Not so sure LA, we were clearly being over run in the middle, he was introduced and immediately we started getting back up the pitch, dictating the midfield, then we win a penalty 10 minutes later. He definitely made a positive impact when he came on.

Clean sheet, 3 points and the majority of Hearts players going down the road bumped and bruised, a very good day at the office. Got off to a fantastic start. Sam Cosgrove is literally the best Striker in the League at this current time, on his form. He was excellent again today, utterly battered Berra & Haring. McKenna & Considine dealt with MacLean & Naismith with ease, midfield were excellent also. I almost jizzed everywhere when I saw Gleeson coming on You could see the calming influence he brought to the middle of the park when Hearts were getting a grip of the game, completely changed with his introduction, but a special mention to him for the venom he showed when Naismith looked to kick/stamp young Ferguson, he went mental and flew for Naismith and then ripped into Olly Lee, I can't tell you how proud that makes me feel, when I see our players stand up for each other like that, he took zero prisoners, and Cosgrove also looks like he takes zero shit from anyone, important attributes like that can help against a team like Hearts. Sincerely hope that isn't the last we see of Max Lowe, but it would be rather ironic that Derby have called him back due to injuries, only to get injured himself. But hope he makes the next 2 games and goes on his merry way, he can proud of his time here.

I'm an Ayrshire lad and personally I find the cunts down here a hell of a lot worse than the cunts from Aberdeen! Spent 3 years on and off living & working in Aberdeen and they were delightful people, especially Elgindon, he's a legend. Also was invited up last year to an ex colleagues wedding and another is now a personal best friend, good cunts

Only if we don't win.

Hoban due back very soon if memory serves, and he's played one or two games at LB for us I believe, so there is always that option as well, me personally, I'd like to see us test the resolve of Killie and put in a bid for their LB Greg Taylor, only 21, so plenty of potential, but is having another good season so far. Or, if worse comes to worse, even stick Shinnie back there and bring in a CDM? That's extremely unlikely but it's another option.

Caught the majority of the game on a stream. Considering the amount of game time the same players have had since the Cup Final, you can't help but admire the fitness of these guys. I do think there are some tired body and minds out there, probably evidenced clearly with Calvin Miller's goal last night, Lowe completely done by a simple turn, Logan showing a left footed player the wrong side by trying to show him onto his left foot and McKenna backing off and off until the player gets his shot away, not for the first time that's happened. But that's being pernickity. Stevie May again, working hard and making a nuisance of himself, but I fear his inability to strike a ball with conviction and belief are gone, even the shot that Kenny Miller cleared at the back post, wasn't going in and wasn't hit with any real conviction, despite him being unmarked and under no pressure. But his overall game is in a better place so again, fingers crossed he starts taking these opportunities. Cosgrove, I have praised time and again on here, claimed he was our most effective Striker on here, while knowing that he wasn't a lone Striker by any stretch of the imagination, also knowing that he's still rough around the edges, but I like him, I always have, his game isn't as rounded as Stockley's, but he's certainly improving with confidence. Also dd to that his game is better because he has another Striker working hard beside him, meaning he has less responsibility in terms of winning the ball and holding it up all on his own. Don't think many players put a foot wrong last night, found it odd that we put May wide left and also found it odd that we replaced a forward player for a CDM despite us controlling the game, fairly sure we conceded soon after that change? An unnecessary one in my opinion, I'd have liked to have seen Gleeson replace Ferguson, out of everybody that looks leggy, Ferguson is the biggest, but he performed well last night, so no slight on his performance. Also felt really bad for Forrester, 3 attempts to put a decent ball into the box from a set play, and he hit the 1st man every time, not sure if it was a training ground tactic or if it was just sheer amateurish, in any case, didn't like to see that. Overall, we seem to be heading in the right direction, we're scoring goals and when Devlin & Hoban return, hopefully we go back to being solid as fuck at the back as well as keeping the momentum up top, if that is the case, then I take back what I said a few weeks ago regarding not even finishing in a European place!

