  1. According to Mr Brown himself on his interview on BBC Scotland Sport website he doesn't expect official annopuncement until Monday. Relax guys, all will be well
  2. Can noyl think they don't trust the mini bus full of supporters they'll take to the game to behave themselves and not shout some nasty things to Mr Brown
  3. They obviously want him to have a few days oot of work
  4. SSN source Motherwell have asked us to delay the appointment of Mr Brown until after we play them on the 18th December. Does this mean they will in return retract the stupid statement about getting the SPL to take action against us for an illegal approach for their management team. Personally I'd tell Frankie Howard to go fuck himself
  5. Frightened he might have had to pay him more than two pence in the pound if he'd given him a contract and then had to sack him
  6. Kev this is bang on and I agree with your post wholeheartedly. +1 Delighted to waken up this morning to the news that this is a step closer, just need the confirmation of pictures from the news conference. Imagine that he'll watch the game from the stand tomorrow and offically take charge as of monday. Got to laugh at Murderwell greeting the way they appear to be. If he didn't have a contract, what can we have done wrong by talking to him and offering him a job. Typical farce from Mr "two pence in the pound" Boyle
  7. How fucking raging is John "two pence in the pound" Boyle going to be if this goes through. No compo this time either Frankie boy to soften the blow. What goes around, comes around
  8. copy and paste of article Craig Brown has revealed he turned down the chance to take over at Aberdeen out of loyalty to his players at Motherwell and reluctance to move too far from his family. Aberdeen’s determination to land Brown was underlined when chairman Stewart Milne made a second attempt to persuade him yesterday, having had a meeting on Tuesday which ended in disappointment. Brown was flattered and promised to consider the renewed offer overnight, but he is certain to contact Milne today and tell him he will not be coming. Former Scotland manager Brown, 70, was Aberdeen’s first choice and along with assistant Archie Knox he met Milne, director of football Willie Miller and managing director Duncan Fraser in Glasgow. At Brown’s suggestion, the meeting took place at the office of his solicitor brother Jock. Last night, the Well boss said he had been impressed by Milne and claimed the Aberdeen chairman did everything he could have done to make the offer attractive. He said: “You’d hardly get a bigger and better club outside the Old Firm, a club with bigger potential, than Aberdeen. It is a big club, a real football club. “If everything else was equal I’d have done it, or if the response at Motherwell wasn’t as good as it is, we’d jump into Aberdeen. But we have such a young and vibrant group of players here.” Even Aberdeen’s superior fanbase and wage bill could not tempt Brown and Knox, not least because they have reached a stage in their careers where they are weary of moving around the country. “Archie has done 15 moves already. My family’s all in Ayrshire. My wee grandkids think Aberdeen’s in Outer Mongolia,” added Brown. “Aberdeen’s a smashing city, but on balance we thought, having thought the whole thing over, that it wasn’t right.” Scottish Under-21 manager Stark and former Hibs manager John Hughes will inevitably move up the list of candidates for the Dons job now. Hamilton’s Billy Reid, Mixu Paatelainen at Kilmarnock, Gus MacPherson and Jocky Scott have also been linked with the post as well as several non-Scottish managers. Another rumour had Scott and Alex Smith down to return in a resurrection of the co-managerial team which was in charge at Pittodrie from 1988 to 1991 and won two domestic cups.

  15. Interesting quotes ! MOTHERWELL MANAGER HAS not ruled out THE POSSIBILITY OF taking charge of ABERDEEN By Michael Gannon and Dave Edwards Published: 09/12/2010 Aberdeen are refusing to concede defeat in the pursuit of Motherwell manager Craig Brown and his assistant Archie Knox. Brown and Knox had turned down the chance of a move to Pittodrie after talks in Glasgow on Tuesday with Dons chairman Stewart Milne, director of football Willie Miller and chief executive Duncan Fraser. The meeting triggered a stiff and swift rejection from Motherwell and a polite refusal from Brown. But the Aberdeen chairman last night made a second attempt to secure the services of the Fir Park duo. The chairman views the 70-year-old former Scotland manager as the ideal candidate to install stability at Pittodrie, just as he did at Motherwell when he inherited a demoralised squad from Jim Gannon 12 months ago and led them to fifth in the SPL. Brown, who is operating without a contract at Fir Park, is considering his options and has not ruled out taking charge of the Dons little more than a week after the dismissal of Mark McGhee. Brown said: “Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne phoned me back on Wednesday and asked if we would be prepared to reconsider our refusal to be a candidate for the job. “Quite frankly, although we originally said no, after the very pleasant appeal from the Aberdeen chairman to reconsider our position, we will have another agonising sit-down and talk out of respect for a man who we both respect. “As well as the chairman, Duncan Fraser and Willie Miller, we also know people such as directors Hugh Little and Gordon Buchan and like them very much so it was hard to say no to them. “With the chairman coming back to us everything is now up in the air, everyone is entitled to change their mind, so there could be a change of heart.” Earlier in the day, Aberdeen’s chances of securing their leading candidate appeared doomed. Brown had reached a decision in the morning and Motherwell chief executive, Leeann Dempster said: “Given the fantastic on-field success in 2010, it is not surprising other clubs are taking an interest in our management team. “With that in mind, we can confirm representatives from Aberdeen met, briefly, with both Craig Brown and Archie Knox on Tuesday afternoon. “However, both have decided to reject any approach and reiterated their commitment to Motherwell. We look forward to continued success under both men in the future.” Brown then went public to clarify his reasons for not moving to Pittodrie. He said: “We met with Stewart Milne, Duncan Fraser and Willie Miller and we were obviously hugely impressed with them. “They invited us to consider the possibility of coming to Aberdeen. They were doing a due diligence search for potential candidates so as Stewart was coming to Glasgow anyway they spoke to us. We were given overnight to consider it. I have grandchildren and they were a bit weepy about the thought of me going away again after five years in England. “Having slept on it, and not slept overnight, Archie and I decided we would stay at Motherwell. “We know in football terms Aberdeen is a very good club, but because of these domestic issues we said we would stay at Motherwell.” The change of heart means Aberdeen will wait for Brown’s response before turning to other candidates, with former Hibs manager John Hughes, Scotland under-21 coach Billy Stark, former St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson and Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn among those being considered. Aberdeen’s match against Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park on Wednesday, December 29 has been brought forward from 7.45pm and is now a 3pm kick-off. 19. He's a professional footballer for fuck sake. Go figure what being a professional at anything entails. Welcome back in January in my book, and as others have said the experience can't have done him any harm
  20. FFS min, are you really that fucking thick or do you just do it to create controversy That sort of attitude is just plain stupid. Did Foster request the move ? Did he fuck. Only one person accountable for this loan move, and he has now gone, so move on
  21. No quotes contained and lifted from today's online Sun. ABERDEEN have sounded out Craig Brown as they step up their search for a new boss - but SunSport understands he WON'T be heading to Pittodrie. Dons director of football Willie Miller made contact with Brown - their first choice to replace sacked Mark McGhee - yesterday. But he couldn't sell the 70-year-old on a move to Pittodrie. Scotland Under-21 boss Billy Stark and Raith gaffer John McGlynn remain on the radar and Miller will now explore other options. Meanwhile, Phil Brown insists he'll give the Dons something to sing about if he gets the job. Brown - who grabbed a microphone and sang to the Hull fans after keeping them in the Premiership in 2009 - said: "In the interim there needs to be stability at Aberdeen but once the present situation is turned around then it is time to plough on."
  22. Could you not have hit his face Actually come to think of it, very little difference. Take the little prick out next time Jay, and I don't mean for a romantic meal
