Basically Hearts were set to lose Shankland for free last summer, but wanted one more year out of him - which worked well since it almost brought the title.

They're fairly relaxed about it as they expected it to happen and have two replacements lined up.

I do wonder what this means for Miovski though. A few years ago you would have needed to pay big money to sign Shankland & Miovski together. Rangers have got them both for a fraction of the cost. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Miovski is moved on this summer.
