getting up this season. Probably will work. They'll sell Shankland at some point for £2million or so and wipe out any deficit. Just doing what sevco are doing but on a smaller scale

But unlike Sevco Dundee United don't have 50,000 unwashed paying through their gates 20 times a season.

  5. I think the insipid performance yesterday will be a tipping point for a lot of undecideds but I don't think it will make a difference 2bh.  He's milnes man, too expensive to sack and he's good enough to get us into Europe again.

Is he?  ??? I'd be amazed if we qualified for Europe next season. There's little point anyway since our pathetic passive pussy tactics will see is papped out post haste by bang average shite.  ::)

  6. I have not been impressed with VAR at all.

No but I do think the idea is sound and the technology is sound but the logic and the human decision-making has ruined it. You'd think they were attempting to sabotage it.

  7. Harry Kane is a diving cunt. Zero comment or acknowledgement from English commentators. Not even "He's been clever there" like when they branded Sadio Mane a diver against Leicester the other week.

Also VAR is being used by neanderthals which is ruining games. The VAR system only works if you don't let retards officiate it. It cost Arsenal so it's obviously funny that aside they need to sort out how they use it.

  8. Missed opportunity imo, I ever get a Yoon party coming to my door they will be getting invited in whilst I pose as a floating voter.  Waste as much of the cunts time as you can because it could stop them influencing someone else.

Have you taken into account the toll on your personal well-being that listening to their bullshit and lies will have?

  9. Both won gold medals in the world athletics championships.

It wasn't career ending surgery, If it had been his career would have been ended.....

and he wasn't even the first to come back from it. A Yank doubles player....his name escapes me but he has Grand Slams on his CV......came back from it.

I think it is great Murray has come back....but his win was in a minor tournament where most of the really top players gave it a miss. I would suggest winning a World Championship gold.....the first one won the 200 metres the second won the decathlon......are altogether bigger achievements

It was, aye. It was unprecedented. No one had ever had that surgery and returned to singles let alone won ATP titles.

Frankie Dettori and Ben Stokes can both gtf. Those two athletes that I don't know will be more deserving than these two.

  10. If the UK government refuse us a referendum, Sturgeon will just make a Scottish law in Holyrood to hold one anyway. Of course it will hold no status under UK law as it stands....but if it is held and there is a majority for independence, would the Uk government really stop us seceding?

Sturgeon has made it very clear time and time again that she won't do this. Looks where it got Catalonia.

For what it's worth I'm not convinced it is quite the right time. In general, folk over 65 are against independence for many reasons, not least having grown up with and lived through times where the NHS was created (or was a very new creation), a welfare state that in its early years worked as it was designed to do and nationalised industries that provided steady secure jobs. That generation will never vote anything other than to stay in the union. But they are slowly dying off. And being replaced by 16 year olds who are altogether far more open to the prospect of independence. So I'd rather hold off another 5 years or so by which time the UK hopefully will have exited the EU and Scotland can see just what a disaster that has been.

If we hold it next year I think we would lose  along the lines of 52% to 48%. And then we really cannot have another one for a full generation.

I think you're probably right in that Yes would lose again. But didn't the SNP vote to drastically increase the state pension in the event of Indy? That might talk some of the fossils round.

As an aside I wish to fuck everyone would stop using the term "once in a generation". The political landscape has rarely changed so much and so quickly than it has in recent years and using a term like "once in a generation" just isn't a promise that should be made or necessarily kept. It's used by those who are fucking terrified of losing the status quo.

  11. Good on the guy. Winning the antwerp masters yesterday. I would absolutely love it if he could get back to challenging the majors. I'd happily eat some humble pie as I genuinely didn't think he'd be able to get back to playing, let alone winning a tournament.

Agreed Manc. I didn't think he'd be back competitively. He beat some very handy players this week (and in the last few at other tournaments also) and Wawrkinka is a proper player. 3 grand slams to his name (despite never quite being as good as Murray IMO) but had he been 10 years or so older (and therefore been around just before Djokovic, Nadal and Federer all came on the go) he'd have won many more I'm sure. The Australian Open is the one that got away and whilst I can't help but feel it will continue to evade him it could be argued that none of Djokovic, Nadal or Federer quite look as invincible as they used to. And the up and comers like Medvedev, Thiem, Zverev and Tsitsipas just aren't (yet anyway) in the same league as the "big 4" as the UK press liked to call them. Andy looked out of it against Wawrinka and at at least 2 stages in the previous rounds too but he has a unique ability to grind down opponents and to be honest I thought the Stan would be above it all. Andy's mental toughness frightens even the best players and we can all see why.

