So youāre saying 2025-26 wonāt be Ambroseā season?? Ā£10m to inter Milan next summer?
-
Other than to find his best form and to renew his contract with us, saving the hassle of buying a new left back. Jackās an odd one, from player of the season to date, and injury, and rarely played in weeks, totally out of favor. Wish the boy well but I think heās been poorly advised.
-
If we can loan miovski we totally do, would be huge, but agree the priority is finding the next bojan. But we have zero high quality forwards and that was obvious this year, itās not just one in we need. Sokler Dabbagh and Ambrose are very likable guys but Iād like to think we can find better than all 3 this summer. We all agree on Ambrose, Sokler has had enough time, and while dabbagh is a bit of a cult hero, heās looked very average, even poor quite often. 3 goals (I think ) plus a penalty in 5 months doesnāt stand out.

Vey proud seeing again and again the celebrations of the fans, and the relationship our fans seem to have with the team/players/club. Also nice seeing pics of Adam Rooney and dean campbell in the crowd, hearing how happy Derek young was in the commentary. Really think we do have a bit of a unique club, something special. -
I think weāre all very emotional and sentimental at the moment. Trust me, Iām over the moon too and watch highlights or penalties every hour! however, is dabbagh any better than sokler? Heās better than Ambrose but I still think if weāre taking a punt on one of our existing strikers, Iāll like it to be bavidge. Sokler dabbagh and Ambrose arenāt going to improve us. We need to replace nisbet and need another forward to push that signing, and itās none of this 3. Two signings plus bavidge. If we loan miovski, highly unlikely I know, then Iād consider keeping sokler since those two played well together. and being more gloom and doom, jimmy just coached a very jimmy type of game successfully. From what I heard, thatās the type of teams and games heās capable of creating. However, he cannot play that way in the vast majority of league games, and has still to figure out style of play and create consistency. One cup win in a one off game doesnāt hide the fact weāve been the worst league team since early November. Feeling extremely optimistic and excited for summer signings. Itās year one of the three year project, or longer. A cup win is great but still lots to do, and new players are needed.
-
Perhaps, I threw him out there a month or two ago when he hadnāt been playing, plus with them being relegated from the championship, I donāt know how that affects Cardiffās finances.
-
Thatās one way to go, but are we padding out with players who will never play, or can we sign Scots, like a Greg Taylor, who make a difference. Heās going to be out of contract, I think heās a good player and would be an excellent signing. Much like David Turnbull, perhaps Watson at killie, maybe itās unlikely but they would be great and Scottish.
-
Na, he sounds too intelligent and articulate for that place.
-
Hale would be a good signing, replacing sokler or Ambrose in the squad. Iād take hale replacing sokler, bavidge replacing Ambrose, and miovski replacing nisbet. Still leaves us the big lump option missing up top though. One scot in the squad and one Scot out. suman is an interesting one, 25 year old Aussie. Not a kid, so Iām assuming heās replacing doohan? Thought our back up keeper would be a Scot to help the quota.
-
Bain wants first team football. Would be ideal, plus Scottish, but hard for him to come here knowing heās back up to mitov. Iād say weāre just as likely to sign Bain as we are Rico. Unfortunately.

Scottish Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic - 24/05

Anyone know who our 5th penalty taker was going to be? Not that we needed 5 to beat Celtic. -
So that two of the quota gone. Keen for rumors, who we gettinā???
-
So based on that, at worst, bavidge since we have so few forwards anyway, Duncan, Boyd, Milne, Delvin, shinnie. That 6, hopefully Mackenzie and perhaps a Scottish keeperā¦ā¦?
-
Looking at Celtic, can we find the next Niall mcginn type? McGinn was out of contract, at least a loan with an agreed price to buy? Daniel Cummings (out of contract I think and is a goal scorer) , Jude bonnar, whatās the deal with Scott Bain if doohan is going there? Is David turnbull realistic now we may have more transfer funds and guaranteed euro footie? Rory Wilson at villa, Bailey rice at rangers?
-
Yeah. I think thatās the concern. We donāt want to pad out the squad with mediocre Scottish players just to meet a quota. Iād even consider Duncan in that category. But who is out there? If we didnāt have mitov then Gunn is a good suggestion, but Iād take mitov over Gunn. Also the reason I wondered if Taylor at left back was a possibility. Got criticized for overly suggesting allan Campbell, especially since heās apparently been rather gash at united, but I suppose itās that type of player, maybe even the Ross McCrorie type, good Scottish talent whose career has stalled for some reason, form or injury. Is allan Campbell a young sivert/shinnie who has lost his way? How about Glenn Middleton? Ross Stewart at Southampton? How about Robby mccrorie, I donāt think heās a legit first choice keeper but similar to doohan with the reminder that Milton has had injuries. David watson at killie is or was highly regarded, Ryan hardie at Plymouth? I think the MLS boys, Ryan Gould and Lewis Morgan are out of our price range? Not recommending, just throwing out names! suggestions??

