  1. Please tell me that is made up? Feel a little sick seeing that.
  2. You would have loved the collection. I suspect you would have had a lot of common ground in musical tastes. That's why he gave me stuff, to educate me, even though I rarely liked much of them. Be Bop Deluxe being a notable exception, I loved them. Thin Lizzy too, even though I'm not a rock music lover. The thing about him, was that although he had an enormous collection, he wasn't precious about his records He'd remove records or discs from their players and not put them back in their case, just leave them lying about, which is a huge no for me. My Sons have nearly been dropped off at Bernardo's for doing that shit with my music.
  3. I've never streamed music. Might listen to something on YouTube at a push, but that's about it. I listen to radio a lot and if I like something I buy it in physical form, much to my Wifes annoyance, as running out of shelves to put everything. To be fair, she has splashed out on a new hifi system for my Xmas, so she can't be overly bothered. I also still use an iPod for listening to music on when out on my walks.
  4. To kill fans enjoyment at games. Maybe it is why they are softening their approach to alcohol at games. Get the majority bladdered and they wont give a flock how long the decisions take.
  5. Gavin Malloy did a ligament in his knee, when he came on and is out for 6-8 weeks. A guy beside us was shouting for him to get on with it and stop being a fanny. I'd be a fanny too if I did a ligament in my knee.
  6. Blue - To the End
  7. Aye, on loan from Swansea.
  8. I was actually quite impressed with Dundee when they played us up here in September. Thought they tried to pass the ball about and play a bit of football, but just lacked the quality and experience and we were able to exploit it. Thought the scoreline flattered us a bit that day, but I wasn't complaining. I work with three Dundee supporters and they are actually quite sound. None of them are overly impressed with Pressley though, but I think they are more frustrated with their owners than the actual team and none of them wanted Tony D gone.
  9. Gingerism - That's a new one on me. He's nae quite up with Davie Dodds in levels of ugliness and he's a pain in the arse on the pitch, so I would take it as a compliment if I were him. I wouldn't have minded him here. Could we find better, probably if we looked hard enough, but he would probably have worked in Thelins one up front role.
  10. VAR hasn't cut out the mistakes that it was meant to, so by that metric alone, it has failed. Factor in the sheer nonsense of the time it takes to make a decision, which sucks all enjoyment out of the games, then it has been an unmitigated disaster. Outwith what we see in games involving either of the cheeks, I think mistakes by refs were part of the game and usually evened themselves out over a season. For me, VAR can get to fuck and when it reaches its destination, it can fuck right off again.
  11. Not as big a name here as he was in the States, where he was huge. Worked with a guy years ago who was a big fan of his music and tried to get me into him and other stuff like Styx, Boston and REO Speedwagon, but just not ever been my thing. The guy I worked with, I don't think I'll ever see a record collection like that again. Thousands upon thousands of LPs, Singles, CDs, Tapes and even Eight Tracks (I shit you not). Dressed like a tramp and had no other interests, bar his music. He was married with two kids, but his music still came first. He counted everything by the value of records. If he went out for a drink, each pint was the price of a single. If he bought a round, it was an album. Needless to say, he didn't go out much. When Fopp opened years ago and started selling CDs at about £5, the collection got even bigger. I discovered last year that he died around 2017, aged just 62. Would love to know what happened to his collection. Remembering his Wife, there was a good chance she burnt them. He gave me, amongst other records, the first four Led Zeppelin albums, when I was 16. All originals, one of them is supposedly quite a rare edition. Never played them as have never been my cup of tea. The only album he ever gave me that I liked, was the 49p tapes by Faust, because I like all that experimental shyte (his words). All that brought on by the Peter Framton post by Al.
  12. The first two albums by German group Neu! were given an outing today. Sounded excellent. First time I'd listened to them in a while
  13. Status Quo - Down Down
  14. Steve Cropper - Guitarist with Booker T and the MGs and wrote/played guitar on some of the best tracks ever. RIP
  15. I don't think we are going on another bad run, we have shown we will change tactics now instead of blindly doing the same shit, game after game, like we did last season. It was disappointing to only get a point last night, but we didn't play too badly.
  16. Just watched the highlights. I think St Mirren are right to be aggrieved about their first goal being chalked off, didn't look right to me seeing it back, not sure it was a penalty though, so I suppose one cancels out the other. Their second, Milne slips, (wasn't the only one to slip during the match last night), I had forgotten Devlin was supposed to be covering, I had a recollection of their striker being one one one with Mitov. Their third, fuck me, it was a poor one and so late. Still not going to grumble too much, it was an entertaining game, not something we have been able to say of late. Was nice seeing one of our strikers score a poachers goal, with our second. 18 shots with 8 on target I think the stats said. if only Nisbet hadn't used the sharp edge of his head with thon header. We rode our luck on Sunday and came away with three points, we played much better last night and got a draw. That's fitba.
  17. Hun get awarded a soft penalty in the 98th minute and salvage a 2-2 draw. Somethings will just never change in our game.
  18. You could be right. Im sure Bobby Connor and Billy Stark might disagree though.
  19. Took var about 10 minutes to check two goals, then Malloy got injured, which meant more time added on. VAR really is an abomination.
  20. Not sure how you can claim Surman is decent, based on what, last season with Cove? He might actually be alright, but I don't think we can really tell yet. Do we risk it to find out or hope Mitov finds a bit of form.
  21. Milne slipped and the ball came off his hand right into the path of their striker, who hit it between Mitovs legs to score. Unfortunate, but shit happens.
  22. On the bus hame. Good game, especially the second half. Well done anyone having a 3-3 draw tonight. Before we get tore into our defence, I reckon a few of them are carrying knocks, but no real options to replace anyone. Created a decent amount of chances and lucky not to score a few more. The header by Nisbet in the first half and the Aou cheche in the second half, which then saw them go up the other end and score. Jensen was miles off it tonight, you could see him hesitate when he got the ball and his decision making was awful. Going home entertained, which I didn't expect. VAR ruins football. Sucks all the enjoyment out of it and the time it takes to make a decision is farcical.
  23. Never got Dylan, just doesn't connect with me at all. That whiny voice of his iratates the hell out of me. my view on him hasn't softened over the years. For some reason, I have the DVD of the film about him to watch. Not sure if I'll bother.
  24. You are onto something. I have bought and listened to music that I would have battered myself for owning a few years back. I have an Elton John album in my collection now and even some Emerson Lake and Palmer.
  25. I'm assuming that this includes all side projects and collaborations from the individual members of New Order? If just straight JD or New Order music, it wouldn't amount to that big a catalogue, unless you go down the rabbit hole of remixes and re-issued albums.