Few tweets and the like on Social Media within the last 10-20 minutes there, saying that people in attendance claiming McInnes has all but said that Lowe is away back to Derby in January, and that GMS & Shiinie will be signing elsewhere. Not overly surprised by Lowe, as they have injured LB's and he's performed really well, not overly surprised by Shinnie either if I am being honest, but very disappointed in GMS, as I said in a different thread, I think we are good for him and vice versa, we sort of rescued him from the doldrums at Celtic and honestly thought we'd get at least another year from him. First of all, it's just what is being said from people in attendance, so not concrete confirmation and secondly, not entirely sure it merited a thread on its own, as they may already be a thread elsewhere, but couldn't find it when I typed in to the search bar.

Absolutely no chance of that happening. I'll get a Stevie May tattoo on my bell-end if that happens.

To be fair Al, it wasn't that bad! I am in a Chris Isaak mood, I mind when Phoenixx ( The Legend ) replied to a Chris Isaak post I made a fair while ago, possibly on another forum? Saying he liked Chris Isaak and that he cut a good Jib ( I think was the phrase he used ) so this is for him

Hope you've nae started the wacky baccy min! In all seriousness though, there is a player in Stevie May, he's just devoid of confidence in front of goal, he's had 3 clear cut opportunities in the last 2 games, not in one of those opportunities did I think or believe he'd score though, and neither did he. But this could be the start of him returning to that type of form that earned him a move down South, and clearly working with Cosgrove is presenting him opportunities, he really does need to start taking them though. Can't see there being many changes, if any, to the 11 tomorrow night, so it's as you were, and I expect another tough game, won't be much in it, although we are capable of making sure there IS much in it. But I'll go another 2-1 ( Cosgrove, Considine ) COYR

How was McLennan yesterday, for those that saw/were at the game?
-
Had to go out, so missed the entire match, even the commentary. Seems to be that May is working well with Cosgrove, that's something we should look to continue, no reason to change it if they are creating and scoring? All in all, 3 points away from home and 2 strikers on the score sheet, again, tremendously happy for big Cosgrove, never a lone striker but clearly a handful when in the 2, same could be said for May by the looks of things.

Of course, goes without saying. Also looks like Cammy Smith will be one that he moves on, shame that, thought he was a good fit for them and them for him. Really thought Cammy had the attributes to make it here, let alone at St Mirren, there's a good player in there.

St Mirren form over the last 17 games, in all competitions. P17 W1 D3 L13 Can't really say that Kearney has worked as of yet either, although overall, they're performing slightly better. For me, this is a shoe-in for 3 points. Think Cosgrove and May deserve another opportunity, so echo the sentiments that we should be as you were vs Livingston, only this time, McLennan in from the start for Wright. Can't just expect to turn up and win, still need the effort and determination, but don't think McInnes, as much as he has flaws, can be accused of that attitude of " We only need to turn up " so I expect a comfortable away win. St Mirren 0 - 2 Aberdeen ( Cosgrove, Considine )

Whilst I agree TC, I think it's common knowledge now that Shinnie is a central midfielder, don't necessarily agree with it, but that's where he is now. If Hoban is back and fit, and Devlin as well, then I doubt we'll dip into the market for another LB after all. Considine will revert back to there and Hoban is capable of playing there also. Think Lowe will be a massive loss though, and I don't say that lightly.

