Spot on Bobby. Said it before and I'll say it again, the majority of professional footballers on the edge of a Premiership 1st eleven will add value to out team. Milsom definitely fits the bill
-
No brainer tbh, make him an offer and see igf he'll sign now. sure i read somewhere that much as he'd like to play in the Premiership again he is enjoying life at Aberdeen and would be happy to sign on for longer term: Aberdeen manager Craig Brown is ready to offer midfielder Rob Milsom a long-term contract at Pittodrie. The 24-year-old has been an impressive addition since joining from English Premier League club Fulham on January 13 on a deal until the summer. Milsom is a free agent at the end of the season but Brown has already seen enough in his first four appearances to want him signed on a longer-term contract. The midfielder will have a key role when Aberdeen face Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup fifth round at Pittodrie on Sunday. Brown said: “Milsom has done very well for us and has looked a very worthy acquisition. He has been involved in very difficult games, playing against Celtic three times in 11 days, and he has been a standout. I would like to keep him in the long term. We have the Dunfermline game on Sunday but after that there is a little break for the international matches and we will be looking to begin talks with him next week.” Brown wants Milsom tied up but others in the squad face uncertain futures. Goalkeeper Jamie Langfield, defender Zander Diamond, midfielder Derek Young and attackers Sone Aluko and Chris Maguire are out of contract in the summer. Milsom and defender David McNamee are on short-term deals until June. Attacker Nick Blackman and defenders Nikola Vujadinovic and Steven Smith are also on loans which expire at the end of the season. Brown is facing a major rebuilding project in the summer but his focus is on the present. The former Scotland manager does not think the uncertainty will affect players’ performances – far from it. The manager expects even more from those who have the most to gain. He said: “In my experience, players perform better towards the end of their contracts. They know they are in the shop window, not just to earn deals at Aberdeen but at other clubs. “We did not receive any approaches for our players in January but we know they are being watched and they are playing for deals here or elsewhere.” Brown is optimistic midfielder Ryan Jack will be available to face the Pars, despite suffering a shin injury against Celtic on Tuesday but defender David McNamee is targeting next week’s trip to St Johnstone after aggravating a groin problem. Much to report since last post on here. In no particular order have read the following: Ken Follet - The Pillars Of The Earth. A decent story from Mr Follet as ever, but at almost 1100 pages, it was at least 500 too many, and the story could easily have been condensed somewhat. George W Bush - Decision Points. Wouldn't have bought it from choice, but given it as a present and actually a decent enough read, if only because I take an interest in current affairs and everything that happened in it is fairly recent and easily rememberable. David Peace - 1974. Finished it but to be honest wouldn't rave about it. Think that boils down more to his style of writing rather than the story itself which was ok. Stuart McBride - Dark Blood. Latest paperback offering on Aberdeen's finest. Been critical of Mr McBride in the past for being far fetched, but this one puts him right back in the frame. Excellent read and finished in a train journey to Newcastle and back. Currently enjoying a book by Paul McGuigan (Oasis) and Paolo Hewiit entitled "The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw" which is the poignant, funny and tragic story of Robin Friday.

And in Ifil's defence, he would have had an age advantage over Kombuare

Ouch ya fucker Interesting times ahead. Odds on him staying on the park for ninety minutes in a derby game have to be almost non existant -
Guess we've probably had to pay off the remainder of Ifil's contract though
-
Never really thought he got a real chance at Der Huns. Anyway, welcome on board lad

Spot on Personally stayed to the end, but did say after the fourth went in that would be astounded if we were still there at the bitter end. My younger son is now starting to think he is a jinx on us.......three semi finals, three times four goals conceded.
-
Nae offence but thats not exactly difficult
-
the midget had a fucking howler
-
Meant to say, still think Considine is saveable and therefore would stick with him. Zander however is another matter.

My view on Clangers is well documented elsewhere, but hey ho here we go again. Today was a brodge too far for me as far as Langfield is concerned and I think he has sealed his own fate today. Very much doubt he'll be with us next season.

Hugely disappointed right now, honestly though we could/would do it this afternoon. First observation, Mr Brown got it very very wrong with the line up.... going with four central defenders has been tried and failed before....why start our only natural right back in midfield ? Game was dead and buried inside nine minutes....at this point I seriously thought the 9-0 could/would be surpassed. The introduction of Jack did however steady the ship once the formation was changed. Brown and Knox need to take a share of the blame for today, however senior players again let us down... Paul Hartley will you ever turn up against your beloved 'Tic.... Clangers think you sealed your own fate today ( I have defended you time and time again o'er the years ) but again your bottle has crashed in a a big game. Bizarrely and I don't know if this is to our credit or their detriment but we could and should have scored three ort four in the second half with al ittle bit more composure, and the aforementioned Clangers never had a safe to make. Please in the league game can we come out of the traps and get right in the these cunts faces and get Magennis to stick it right up that fucker Mulgrew. We have it within us to take them and little in life would give me greater pleasure other than having a threesome with the Minogue sisters would give me greater pleasure Sorry for ther rant, but fucked off and pissed off

Any youngster on the fringes of Premiership first team would pretty much bring something to benefit us

Very valid points GS. Was just saying the same myself to a colleague earlier.
