  1. I don't have an awful feeling about this one though if Shinnie was playing I would be quite confident. This is a massive game for Rama and if he plays well we have a good chance to cause them problems. I do have some time for jutes suggestion of moving Mcrorie to midfield but it's hard to predict how Robson will approach this. It's a bold move to change a defence that hasn't conceded since a penalty away to utd. Der hun have their injuries as well but I have been depressingly impressed with how they have been progressing under beale and this will be a tough game. Goldson still out is good for us though and I do think we will score. 1-0 miovski
  2. The big question for the window will be whether we can keep Lopes out not. I've been of the opinion for a while we will do well to keep him 2 seasons so I would personally like to see us offer him a 1 year extension so we can still get a good price for him next summer. I'd like to see Mcdonald offered a deal and some of the glut of unused wingers moved on which must be costing us a fucking fortune.
  3. Could be cracker this one but not convinced it's a good time to get them. They will be well up for it with several places in the starting 11 for the semi up for grabs. That said we will be well up for it too, I doubt anyone who played in the last home game against them will need much in the way of motivating words from the manager. Not expecting much from the Shinnie appeal so hopefully rama is fit and available as we are a bit screwed if he's not. Impossible to predict without knowing who will be in midfield but I am hopeful of a result and wouldn't take a draw if offered just now. They are defo beatable so I'm going to say 2-1
  4. My anxiety is building for this one significantly but there's plenty of reason for hope. Classic tricky place to go as we have seen plenty times but good to see a sold out away end. If we score first i think we will be fine though they will be stodgy and we may need to be patient. 2 - 0 dons, Clarkson and bavidge
  5. Take that win all day long. Stodgy stuff at times but there was defo some moments of class in there. Rama was a big stand out for me, I was worried about the lack of Shinnie but he wasn't particularly missed in the end.
  6. Source for that last one?
  7. Potentially this could future planning. I did read online that Agnew may be away back to his business in london come the summer and he only took the gig as a favour to Robson. If memory serves it was on the abz podcasts twitter feed as a reply but don't quote me on that. I trust Robsons judgement though. One of the first things that struck me about him when he took over from glass was he clearly doesn't suffer fools. If he thinks Fox is worth having then I doubt he's going to be a negative influence on the team. He was asst to courts and the jutes did well under that regime so his record isn't as bad as would first appear. Time will tell I suppose.
  8. The Spanish are fair getting their whine on after that. The grass was too long and we were time wasting apparently. Fucking have it ya gurny cunts
  9. Retard reporting Robson to get it till the end of the season. About bloody time to my eye.
  10. Thought we might have had some sort of update from the club by now. I'm starting to think we can rule out Robson getting it until the end of the season though. If that was going to happen it surely would have done so following the massive comprehensive win against hearts.
  11. I don't agree with that 2bh, why must he get it permanently? I appreciate in for a penny in for a pound as much as the next man but I don't see why appointing till the end of the season isn't a reasonable proposition. I will concede I'm not sure there is a right answer to this though, there's ups and downs to all options in other words. One thing I will add that hasn't been mentioned is that if we were to get 3rd place you're looking at a higher quality of candidate for the position in the summer. Obviously that's a big if but I fancy us to beat hearts on Saturday 2bh. I appreciate your point about squad building for the next season but I don't think we have the luxury of giving that too much consideration at the moment. The fact we are still in with a sniff for 3rd is bonkers but that's just Scottish football in general i suppose. Regardless though that's the prize we should be keeping our eyes on and right now i think Robson is our best chance of getting it. Appointing till the end of the season with an assurance he will be a serious contender if he gets a euro place seems a perfectly reasonable proposition to me.
  12. This game is absolutely massive and I think it would be insane to bring a new manager in before it now.
  13. It's getting worse for them by the minute too. Football focus pulled, no players giving bbc interviews, at least one club (Bristol City though I'm sure plenty more will follow suit) refusing to have any dealings with them. What started out as a storm in a teacup has become a major crisis for the corporation.
  14. Given the importance of the hearts game I think it would be insane to change the manager before it. With so much still to play for as well it's going to take a very impressive appointment to convince me not leaving Robson in charge until the end of the season wouldn't be the better option. Robson has massively steadied the ship, the players look happy and focused and the team has a bit of steel about it again. Any new manager is going to have to start from scratch and we really don't need that right now. As things stand 3rd place is well within reach and, lest we forget, 3rd place would be worth about 4-5 million quid to the club. Bringing in a new guy now is a far bigger gamble than leaving Robson in charge for the rest of the season to my eye.
  15. I'm shocked, shocked I tell thee!
  16. Seems a lazy journalism article to me but who knows.
  17. The appointment of Agnew alone made me think there was a good chance Robson was at least in the running for having the gig till the end of the season. I knew the name but when I looked into him my first thought was "you could easily be getting a permanent gig down south inside a month if you wanted to with that CV" Robson is on the record as saying he was a coach he got on really well and kept in touch with but I just don't see Agnew taking the job if there wasn't at least the chance of it being permanent. So yeah, I think Robson is absolutely a contender for the job. I'm going nail my colours to the mast here. I think he should be given it till the end of the season, he's had a month with the players and not only are we are seeing improvement but we have resurrected a realistic goal of 3rd place as things stand. To use a metaphor; with budding shoots appearing from the earth this is a terrible time to be rasing the ground for a new crop.
  18. Cosgrove is such a closet sheepshagger. I know a few St j fans who have similar leanings, one said to me they were always grateful to the dons for being able to put utd in their place in the 80s. I'll say this though re the OP. I can completely understand where Cowan was coming from and dreaded the worst when they got that pen.
  19. Outplayed for large parts of that game but I'll take that all day long. Defo looked to cope with utd better when we went to a back 3.
  20. I love that kid so fucking much
  21. In the modern game I would say it's pretty essential to be able to swap wings when you play that kind of role.
  22. It would be used though otherwise you would not be able to come to the conclusion that no-one on it warrants being appointed. Couldn't help but have a wee wry smile at Robsons presser today when he was asked if he wanted to be on the SL. Basically said I've been asked this a thousand times then ducked the question yet again. If you want the questions to stop Bazza give a yes or no answer to a yes or no question.
  23. Just because you put together a shortlist doesn't mean you have to choose one of them either though.
  24. Hmmmm, not convinced of your last paragraph 2bh. I couldn't help but feel burrows was keeping his options open on that score, certainly until the end of the season at least. If they are looking at managers already in employment it would stand to reason some would want to see out their respective campaigns before moving which could Robson some wriggle room. If Robson is given it until the end of the season and does really E.g. He manages to take 3rd place then all bets are off and he's massively in with a shout of the gig on a permanent basis. It would seem to me it will all depend on whether or not there is an outstanding candidate available now. If there is they will get the job. If there's not it seems prudent that it should Robson till the end of the season.
  25. Goodwin confirmed. Massively got the fear for this one now but I'm hoping he will make me feel better by coming out in the press and saying it won't take long to sort the utd defence out.
