So the trick is to launch the award at high speed towards his napper rather than just hand it to him?

Add to that 'This is the worst home defeat in Europe since the 3-1 defeat to Torino' -

Fuck Thursday night. Far as im concerned that is a game for the youth team with a couple of borderline first teamers. The cover is required for August 15th when celtic come a calling. Spending too much time chasing a player is a bad idea but even worse is signing someone up wthout putting any thought in to it. I really hope the opening line in the negotiations isnt 'so can ya be in the czech republic for Thursday morning. If it is they may as well stick the ball gag in and bend over the players agents desk.

Im gonna go out on a limb here see this Milne character He went form having about £200 in his pocket to form one of the biggest development firms in the UK amassing a personal fortune of several tens of millions. He then made a real mistake by investing in his local football club for which i will be fucking amazed if he has EVER seen a return on his money. He is not a stupid man so he will be looking to jump ship at the first opportunity to end this drain on his finances so ask yourself why he hasnt? If he walks with no replacement the club goes under. Fans like you lynch him If he walks and hands control to some wannabe who takes the club under he will be blamed for the demise, not the new guy. fans like you lynch him From this I conclude that he hasnt walked because either 1) NO ONE wants his job 2) Those that have expressed an interest dont have the money or the intelligence to keep the club alive. The club is apparently 'nearly standing' on its feet' you say. I see that as 'we are actually not making a loss each season, keep this up and we might actually start to clear this debt and show we are worth being invested in.' Do you see it as 'we are all fixed now so start giving us moneyto blow on over inflated wages so we can have 1 or 2 good seasons before the taxman comes a calling and we end up worse off than before? I cleared my overdraft a couple of years back. Ill tell ya the last thing on my mind when i did that was go out and immedietly spend a few thousand to put me right back where I started from.

I dont recall seeing any dons player being able to 'out muscle' anyone since Shearer retired and Windass left. In fact the one time i was at pittodrie early in the morning to get tickets (about 7 years back now) the entire squad walked past me and I died a little inside when I realised our entire first team seemed to be half my size (that included the goalies) The squads physical size doesnt seem to have improved since then (well fucking derek young is still about for a start) Its about time they signed someone whose career wouldnt be ended if i bumped into them in the street

Worst European performance at Pittodrie?
tom_widdows replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Why the hell do they keep saying we lost 3-1 at home to Torino? I was there but was this game really worse than Skonto Riga? (yes I know that was a 1-1 draw but im going by my dads memory of the game) -
Ginola must be getting very frustrated on the touchlines Taffarel must be pissed off with this nelson boy getting a 1 year deal too

Sky & ESPN in Joint Deal for SPL Rights
tom_widdows replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
The EPL packages that ESPN bought for this season are only for matches played at 530pm on a saturday and 8pm on a monday. As of next season they lose one of those packages which as far as I see it leaves sundays free for SPL coverage. Potentially even a midweek game or 2. So where is the scheduling conflict? -
Sky & ESPN in Joint Deal for SPL Rights
tom_widdows replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Im I correct in thinking this Old firm each fork out 1.25million to each non old firm spl team they then go and sell the rights to sky and ESPN for say 40million (who the fuck else is going to buy it?). They then collect 20million each (7.5million profit) because it was their product to sell in the first place. Im willing to my share in Padre that if us, the arabs and co decide hun tv is the way forward the agreement we have to sign will contain the clause - for this 2.5million you give us the right to decide when we play matches against you even if it totally shafts your fans. There in lies the tv equivalent of 'give us money to sell tickets for your games' Or am I way wde of the mark? -

Sky & ESPN in Joint Deal for SPL Rights
tom_widdows replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Sky and ESPN think the SPL is worth 13million per season Old firm think its worth 12.5million per season well bugger me if thats a no brainer. Are they actually of the opinion that 2 years down the line sky will come crawling back pleading with the top 12 to accept a £100million + deal. Am I to understand that the glasgow bastards would rather fork out 12.5million instead of accepting 1million just so they could show their own matches at times that they think are suitable? Are advertising revenues really that good these days? -
Ah yes THAT brondby game Postponed twice and eventually played in a monsoon that would have seen any other game cancelled At halftime they started moving those in the south stand to the RDS because the wind was driving the rain and sleet under the roof. Think they even moved some folk from the Merkland too. Belabed scored the equaliser with the last kick of the game -top corner 'hit hard and hope' effort from 18yards

Pre season friendlies are pish. The only good thing to come out of them is the chance to go to random small stadiums that you wouldnt normally even consider. (Like Hull). The ones at home are best forgotten before they are played Possibly the most boring football related afternoon I ever had was a pre -season match at pittodrie vs one of the Vienna teams (may have been rapid) in either July 2002 or 2003. Game coincided with Free at the dee and ended 2-1 to the austrians with a grand total of 6500 turning up. That was supposed to be a 'Glamour game'. Twas after that I vowed never to go to another 'home' pre -season friendly again
