  1. ... or we hope for some AWESOME revenue generation during our European stint, and we service the debt the way most leading clubs do ... through merchandising and advertising.
  2. Nah. I don't care how much Leighton rates him, I'd rather we didn't see Esson back at the club. It'd be a step backwards for us. For fuck's sake, he is THIRD CHOICE at Shrewsbury!! Not only that, but he seems content with his third-choice position!!!! What the hell's he going to do for us?
  3. Don't worry, my Canadian friend! I've been tracking this since mid-February. As soon as we are granted the right to show fixture lists on here (which should be any day now) I shall let everyone know.
  4. I hope he doesn't go to Bournemouth. I think he's vastly underused by Calderwood, and is arguably our most clinical finisher. However, I had a wee read of one of the Bournemouth forums, and folk on there seem to think it's pretty much a done deal that he's heading back to Dean Court (or whatever it's called these days). Quite worrying that our most valuable assets are all being linked elsewhere. Just hope we can keep ahold of the likes of Lovell and Anderson. Dan Smith I couldn't give two hoots about. And the only thing I really like about Dempsey was his missus is quite hot and was the bank clerk who opened up the DonsTalk bank account.
  5. There's a big case going on at the moment relating to the copyrighting of fixture lists. The court case argues that without fixture lists the sports of football and horse-racing would cease to exist, as these sports reply primarily on the income generated from fans coming thru the turnstiles. If the fans don't know where to go and when, then these sports would cease to exist. Another issue regarding the copyrighting of fixture lists is that it is against international law to copyright a series of dates placed on a calendar ... essentially what fixture lists are. However, whilst this case is going on, we are under obligation to pay the copyright holders their due.
  6. Hate to say this, but in Rangers' defence, they're kicking up a fuss because they play a Champions League match on the Wednesday, and they dinnae really fancy playing two games in three days. Excuse me, but how often are Aberdeen forced to play three games in six days when we're playing catchup on all the matches that the weather postpones? Fuckin lump it, ya miserable moanin blue-faced wankers. It could be worse, you could have a REAL job where you have to work FIVE days a week!!
  7. Which ... funnily enough ... is almost exactly the same price to the penny that we sold Davie Robertson for about a decade and a half ago
  8. Aye, but Wiggy's got dollar-signs in his eyes!! The first million-pound transfer since Jess left for Coventry! Wiggy's rubbing his hands at the thought of making a dent in the club's debt, even if it is at the cost of our most valuable asset!
  9. He's a free agent next season!
  10. A bit old. Can he do a job for us?
  11. Aye. Yer a fat basturt, ya dobber!!
  12. Hey, what about Jussi Jaaskelainen? He's just rejected a new contract at Bolton Wanderers. Surely he'd be better than ANY of the keepers we have now!
  13. Fantastic! Always enjoy the Donscasts.
  14. Sure beats 3am (often 4am when daylight savings kicks in) for me. Fuck, I'm never up at that time normally! Even when I am, I'm too pissed to stay awake for two hours ... especially with Scott Davie's dulcit tones sending me to sleep
  15. Difference is, Theo signed for the huns knowing his best playing days were behind him and that this was just the golden handshake of his career. Cannae mind a single game he started for the huns, anyway. From what I remember, he collected a very handsome wage for doing sweet fuckall for them. Otherwise known as a "Doing A Darius (Adamczuk)" ... or "Landing A Lionel (Charbonnier)". Theo's the only player to MOVE to the huns that I have no problem with what he did. He got his best playing days with us, and set himself up with a bumper paycheque with them. Best of both world really. Doing the biz for us, and robbing the huns of their hard-earned bigot-bucks
  16. Still reckon that Scotland's crazy to be playing such a huige sport in the middle of the freezing cold winter. We should DEFINITELY look to make football a summer sport. It'd mean fewer match-cancellations and smaller travel risks for the fans. But hey, that's too much like common-sense for the SPL and the SFL
  17. And Cynical Kelt wins the prize of a lifetime supply of sour grapes for guessing that Fik would NOT sign with us
  18. Agreed. It's all very well having the best strikers that Bosman-rules can buy. But even Henry would struggle with the lack of supply our strikers get. We've got Smith and Nicholson in the attacking midfield roles (and probably this new chappy De Visscher too, but I will reserve judgment until he's played a game for us). But when either of these two attacking midfielders is injured, we are left with next to nothing that can feed our strikers the kind of quality balls that they need to get goals with. We need a player like Jess who can take the ball from the midfield and create something upfront that the strikers can develop into a chance. I ain't saying sign Jess, cos he's retired now. But someone LIKE him.
  19. I would say I'm gutted that he's not signed for us ... but let's be honest, none of us were really overwhelmed with excitement about this potential signing, were we? There's still a long way to go until the transfer window closes. Does this mean that there is now a free berth for a new player? Perhaps time to move in for the kill and get either Watford's Richard Lee or Man City's Kasper Schmeichel up here and make moves to punt Clanger for whatever cash we can get for him.
  20. Haha! Nicolas Fabiano!!! I actually thought he was a decent player who never got the chance he deserved. I thought he was a bloody effective winger. We started to see what he was capable in a match at Fir Park ... it may well have been his final match for us, I can't remember. Eric Deloumeaux stole the show with two goals and an amazing performance, and Roberto Bisconti was nailing every player that dared to steal possession from him. Shit, even Patricio Billio was rattling the woodwork from what seemed like 84 yards out! But Fabiano played the first half, and I thought he was a bloody effective winger. Skipped past Motherwell's band of hackers, bullies and tykes with ease, until some unknown wanker in an amber'n'claret strip, who clearly learned all his demolition skills from the master (Terry Butcher), brought him down and he had to limp off. I liked Fabiano, and reckon he just didn't really fit in with the AFC clique that was evident in those days.
  21. Hopefully the only one is "if I'm any good, I can listen to any offers over £3million"
  22. All we need to do is get rid of Bonny Clangfield. With the huns sniffing around for a bargain, I say sell him at whatever price we can get for him. If he starts any matches next season, he'll get absolute dog's abuse from the red army ... to the point that Darren Mackie, Ricky Foster, Scott Manurehead, Jamie McQuilken, Bryan Prunty, Derek Young, David Zdrillic, Tommy Solberg, John Inglis, Tzanko Tzvetanov, Nicky Walker and all our previous scapegoats will begin to feel sorry for him.
  23. What, you mean like Ireland's Celtic fans ... I mean Celtic's Ireland fans ... I mean ... same thing really! Fact of the matter is thousands upon thousands fly from Dublin to Glasgow each fortnight to watch Celtic, whilst teams like Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians play infront of piss-poor crowds.
  24. Being honest, I think there's only one person in this thread who thinks he isn't good enough. Everyone else is singing his praises
  25. Definitely need to improve. Although I never saw any of the matches with my own eyes, I did see most of them in video form either on YouTube or other means. And one thing that struck me was that, for once, we really had the rub of the green in a number of last season's matches. There was quite a few matches that we shouldn't have taken anything from ... but as luck would have it, we took all three points! I believe away to Killie, Hibs and Motherwell were examples. Our inconsistencies eventually caught up on us with the two matches against United that we lost convincingly. We've got a strong squad, yes. But we need to become more consistent. Injuries were our biggest downfall last season. Injuries to the likes of Smith, Touzani and Nicholson at the wrong times were very noticeable! If we can stay relatively injury-free, then I think there's no reason why we shouldn't end up in the top four AT LEAST
