Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

The Great Gatsby for me tonight - loved it

A lot of folk I know weren't happy with that, but I think they probably expected too much. They didn't like jay-Z which surprises me.

Yes it was rather good Old Sport

Hangover 3 is fairly amusing. I just hope they leave it at this one though. Doesn't need a 4th.

I thought it was pretty poor.  The second one was taking the piss really.

Don't listen to him. You'll enjoy it just fine. Lots of laughs.

I must have missed them!  :-\

I'm nae saying it's a cinematic masterpiece but it's still a funny film.

Hangover - very average. Hangover 2 - shite. Hangover 3 - will probably be absolutely shite but I'm no going to watch it.

Next film I'm looking forward to is Man of Steel.

It shouldn't surprise me that all you music snobs are cinema snobs too. It's ok to like something mainstream you know!

Totally agree.

I don't think you need to be a cinema snob to find the Hangover average.

A poor man's Bachelor Party  ;D

I'm with Kowalski on this one - definitely the poorest film I've seen this year

Went to see Man of Steel last night. Thought it was a really good film and thoroughly enjoyed it. The missus wasn't that keen on it though.

Really enjoyed Rush, would definitely recommend it.

Got to love James Hunt, he was some lad.

Planning to go see that this weekend

Heard good things about Rush so will go and see it at some point. I'm quite looking forward to Bad Grandpa too but I doubt any of you film snobs will admit to watching or liking it.  ;D

Went to see 'Filth' last weekend

Having not read the book I went into it with no expectations or any idea other than what the UK trailers suggested. For me as with 'It's all gone Pete Tong' it is being completely mis-sold it. There are some funny bits but the trailer seemed to imply it was almost a laugh a minute tale of drugs & debauchery akin to 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as opposed to a very dark tale of destruction'. The international trailer tells it a bit more like it is.

Supposed I should have known better given it is Irvine Welsh.

McAvoy was very good though...as was David Soul

Saw the trailer for the yankee remake of 'Old Boy'. Can't say I'll be rushing out to see that one

Fear it has received the same treatment as 'Get Carter'

Pretty much this. I thought it was very good and yes, McAvoy was excellent.

I'm going to see Filth next week and Blue Jasmine today

Ooh and Sunshine on Leith too the following week

You gotta love going to the cinema

I went to see Prisoners. It was ok. Would have been better but I bit my lip in the cinema which darkened the experience.
