  1. Top forty countdown, finger poised over record/pause button hoping to fuck that the person doing the countdown wouldn't talk over the end pf the tracks you were recording
  2. Ken fit you mean about him His brother is the keyboard player in the orchestra. I wouldn't single out any individual musician as I thought they were all immense to be fair
  3. Appreciate that this won't be everyone's cup of tea (wasn't actually sure it was mine to be honest) but went to see Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on Friday night at the SEC Armadillo Over two hours of pure entertainment, what a pianist the man really is, ably backed by his fourteen strong band, not to mention being joined on stage by amongst others Ruby Turner and Imelda May as guest vocalists. All this and change out of £60 per head, money seriously well spent. Already awaiting details of 2026 tour so that we can return again
  4. Fergal Sharkey - A Good Heart

  9. First game in charge for the French man and his Nancy Bhoys roundly booed off at half time Another fine example of the best fans in the world in action
  10. Twenty one years ago yesterday we lost our little Moroccan magician. How apt that on that anniversary the World Cup draw pairs us with Morocco.

  23. Can honestly say I've never heard of them, but the beauty of streaming platforms means I can have a listen to part of them (if shite) or all of them if good
  24. Superb post min, love hearing about stuff like that, obviously apart from the bit about him being deid. I'd of loved to have had a day rummaging through his musical collection, thought mine was pretty extensive but fuck me, sounds like he takes it to a whole new level and even a man of my vintage years never possessed ant eight tracks although I certainly remember them and mind my mate's dad playing one by Johnny Cash every time I was in the car with them Your right about Frampton and his popularity over in the States, whereas in the UK he is probably as well known as having been part of the bands The Herd and Humble Pie. After posting my message about Frampton it put me in mind of just how good a year 1976 was for albums and decided to do a little research and came up with the following link https://www.radiox.co.uk/features/x-lists/best-albums-1976/ I already have thirteen of them, others I've heard along the way since but the likes of the Blondie (honestly didn't know they recorded as far back as that), Ramones & The Modern Lovers ones I have no recollection of and am now setting myself the goal of listening to all twenty five of them whilst working from home. It'll remind of what music was like in my early teens.
