Elgindon Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 (edited) More good drivel from the DT music game - Aoife ODonovan - King of all birds Edited December 10 by Elgindon Quote
Mason89 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Listened to the complete Smiths/Mozz discography but didn’t learn anything new. Morrisseys best solo stuff is better than the Smiths best The Smiths only have one truly shite song and it’s a cover Morrissey has loads of shite songs Vauxhall & I is the best thing he ever did. Vauxhall & I is arguably the best thing anyone has ever did Andy Rourke is underrated as a bass player The single version of This Charming Man is bollocks compared to the Hatful of Hollow version. Like comparing Leon Mike with Duncan Shearer 1 Quote

Although TBF now I think about it I probably listen to Morrissey more regularly than The Smiths nowadays. In particular Vauxhall & I and You Are The Quarry which is a glorious slice of spite couched in pretty synth pop and balladry. But The Smiths will always hold my teenage heart PS Assume you saw Joyce put a book out last month; not read it yet, just heard him on Word podcast . 1 Quote
Mason89 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I heard Mike Joyce getting interviewed about his book on Radio 6. I’ll definitely be giving it a bash, hopefully it’s better than Johnny Marr’s. Quote

tom_widdows Posted Wednesday at 19:42 Report Posted Wednesday at 19:42 (edited) This seems to appeal to me in these 'bizarre' times where swans are declared flightless and manifestos include executions of selected groups https://youtu.be/MM62wjLrgmA?si=nP0uhffF1lKvvrVg Edited Wednesday at 19:44 by tom_widdows Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Not what I am listening to, but more what I just read and about music. Aberdeen, or Kincorth to be more precise, actually has a celebrated song writer. Graham Edwards, from Kincorth, had written hits fir Avril Levine, Britney Spears and Christina Aguiela, amongst others. Article about him on the P&J website and nice to hear of another musuc related success from the city. A belter of a line in the article. "Graham was born in 1959 and brought up in the cold Gorbal-esque tenements of Caisdykes Drive, Kincorth." Quote
Don Julio Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago For those that like a bit of 90s shoe gazing, this is a powerhouse. To be played loud! Trivia fact is that Toni Halliday is the vocalist on Leftfield’s Not Forgotten. Oh, and the video is Dandy compliant, featuring as it does a sheep. What more could you want. Quote
