I'm going to give credit where it's due. I never expected us in a million years to go undefeated post split with the fixtures we had. We've never done it in the top six before and Deek has a poor post split record but we had it all to play for. After the crushing disappointment of surrendering in the Scottish cup it was vital that we secured 2nd spot. Finally managing to hurt Rangers and Celtic a little helped paper over the cracks of a frustrating season. It could have been so different. But the squad was poorer this season and Rangers' was stronger. With a strong Hibs in the mix too we've done well over all so credit to the players and management for that.

I'm claiming a moral victory anyway.

Ball was really good when he stuck to defending. His post split performances leave me feeling that he'd be a decent addition to the squad on a permanent basis. I wouldn't be promising him a starting berth though. If he wants that he'll have to fuck off. Fit aboot this Ferguson from Hamilton? I'd never heard of him until he signed a pre-contract with us. Is he meant to be one for the future, an option for the bench or a first team starter? (He'll be starting as it stands since 90% of our team seems to be leaving!)

As delighted and pleasantly surprised as I was with the result I can't help but wonder what if. What if Kenny had played as well as that for his whole AFC tenure. What if AoC didn't wait until his final game for AFC before showing that he was capable of good performances against the better teams. If he could play like that consistently I'd have been happy for him to sign the extension that he was offered. Lewis and Logan with big performances today I thought. I'm nae happy that Logan was sent off (apparently for violent conduct?) whilst always trying to walk away from Lustig and then Boyata. Granted he had to push them away but only because they were in his face. The "inciting a riot" thing is absolute guff. How often do we see that? Kris Boyd and Neil Lennon are two examples of the same sort of thing who aren't likely to be hit with a similar accusation. If you give it you've got to take it and that should go for fans as well as players. That's why I dinna go whinging to any nearby Polis when Kris Boyd gets it right up us after scoring.

Basically they think they're getting it right up us but what they'd do well to remember is that the NE of Scotland is, per capita, much more unionist than Glasgow. Most of the dos cunts in the home end whinging about their bile are indirectly at fault.

Went to Miller & Carter last week. They were having a "soft opening" so the food was half price and it was excellent. I'll definitely go back even though it will be full price. Proper steak restaurant in Aberdeen finally. Knowledgeable waiting staff and very good chefs. Do yourself a favour and let the chef cook the steaks as he'd have them himself. You can't go wrong. If you like your steaks well done then gtf and don't bother.

:laughing: :laughing: What a difference a fortnight makes! That was the Curtis Main that impressed me against the Huns. They couldn't handle him and we couldn't handle him. All he really did was try really hard and close us down. And when he did have a chance he was composed. That was enough for him to annihilate us.

Marmalade is almost as bad as dairylea IMHO. I also have never put jam on a rowie but I chose jam as it's undoubtedly one of the more popular choices. Personally I enjoy them by toasting them and spreading decent butter on them and that's it.
