  1. Vintage Scotland. Even when our opponents are banned we still find a way to not qualify. Reminds me of the RWC in Japan. We were at risk of getting knocked out at the hands of a cancelled game and we huffed and puffed about it. The game eventually goes ahead but we still manage to see our way to getting papped oot. Even when the number of teams at tournaments is increased we'll still find a way to not qualify because we're failures and it's what we do.  :hammer:

  2. If there's one team that could still fuck it up from here it's Liverpool. I wouldn't have bet on Leicester being the best of the rest at this stage. Liverpool have a lot of irons in the fire so it'll all come down to Klopp's management. They only have one fit senior central defender too so the depth of the squad will come under scrutiny too. The depth of City's squad hasn't helped them. They lost Laporte earlier in the season and the fact is that John Stones is in fact utterly dreadful and barely looks like a £5M player nevermind a £50M player.

  3. Just read the last two pages. Don’t know why some of you fuckers bother with it at all.

Well deserved, hard fought point against (as Derek McInnes rightly said) a VERY good hun team. Fans who bothered to go along responded brilliantly once the lads got back into the game and showed their character. Bonus point.

Roll on Saturday lunchtime so the negative rhetoric and DMC bashing can start all over again once he names his team.  ::)

Very good Hun team my fucking arse min. They have a couple of decent players aye but nothing to be shitting ourselves at in the manner in which we have in the first half of this game and every half of the last several games we've played against them (and other, arguably better teams too). Did you enjoy the 5-0 at Ibrox? Or the 4-0 training session we gave Celtic? I don't know why I fucking bothered.  ::) A draw the other night was a good result in hindsight but the arse licking session that you MIGers gave him in the aftermath was unwarranted as was painfully evident at Easter Road this weekend past.

  4. "Resurfacing" on Amazon Prime. Documentary about Andy Murray's journey back to professional tennis following two hip operations. Loved it. You don't have to like the guy (although I think it's a bit weird that some people don't) but you have to respect him.

  5. Got a good response from the travelling Dons, and a bit unlucky with that late header. Some bounce if it had gone in...bit of a damp squib in the end

Indeed it would have been. I had moments earlier vowed to enter the playing area had Consi scored a late winner. I never got the chance to put my money where my mouth is.

  6. A lot of people seem to have invented this thing about Mourinho being out of date and past his best but it was only four years ago that his team won the english league.  I don't think he is a spent force by no means and can see Spurs challenging for the league next year.  They were in the Champions League final just six months ago with Pochettino at the healm and Mourinho is a better manager than he will ever be.  Jose was laughed at for his work at Man Utd but last time I checked his successor was 18 points off the top after just 12 games so maybe his job there was not as bad as everyone made out.  Two trophies in two years is not all that bad. 9/1 for Spurs to win this years FA Cup is particularly tempting.

Foreign managers don't give a fuck about domestic cup competitions. 9/1 is shite. He turned Man Utd into a dreadful team to watch and the results weren't justifying the performances. He's lucky that OGS has made him look not as bad by being even more shite.

Mourinho might do well at Spurs but I can also see this being the first job he's taken where he'll win fuck all and be gone before too long.

  7. I agree with the Spurs part. However with England? They've got a fantastic group of youngsters starting to establish themselves in the international set up. With home advantage next year they might just have a decent shot at winning the European championship. My apathy with the international game, brought on by watching Scotland's 30 year decline into utter dross has also caused me to no longer even caring if England win, such has my ABE enthusiasm waned.

I live in fear of England winning but luckily they won't any time soon. They do have some good players. Most of them are vastly overrated by the Sky "Best League in the World" Sports brigade.

They don't have a decent goalkeeper. That wee ned prick Pickford isn't up to much.

TAA as a full back is class but he's in the minority.

Harry Maguire is hugely overrated. Man Utd panic-spunked £80m on him and he's not fit to lace the boots of a proper world class centre back. Same goes for John Stones. Both failing to impress at their respective Manchester clubs. Who else plays at CB? Jones? Smalling? Mings? Half decent players at best. Not sure who they'd have as the other full back. Rose is fucking shite but I don't think he gets picked anymore does he?

Midfield they have Divey Ali who's another vastly overrated player and has done fuck all for the past few years apart from moan and play Fortnite. Henderson's limitations are well-known although he's a decent player no doubt. He's in the same bracket as Oxlade Chamberlain in those terms. Who else is there? Declan Rice? ??? Barkley? Drinkwater? Excuse me whilst I shite myself.

Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane are the other two who you could argue are world class (certainly Raheem Sterling. What a player he is). No one else in the England setup stands out on the world stage for me and no one should be scared of them. Maddison has a lot of potential and there are others with potential like Mount and Abraham but in my opinion they're miles away from the likes of France or Germany. Odoi might be in this bracket too but I've never laid eyes on the cunt so how good could he be?

Let's not forget in the last world cup they had the easiest run to the final of all time and still fucked it up.

  8. Harry Kane's sickly tweet was revealing.

He was thanking his "Gaffer" for helping him "achieve his dreams" over the last 5.5 years.

I know 'Arry is pig shit thick and over-rated but fuck knows what he dreams about?

Last time I looked, he's never won fuck all.

Correct. He's achieved fuck all yet. I don't doubt that he will though. Assuming he's smart enough to move. He'll be the Spurs and England all time top scorer by some distance before too long but unless he moves he'll win fuck all with Spurs or with England.

  9. Let's face it.

Especially UEFA don't understand how the play offs are going to work.

    I thought Hungary were out.

They certainly deserve to be after that performance last night.

    Hajra Magyarol

Is that "McInnes oot" in Hungarian?

  10. Certainly being announced by the end of the month, was told it was a “monumental” change - wouldn’t be surprised if it was more than SM out and DC in.

Significant investment of some type was the jist I was getting.

More people falling over themselves to give us free money with no strings attached? Yas min. These people are so generous it doesn't half restore my faith in the good people of Aberdeen...  :-\

  11. The last thing I saw a week or two back was Official Secrets. Based on a true story about a whistleblower who was charged with a breach of the official secrets act. A really good film if a little depressing. Our society is corrupt to the core and many of us swallowed Tony Blair's lies so easily.

  12. If Labour got in on a majority by themselves (more chance of us signing Cristiano Ronaldo) they'd bankrupt the country in short order. Whacking extra taxes on the top 5% of earners just won't go far enough to cover all their madcap spending. Free internet for all actually seems one of their better ideas.....but I think most folk these days get their internet as part of a package along with their telephone and TV services. The private companies would take their pay off for the internet...….then within a few months at most just fire on an increase in costs to the customer for the remaining TV and phone service.

There is a small chance they could get in by forming a coalition with the SNP/Lib Dems/Plaid Cymru and various smaller parties/independents. Fuck that. Corbyn as Prime Minister is bad enough. Throw in Emily Thornberry as Foreign Secretary, Diane Abbot as Home Secretary (surely they wouldn't??) and Rebecca Fucking-Long-Fucking Bailey as anything other than sticking stamps on envelopes......just makes a Tory administration seem a relatively sensible option. But it seems the only way of getting Indyref 2 on the cards in a fairly short amount of time. So hold on to your noses and pray that Farage's ensemble of fuckwits split the Tory vote in Labour marginals down south.

Please to be explaining? ??? Is that not already the case? The Tories are well on their way to trebling the national debt and they've been in power circa 9 years during which we've seen nothing but austerity. Are we not being bankrupted already? Labour might have big spending plans but I'm pretty sure Javid announced some of the Tories' own too. At least Labour would be more likely to hold corporations to account for their dodgy tax avoiding practices. I'm no fan of Labour and for as long as I'm registered to vote in Scotland I'll never be able to vote for them (or any other unionist party) but when it comes down to a straight choice between the two not-so-great options of Boris and Jeremy it's a fucking no-brainer. I can't think of one single scenario of leadership or being the PM that I'd prefer Boris over Jeremy.

Even if it's just to get it up the brain dead idiots that bleat on about how he's "dangerous" or a "terrorist".  ::) ::)

  13. You've mistaken my "not being arsed enough to hate" with apathy. I don't need to hate individuals to understand the problems of society. I don't need to individualise them. It's a distraction. Hating Tony Blair? Why? Wanting him to go to prison? Why? To satiate my hate? I don't get it. He's part of a system. He acted as part of that system. I'm more interested in finding out if there is a better system. One day, the truth can come out about his actions and he can live with that. He can persecute himself, he doesn't need me to do it for him.

Similarly lauding Greta Thunberg. Stop pedestalling the girl FFS. Take what she says and analyse it and understand it just as you would any other. We're being tricked into deifying this girl so that when she makes a mistake - like all humans - they can rip up everything she's ever advocated and tell us it can't be true or trusted. I appreciate her message, but she could be anybody. We need to stop thinking we need individuals to lead us rather than ideas. Individuals are fallable and can be hated and blamed.

