  1. Aye the rest are a much of a muchness for me, none are particularly inspiring or appealing. Totally agree about Lennon having to question if we offer him anything he doesnt have at Hibs though. Guess we've got the bigger budget and better squad, but hibs have the facilities etc. All irrelevant as I suspect there's too much bad blood between our fans and lennon for it ever to happen, which is a shame as ive pretty much convinced myself he's the right appointment.
  2. The more I think about it the more I think that despite him being a horrible little cunt Neil Lennon would be a great appointment. Success with Celtic, manages a tight budget at hibs, chip on his shoulder and a point to prove to Celtic and hates rangers so no lying down to either of them, decent experience in Europe etc. He’s also a horrible wee shite which could rub off on some of our players. He hates us too so probably wouldn’t come and assume most fans would hate it but he’s better than many other names I’ve seen and I think I’d be in favour of going all in on him. Would certainly fix some of the flaws repeatedly shown by mcinnes. Alternatively I could be losing my mind successfully convincing myself it’s a good idea.
  3. Exactly the team I'd play given Christie and Tansey are out and GMS a doubt. We need width, we only came into the game a little more once we played with a bit more width on Wednesday so we need to make sure we do that again, start quicker and get the ball into wide areas then deliver decent crosses into the box. Shame GMS is struggling as I thought he was not bad when he came on at Ibrox, short on confidence etc but at least added something. Here's hoping Wright/Stewart can slot in and perform though. I just dont trust McInnes not to try and set up to stifle Rangers again out of stubbornness anymore, which will only lead to the same result as Wednesday. In my eyes he's got as much (if not more) to prove than the players do on Sunday. Agree Maynard is pish, havent seen any evidence of him being able to offer anything at all any time I've seen him. I don't agree that May/Rooney cant work playing 2 upfront though, I just dont think Sunday is the game to see if they gel.
  4. Does that mean there’s one less team you’ll describe as our bogey team?
  5. Pretty much how I see it now too, between that and his comments pre hamilton about the benefits of being in a stable position I reckon he'd not consider any approach from them for too long before knocking them back. Yeah I reckon its a bigger risk of McInnes going if/when WBA come calling. To be fair it would be a good move for him, connections with the club and ticks the box of having another crack in England as he's said is his ambition often enough in the past. Wouldnt grudge him that move at all, even if replacing him would be a tough task (but not impossible).
  6. https://www.afc.co.uk/2017/11/17/kingsford-update/ Interesting that they’re now saying they believe that the club/developers have finally fully shown why kings links isn’t an option. Would be interested to see how they’ve done that. Shite that the consultation process has to be redone, have to think that means there’s been significant changes to the plans though.
  7. Ah you’re a bastard, I knew this would be a wind up but I still fell for it. Well played
  8. In fairness there’s a lot of good points made there about how well mcinnes has done here. Rebuilding this summer especially. I know there’s lots of people saying he’s taken us as far as he can and that may turn out to be true... but on the other hand you could argue it’s just as likely he’s excited about where this group can go and building on what we currently have could bring us closer to more regular silverware if not league titles. It’s a pure guess based on nothing except his comments after he turned down Sunderland but he seems to be very shrewd when planning his next move, he may we’ll have some interest in the job but i doubt that means he’d definitely take it if offered. They’re probably even worse off than Sunderland were, taking the job could well damage any hopes he’s got of a High level job in England, which he’s made no secret of his desire to progress towards. I suspect the prospect of working under a DOF may well come in to it too, going on how he seems to have operated with us.
  9. Which is pretty much exactly what he said in his pre Ross county interview.
  10. Ah, better odds than I thought then... will be delighted to see him extend his stay
  11. Can’t really disagree with any of that. losing McInnes would be a massive blow, don’t think anyone has or would claim he doesn’t have his faults but the change he’s brought about in the club is huge, itd be a crushing blow if all the good work taking us this far stalls, or even worse regresses. I’ve yet to see a single realistic name suggested that would inspire confidence in progressing from where we are today. Here’s hoping his chat of only moving on to the right job and having unfinished business in England leads him to turn down any approach from that shambles of a club that may come his way.
  12. Like the fact there’s some fresh faces and some of the tried and tested failures have been left out, even if that does have more to do with the timing and location than any real desire to move on. Despite it being a meaningless friendly right on their doorstep I’m pleased McLean, Shinnie and Christie are included, it’ll at least show them that playing well for Aberdeen doesn’t completely shut the door to international call ups, a chance to stake a claim for future involvement too will be a real confidence boost too. Especially important in the case of Christie if we’ve got any chance at all of signing him after his loan deal is up. (Really slim chance admittedly...)
  13. This (assuming he's picking his next role as carefully as he's made out). Also, Oxforddon... you're a dick. That title wasn't very nice
  14. Could well be right there, assuming someone was going to leak the news anyway. If not it’s madness to offer up that sort of info the day before such a big game.
  15. Strange time to break the news... Will be a blow to lose him for nothing but I Guess it means we can sign a more natural central midfielder rather than shoehorning someone who’s always been better playing as a 10 but wasn’t as good as our other options there.
  16. Ah fair enough, must have missed that. Not sure it’d be any better than any of the other locations out with the city centre but strange it’s not mentioned in the q&a on the site choice
  17. Wasn’t that the current AECC? Can’t get on the full study but the new AECC site isn’t mentioned on the FAQ’s
  18. Probably not for Everton given his history with Liverpool but with all the talk of some premiership managers being under threat of the axe it got me wondering if Rodgers stock is high enough again to be linked with any jobs that do start to come up. There’s been lots of talk about McInnes jumping ship, next to nothing about Rodgers attracting interest which is strange given the job he’s been doing. Would certainly help if he does start attracting attention, could impact Celtics season quite significantly if either him or his squad is unsettled by rumours.
  19. Nail on the head for me, really hope McInnes doesnt try to be clever and change anything else. Regarding Hayes, can only hope if he does get game time that he's severely rusty
  20. I'd be keen to know if there's anything to that or if its all just rumour like the "aberdeen were offered land by the council but turned it down" line thats trotted out every so often.
  21. I've got a really bad feeling that as much as Kingsford has its flaws, the realistic alternatives should Kingsford fail will be utterly horrendous. I can only imagine the reaction should that fear become reality.
  22. Fair enough, to dismiss it as having an agenda or not knowing what I’m talking about is a bit pathetic though. Don't mind McLean at all, he’s a talented player and a real asset to the team when he’s playing well, he’s not performed to his potential regularly enough though. I could well be being harsh on his performances yesterday but until I see it again Im sticking to my opinion that he was wasteful with the ball far too often and tried far to many Hollywood or misplaced passes when a simple one would have been the better option. He’s a significantly better player than he showed yesterday and I Wouldn’t expect any of our players to have 100% passing accuracy, that’s just a daft arguement to make, I just think his passing was more wasteful than it should have been. There were positives to his performance, I just don’t think his use of the ball was one of them. Much more effort on the defensive side of things which is good. But aye you crack on and write it off as an agenda just because it’s a different opinion to yours...
  23. We must have been watching different players, Certainly more active defensively, wouldn’t say he played anything like as well as he can or he has for us. Can’t remember many decent passes during the first half at all, improved in the second but still not to the level he’s clearly capable of. Looks like he needs a rest to rediscover decent form.