Seasonās been over for a while now, still no more signings?!! Keen to see who we target. Simply show potential signings footage of the last 24 hrs and you can see how much youāll be loved and how much the dons mean to the city. Been sooo impressed and proud of what Iāve seen the last 24 hrs. Wonder what the new Aussie boy is thinking? I certainly think JTs stock went up, the coach who manufactures this win playing a ānewā formation and taking down a team who smashed us multiple times this year. Think weāre in a good position to recruit right now. definitely think there is now more expectation in the squad building. Donāt intend any meannesss, McGrath is away, but hoping ruby, vinnie sokler dabbagh okkels rich jensen and Ambrose donāt return. even wonder if we can do better than nisbet, esp if we could use those funds to loan miovski. think we build around mitov doohan (he did fine and is Scottish, letās say he stays) devlin tobers Milne molloy kneuster Jensen sivert shinnie topi morris gueye Clarkson palaversa polvara Boyd, plus I hope Mackenzie returns. Add the Aussie. Thatās 19. I think a squad of 24 is about right, excluding Scottish youth coming through. What stands out is we have no forwards and few Scots, needed for Europe. Of this 19 I think we have to expect 2-3 may move on, we may get offers for a Clarkson for example. I could even see us getting offers for gueye or Morris based on their highlights from the year. I also wonder if polvara moves on, and wonder if sivert stays. Iād take the money and run if we get decent offers here. assuming for arguments sake Mackenzie stays, we need to sign a starting holding mid, attacking mid, and center forward. Think we still try to sign a big time winger. We have a keeper and a back 4, I think Clarkson is the only pure starter in midfield, we have topi and the Aussie (or another signing), the other 3 are up for grabs.

I think a bojan loan is a win win. We get a legit striker, they either get a guy who finds form and rejoins them, or heās advertised playing for us and gets sold for decent money. All assuming itās a successful loan. -

Said it yesterday, major credit to Thelin, they gave the guys two days off after the utd game and came up with a one game game plan. Executed it perfectly. However, based on thelinās experience, yesterday was a JT type of game with 19% possession. major credit to the players for executing the plan, everyone did their jobs but special mention to jack Milne who was excellent, plus dorrington really has had a good loan. Fair to say we will not be signing central defenders this summer. Milne tobers kneuster and molloy, plus ruby, we are covered. Although I think we should sell ruby. when was the last time we had a proper preseason? Sounds like we may get rested players who get to play preseason, adding new players more appropriately rather than learning on the fly. Will this influence the timing of adding new players? Would love to see Mackenzie stay, I like the three full backs we have. Curious if we can find a way of utilizing polvara. Think we must sign a legit starting center mid, one to replace shinnie/sivert, no cutting them out but we need a younger version. Plus we must get a legit #10. Also wonder if the funds are now there to loan miovski? -
Good to know, appreciate that. Sounds like itās not that much difference between Europa and conference. We will see the bump playing CL in 2026-27.
-
Saw a stat yesterday that Aston villa earned twice as much for playing champions league compared to spurs who won the Europa league, something like 80m to 40m. Anyone know the financial difference between us playing Europa league or conference league? Assuming we win the competition we play in, given our current success and habit of winning trophies.

Loads of respect for a captain taking the first penalty. Feared for shinnie as his legs were surely fucked by that time. Top don, super penalty leading the way. Polvara too, doesnāt play a lot but class yet again and coolly finished. Dabbagh beauty too, and as for palaversa, barely plays a full game, but to go the whole way and strike the pen so well, amazing. Penalties are luck to an extent, but also preparation. JT got it spot on today. -

So what did mitov say? said it last week too, Morris and gueye are not good enough to be regular starters but both are worth keeping to bring off the bench. They definitely add to the squad. Both definitely played their part today. wonder if today and the European opportunity this autumn will sway a nisbet and or Mackenzie decision about their futures?? -