Is it self-centred or ignorant? Or time-constrained? Or not knowing where to begin? Or not seeing an alternative to grasp onto? It's difficult to exctricate yourself from a system that is all-consuming. Most of the time it takes money and freedom from work. Hence yer Extinction Rebellion folks being middle class and often retired (neither is a criticism; listen to their message). Again, it concentrates on the individual and hides any clear message of an alternative.

Exactly. You need hate to divide and conquer. You need hate of individuals.

The only people pedestalling her are the nuts foaming at the mouth desperate to discredit her and point-score. She's a child but she's speaking facts and backed up by some of the smartest people in the world. I don't believe any mistakes that she'll maybe or maybe not make at any point throughout her life will necessarily take away from her work highlighting the grave danger our environment is in. I don't think her very public speech (at the UN building a couple of months back? ???) was a particularly good idea nor did I think it was particularly good but that doesn't make her wrong and that's what's important. She's not telling me (and millions of others) anything that we didn't already know about how greed is fucking the environment but she's helping shine a light on it and because of the high number of aresholes on the planet we're in the unfortunate position where we really need that. I don't think there's anything wrong with appreciating that. In a way she's chosen martyrdom which she's bound to regret eventually (IMO) but that's a different issue.

I don't remember discussing corporal punishment in my post so when I read it back I could only deduce that that was in reference to what I said about kids not being smacked when they misbehaved. That's a fucking far cry from chopping off a thief's right hand or flogging an adulterer which are more synonymous with the term "corporal punishment". Kids don't get enough discipline and that very often turns them into shitty adults. Discipline doesn't have to be physical of course but it's needed in one form or another.

Rocket have you seen the movie "Official Secrets"? Out at the cinema in the last week or two and it revolves heavily around Tony Blair and his abhorrent lies. I'm not in favour of (proper) corporal or capitol punishment myself but I understand the temptation when it comes to cunts like him.

  14. I understand KFP. I dig your twig. I get your Montgomery (Clift > drift).

There was a thing on the news yesterday about how much abuse retail assistants get. The wifie in the petrol station gets insults and unpleasantness daily and the physical attacks on them, the public services - doctors, nurses, fire and police etc. - are increasing exponentially.

What the fuck is going on in our society? Where is the love?

The Bloods and the Crips and the KKK are the symptoms. The CIA and our governments are the drivers.

We're raising our kids with delusions of grandeur. They become over-grown kids who don't have the emotional stability to deal with any situations that doesn't go their way. They weren't smacked enough when they misbehaved. Probably sheltered too much. Maybe religious. It's all contributing to the horrible place that humans are turning the world into. I agree with KFP on that. It's horrible out there. Personally I have to focus on the (still plentiful) positives to stop myself from wanting to follow Ket Kyle over the ledge. What hurts the most is that we're finally at the stage where we're aware of widespread and top level (Government) corruption being rampant all over the Western and "developing" world and not only are we setting the precedent that it's OK but we'll actually fucking vote for it legitimately. Leads me to think of a quote from the musician/poet Scroobius Pip from the song "Get Better":

"Society seems unfazed that this is how it is while I'm constantly amazed that this is how it is!"

Admittedly he's not talking about corruption but another aspect of broken society but it's apt. We've all become apathetic to corruption and we're getting really good at doing what we're told and nothing more. It's a disgrace and I have real respect for anyone who is motivated enough to get off their arse and protest about issues that are important to them. The people getting battered by authorities in the streets of Catalonia and Hong Kong (and now Bolivia amongst other places I'm sure) as well as Greta Thunberg who gets a disgraceful amount of abuse from people who should fucking know better. Her crime? Waking people up to the greedy cunts selling out the environment that we all need to survive. Cunts cannot handle hearing it from a young female. Piers Morgan is one example. A man who'd I'd thoroughly enjoy booting the fuck out of despite being a lover rather than a hater myself generally.

I'm still waiting for Chaplin's speech from The Dictator to come true.  ::)

  15. What a pleasant surprise that was! I was gravely worried the whole time about England because they looked like the strongest team in the competition and had they not believed their own hype they'd have won the final too.

I didn't think they collectively refused to wear their medals? I did notice one or two of them take them off but I'd have probably done the same tbh.