Because I doubted that Andy would be able to compete at the top level again I'll admit I didn't even want him to try. The thought of seeing half the Andy Murray we used to see get hidings off of players who are no better than decent didn't appeal one bit. But if there's one cunt that can prove everyone (me) wrong against and again it's Andy and he's done it. It's just what he does.

The way he went out at Australia last year was typical Murray. Clearly injured and in bad nick but fucking scrapping like there's no tomorrow because when it came to his tennis career it looked like there'd be no tomorrow. He went out very fittingly and had he left it at that no one would have questioned it and his career would've been labelled a massive success.

  12. you telling us there are no youth midfielders ?

None that are better than our defenders out of position apparently, yes. And I include Dean Campbell. I don't doubt he loves the club etc etc but he's not close to being good enough yet and in my opinion it looks like he never will be. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

  13. I have no idea really. Do you have an opinion on this?

What should have happened a long time ago is that our MP's should have delivered the will of the people. We didn't vote on a deal. We voted to get the fuck away from the EU.

What I think will happen is that Parliament will vote tomorrow to reject the deal. That would mean an extension and yet more guff and nonsense. It's a shambles. Cameron never thought the people would vote leave. Emboldened by his ability to convince the Scots to stay, he thought the whole of England would do what he told them to and remain.

Of course I have an opinion.

We voted Leave on the basis of a "great deal" We'd get "a great deal because they need us more than we need them". We were lied to over and over and over again. Of course the sentient amongst us recognised this. We did not vote for a hard Brexit.

I'm of the opinion that hurting the pride of the Brexiters on all levels is of little importance and that we should extend the Brexit date until such times as we're ready for it (or as ready as we can be). Boris said he'd rather be dead in a ditch than ask for an extension. Tough shit Boris. If we need one we'll ask for one weather it hurts your stupid pride or not.

I have a sneaky feeling he'll get this deal through parliament though. It might cost a few more billion to sweeten the DUP though. But Boris is clearly looking for a Brexit at any fucking cost as shown by the deal he's "miraculously negotiated" being worse than the one that that useless cunt Theresa May organised.

FWIW the Scots convinced themselves to stay. Stupid cunts.

  14. It's all down to our "democratically-elected" MP's now, following the sickening charade Boris and Juncker put on.

    It ain't gonna happen.

Message to the bankers; you shouldn't gamble in speculative punts with other people's money.

Message to the bureaucrats; get yersel a decent job.

Message to the people; wake the fuck up you fucking thick cunts.

What, in your opinion, should now happen, Rocket? And what do you think will happen?

  15. He's a wanker. Literally. He admits to wanking off an Indian male cementer on one of his jolly oil trips. They were two men and two women in the bed at the time. Rocket the Nelliephant never forgets.

Insensitive too as his modus operandi is to deliberately offend. Always has been. I used to find that amusing but after a while, the sickness he displays gets too ugly to view.

Could easily be wrong of course but it sounds made up to me. Typical of the shite that's spouted on Hat. Bunch of overgrown kids trying to top each others' attempts to show how mental and edgy they are. Very very tiresome IMO and not what I want DT to become.

Agreed. Which is why he'll be banned very soon.

  16. Josh Magennis!!

For all the flack he got when playing in red you have to give him (and Northern Ireland) credit.

Give them credit if you like. Only caught the second half but they were completely outplayed as one would probably expect. But the commentators just about greeting into their microphones because Holland "didn't deserve to win" just because NI were resolute for 75 minutes were embarrassing and factually incorrect.

  17. Main and Wilson being shite is a separate issue. Shankland isn't the answer. And I say that fully aware that there's a likelihood that he's developed somewhat since leaving us. Shankland was not and is still not good enough for us. Getting a borderline offside goal against San Marino is the worst Scottish national side era of all time changes nothing.

  18. Two of my daughters went on Sunday. One liked it, one didn't. I'll wait to see the pirate copy my neighbour brings (of every film) every month when he's home from oil shit.

The one who liked it is correct.

  19. Horrible thought of them cunts winning the league but have to admit that it is certainly a serious possibilty this season. I'd still prefer that sevco and their mutant following remain on precisely 0 major trophies forever but it seems like spending cash they don't have is going to pay dividends as it did for oldco ana

Not convinced this is the case. We seem to forget that they get the giros of 50,000 unwashed 18 times a season.

  20. I forgot to mention towards the end of the game on Saturday when the scores were level, that Hibs had just had a chance, but Joe saved us and then McKenna was telling him to hold off playing the ball and just to keep it. Joe told McKenna to get his arse up the field and try and get a winner.

It was in injury time, but I liked that from Joe. Gets a bit of stick for being the Captain, but I thought that spoke volumes about his attitude.

I feel this stick is (or should be) aimed more at McInnes for making him the captain. I doubt many (if any) believe that Joe's personality rather than the position he plays in prevents him from being the ideal captain.