Have a feeling we'll be looking for a Left Back, Derby Telegraph reporting that Derby have 1 Fit LB available. Scott Malone is currently the Rams' only fit recognised senior left-back available, with Craig Forsyth set to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury and Marcus Olsson still recovering from his own long-term lay-off. I can't see them buying another when they have a perfectly capable one available to recall in just 3 weeks

Club appealing Cosgrove's yellow for " Diving " Having seen the incident several times on replays etc... firstly, it's not a dive, and secondly, it's actually outside of the box, so would have been a free kick as opposed to a penalty. Won't hold my breath for the appeal to be successful. -
Aye, I mind watching an interview with Hendry, when Higgins was still around and playing, and he was spitting the dummy saying he wasn't participating in a certain event ( Can't remember the event ) if Higgins was. A few of the players had the same attitude as Hendry regarding that event. His Football affiliation has zero bearing on me, I genuinely never knew he was a Hun, just knew him through Snooker his his well documented off table personal issues. I just think he ruined himself with his drinking & Drugs, and struggled to cope with the way Snooker was progressing under Hearn, lots of rule changes and being under the spotlight even more. His kid and ex-wife still hold him in a positive light, so perhaps they understood what he was going through, of course, that doesn't make assaulting a woman acceptable, but she seemed to still have love for him, plenty of interviews and the like to suggest so. And here is Hendry, with a snippet from that autobiography, angry at a few of his fellow pro's for not attending Higgins' funeral. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sunday-life/stephen-hendry-reveals-alex-higgins-threatened-to-live-in-a-caravan-in-his-garden-harebrained-but-harmless-that-was-higgy-37305880.html

Aye, I forgot to mention him in my take of the game, he was very poor. I still want him to succeed, obviously, anyone that puts a Dons Top on, I want them to succeed ( Even May before anyone pipes in! ) but I am beginning to have my doubts sadly, I just think he's not a winger, simple as that, he may come good in the 10 role? But out wide, he's behind McLennan in the pecking order now. -

Started the game well, intent was there and got our reward, lovely assist for Cosgrove, finished well by McGinn, would really rather we skipped the rest of the half after that. The introduction of McLennan was the difference, so much so, they had to make a change 10 minutes into the 2nd half to try and nullify him. Thought Cosgrove & May actually worked well together, really pleased for Cosgrove, he takes a lot of unwarranted stick, stick brought on by our style of play, not his fault, but an assist, a goal and generally a good performance from him. May again, played well, done plenty correct, but how many chances does he need? Two 1 on 1's and hit both straight to the Keeper, they weren't " Good saves " they were poor finishes. But his overall game was good, so perhaps we'll see more of them up front? They certainly caused a very organised and much applauded defence this season, problems. Also, well done to young Ferguson, another big goal, albeit he was largely anonymous throughout the 90 minutes, but he was in the right place at the right time and took that goal brilliantly, he'll develop into a very good player, he just needs to involve himself more, is that down to us largely bypassing the midfield? Could be. Still some negatives tonight, the goals we conceded were shockingly poor, the sooner Devlin is back, the better. Considine was excellent in the Cup Final and then again at Ibrox, but he's been rather piss these last 2 games. Overall, a much needed 3 points, a very good and intense 2nd half, we were relentless and got our just rewards, and much like Rangers in the opening game of the season, that's what happens when you time waste at every opportunity, you concede a late goal Get it right up you, Livingston. -

I am saying absolutely fucking nothing. ( < Other than that ) -
Agree in general here, I think Anderson would thrive with a partner, but I don't think he's ready to play the Lone Striker yet. McLennan played up front with Anderson in the Reserves, both scored for fun, mainly Anderson, as he's clearly a natural finisher. But you are correct, it is how we are set up that is affecting our Strikers, May had MacLean with him at St Johnstone and was more useful, but his time here has been utterly abysmal because he's chasing long balls into channels which is taking him away from the penalty box, but it's got to the stage with him that he doesn't back himself to score now, his confidence is gone for me and he's our " least likely to score " Striker if that makes sense. None of us really know anything about Wilson, he's shown brief flashes of brilliance, but nowhere near enough and I think he's accepted his career is probably in decline and that he won't be staying at Man U when his contract expires. Cosgrove is just a lump, he's decent at taking the ball in and involving those around him, but he's not a Lone Striker either, and again, not sure he backs himself in front of goal either. If I was McInnes and I was trying to make us more of a threat in and around the box, I'd play 2 Strikers, Cosgrove and Anderson. In my opinion, they would compliment each other quite well.
