Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

Slight left turn here but went to see 'Wreck it Ralph' last night

Not too bad and I liked the premise but not as good as some of the other Pixar films. However it was a free ticket

Downside for me anyway was as per usual unless you were prepared to put up with the 3D shite the latest show time was 645pm.

It still baffles me that couples with upwards of 6 kids will arrive after a film has started into a cinema they know will be packed as its a new release and yet still seem to assume they will easily find 4-8 empty seats next to each other anywhere other than the front section.  Result is they stand about in the aisles looking lost for about 5mins turning the cinema into the Parkhead away section before brains finally kicks into gear.  :hammer:

I really enjoyed Flight. Enjoyed it more than Django, The Impossible and Zero Dark Thirty combined.

Flight was excellent, really enjoyed it too.  Great story.

Aye, I saw Flight the other week. Cracking film and you need to watch it to actually realise it's got very little to do with the actual crash and more so, alcoholism and drug abuse.

Cloud Atlas

Quite a bizarre film all in, really good cast where a lot of the leads play multiple roles in different times.  Has the makings of a cult classic

Watched Lore tonight. Really dark and depressing but completely enthralling. Very good watch, but if you're a weirdo like my housemate and don't watch films with subtitles, avoid.

I didn't cry at The Impossible either

Don't fancy Zero Dark Thirty as I didn't like The Hurt Locker

Going to see Les Mis again next weekend, also Lincoln and Hyde Park on Hudson in the next couple of weeks

Oh and No - the Chilean film nominated as best foreign film and also Amour which is also in that category

That's a lot of popcorn  :o

Right I've now seen all those plus Django last night which was fab

I thought Lincoln was very slow tho Daniel Day Lewis was superb

No was bril and Amour thoroughly deserved to take the oscar for best foreign film, very poignant and quite harrowing

Next for me is probably To the Wonder and The Spirit of 45

Agreed, Lincoln was baws and Django Unchained good.

Thought Django was meh aside from Waltz.

I think it was just violence without substance.

Pretty much my take on it. Waltz and Jackson made it worth watching.

Seen three documentary films recently - The Imposter, Marley and Searching for Sugar Man.  Thought they were all very good indeed!

searching for sugar man was excellent. Quite humbling really, as well as being completely bizarre.

Wasn't too sure about Marley. Decent enough watch but possibly a bit too long.

Ironman 3 is fab

Ooh and the Star Trek trailer looked interesting  ;D

avoiding the star trek trailer like the plague, really want to go into that movie not knowing a thing about it.  Managed to do so with the last one and it was well worth the effort, i hate how much information is released about films these days

Oblivion was ok but having seen a certain low budget independant by David Bowie's son a few years back I was better placed to explain it to my 2 mates at the end

Iron Man 3 got a 7.5 out of 10 for me! Nice end to the films. Will be buying the boxset when it comes out.

Fit's with you always watching shite films, Jager? In a complete contrast I watched Lady & The Tramp at the weekend for the first time since I was a kid. Fucking hell. I was not prepared emotionally for that.
