  1. Too many folk get Socialism mixed up with what we believe is Communism, which is what was supposedly what happened after the Russian Revolution and then after WW2, with the Totalitarianism of the Iron Curtain. What we got after WW2, in the UK was pretty damn good. As close to Socialism as we could ever get in a capitalist country. I suspect climate change, mixed with an over populated world and the rise of AI, will come to a head soon enough and force the issue.
  2. I think I read this a few years ago. The lad ended up living with the Coughs on and off from his teens into adulthood and ended up shitting on them. Not a bad read at all, if the same book, which I think it is.
  3. There is more than one of them. I just recently discovered who one is, who sits amongst the Ultras. No surprises that these same guys are part of the protectors of the nation brigade, outside the asylum hotels. Sad behaviour and for the watching.
  4. Kiki Dee - Star
  5. then our cups are over brimming with optimism.
  6. Ex dons defender Mikey Devlin has just announced his retirement from football, at the age of 32. I honestly thought he was a good defender, and wish the guy all the best.
  7. Although I do have a great deal of confidence in our youth to turn things around, I am also worried about the number of young folk that have been brought up in wealth and will realise they want the old order to remain in place when they take control. They might throw a few more crumbs down from the top table, but it will be too little too late. I honestly think the world is past the stage that it can be mended by mankind.
  8. Depeche Mode - In Your Room
  9. Used to think the same, but having doubts about that now.
  10. I couldn't see the club holding on to an unhappy player, but if no bids received, other than the alleged one from the Polish club, there is not a lot the club can do. We can't just rip up his contract. Seems like it is going to end in a sour note, which would be a shame as really rate him as a player. I reserve the right to change my mind about him, if he were to rock up in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
  11. An AFC piece on the P&J site, states Clarkson unwilling to be on the bench. Must be an element of truth in it and if so, suggests to me that relationship between player and the manager/club, has completely broken down.
  12. We'll have more fans than that in Prague, for a meaningless game. The definition of a diddy team.
  13. Neither was a pen for me, when seeing it on the replays I'm not familiar with the handball rules, but would have been raging if it had gone against us. As someone already posted, they deserved to lose for the horrendous time wasting, carried out after they scored. If they had cut out that shyte and went and got a second goal, I doubt we would have recovered. Fuck 'em.
  14. Easy to answer, as not going, but if I was, I'd be going more to see Prague, with the football being an afterthought. I'd bite you hand off for a victory at Parkhead on Sunday though.
  15. Never knew it was still available. Thought it was discontinued way back in the day.
  16. I honestly thought that was made up. People actually vote for that waste of a sperm. President of the most powerful nation on earth, who all other nations follow blindly.
  17. And the cool lorries used to deliver it. Freezing cold bon accord ale, delivered on a Friday night. Pineapple was a particular favourite of mine.
  18. No, it was an old Cadbury chocolate brand. Going back a lot of years with that one.
  19. I obtained a couple of bottles of the Moray Cup and it just wasn't the same. Passable, but just not right. Fair play to the guys that did it though. A bottle of Moray Cup with a bag o chipper chips, fae the Torry chipper, was the DBs back in the day. Another favourite was Dark Iron Brew, also made by Sangs. Sadly consigned to history, along with Hays and Bon Accord, although Bon Accord is back as a sort of hipster company, making mixers for funcy cocktails and the like and costs a fortune.
  20. You still very much get Rolos and they are still fine and sickly if you eat too many. The year I discovered the demise of red bounties and Topics, I got my Wife to buy me a heap of bars, such as Rolos, Star Bar, Picnic, Toffee Crisps and a whole load of others, fearing their demise. Had about 30 different bars in all. Put them altogether on the Xmas morning and took a photo, which made a great vinyl print and is hung up in our kitchen, alongside my framed Aitkens Bakery paper bag, which also looks as smart as...
  21. I wouldn't eat them now and haven't for a lot if years, as they aren't veggie, but I do like liquorice now, so reckon you could be onto something.
  22. Yes, I saw it, but it was so brief, I thought I had imagined it. I didn't see either call clearly for the penalty calls, especially ours.
  23. How did the booze selling go in the RDS? I'm assuming it all went well, as I didn't see any attempt by fans in the RDS, to storm the pitch at half time after watching what was served up.
  24. Callum Morris I have no recollection of. He came through the ranks at Newcastle, and from where we had another esteemed Callum. Cal Roberts, aka the Geordie Messi. Now plying his trade with Scunthorpe United in the English Conference.
  25. Cabana Bars Splicer bars Gambit Bar Six Golden Cup - you got a fancy bar, the top shelf stuff that only adults bought and was also a fingerlike bar, that came in a red and gold foil wrapper, that us kids bought.
