I personally find the behaviour of this JMG mob, a total and utter fucking disgrace to the city of Aberdeen, Aberdeen FC and to the other fans of Aberdeen FC. Patting themselves on the back for a 'job well done' whilst also celebrating JC's achievement of getting into Europe is so utterly cretin like, it is beyond belief. 30 or so 'supporters' standing outside the Main Stand for 30 minutes with A4 bits of papers DOES NOT decide an important business decision. No doubt they will be celebrating European ties next season and for that, they can thank Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl. No doubt it will be twisted as to this group of supporters, were actually the ones to thank as they said this to that person over there who believed that this player should be played here and in a 4-4-2 formation. Give yoursel's peace. This lot is so utterly up their own arses, that they can not see the bigger picture and applaud the job that JC has done. And why?

Because of a childish disliking to him. They cannot for once give credit where credit is due and instead, would rather inflate their already massively inflated egos of themselves and their opinions. Instead they will celebrate European football and will not rest until McGhee is the new manager, singling him out as someone who plays total football and in no doubt, is the saviour of Aberdeen Football Club.

Calderwood's achievements at this club has never been good enough for them and will never will be. Patting each other on the back is more important that applauding the work of, perhaps, one of the most important managerial appointments, in this clubs history.

Well boys, the grass is not always greener on the other side and I hope, for your sake and the sake of fellow fans, that the next manager is not a 'fat orange tango hun'.

Ha Ha Ha Ha you been on the Mushrooms

Why would that be then lad?

Because Aberdeen had been in the doldrums for years? Calderwood came in and significantly turned this club around for the better. He came in, painted the stadium, renewed optimism, installed a determination and made Aberdeen into a hard to beat outfit, he started to turn around the whole playing staff and made Aberdeen football club, a respectable outfit again. If it hadn't been for Calderwood and Nicholl, then christ knows where Aberdeen would be today. He has attracted a number of quality players to this football club, all of which have contributed significantly to the club and the good times of Calderwood's reign which will be remembered by fans. Calderwood changed and improved the side and the club year after year and has now left the club in a healthy position with European football on the horizon and a playing staff which, far from the complete overhaul which was required when he arrived, is in need of some minor tinkering.

Calderwood brought this club from it's knees and has provided the next manger a very healthy position to build upon.

I didn't know Calderwood was a painter!

Feck off!

Calderwood came in and was immediately shocked by what poor shape the stadium walls etc was in and so immediately got a painter to give the stadium a bright new paint over.

A symbolic show of a fresh start if you will.

Well, i for one, am glad jimmy has left. for his sake. how many managers would stay at a team knowing there is a good percentage of fans who dislike you. even if we won a european cup they would have been ready to pounce!  all he did was try his best and in doing so regained afc its dignity.  top six finishes and a european campaign that will live with me til the grave. good luck jimmys and sandy!  as for the pathetic boo-boys, you got your wish. remember skovdahl!

Was this so-called fan power ever perceived as a real issue though? - pretty sure that JC, WM and SM werenae regulars on t'internet chat forums - therefore apart from the 'protest' after the ICT game what pressure did the fans put on the management?, there was no mass protests, no boycotting of games (crowds are up), no chanting for them to go, christ there wasnae even a hand-made JMG banner made from a spunk stained bedcover to be seen

But we all know they must have existed with that lot.

Article in this morning's Retard:

JIMMY Calderwood sensationally quit Aberdeen last night - immediately after leading the club back into Europe.

He summoned his players to a lounge in the Dick Donald Stand and revealed he is leaving by "mutual consent".

But the decision was forced on the Dons boss by a board divided on whether he was the right man to take the club forward. And talks have already been opened with Mark McGhee of Motherwell who looks set to be announced as the new manager this week.

Calderwood and his management team received a pay-off of more than £1million. A section of the Red Army never accepted Calderwood as a result of his boyhood allegiance to bitter rivals Rangers and he was repeatedly targeted on websites and phone-ins this season.

The Scottish Cup defeat by Dunfermline intensified the pressure and the AFC Trust called on chairman Stewart Milne to sack him. Milne eventually bowed to that pressure and reached an agreement with Calderwood that it was in the best interests of both parties he should leave.

After the win over Hibs, which clinched the last place available in the new Europa League, Calderwood said: "It's a sad day but Jimmy Nicholl, Sandy Clark and I felt unable to take this club any further.

"This is all about the fans and when the board begins to doubt your methods it is time to go. "We leave with our heads held high because Aberdeen are in a much stronger situation than when we took over.

"Relegation is no longer an issue, as it was before, and we have never been out the top six in the SPL. "We have come here and I think we have had a wonderful record, Jimmy, Sandy and I.

"Probably outside the Old Firm people say that's not enough but you see the difference in terms of yesterday with Inverness going down after five teams had been battling to beat the drop right to the end.

"Aberdeen are in Europe for a second time now so it's absolutely fabulous. We've a surplus in our transfer dealings and haven't had much money to spend so I'm proud of my record. "I will recharge the batteries over the summer but I still hope to stay in football."

In a statement released on Aberdeen's website last night, football director Willie Miller praised Calderwood for turning the club around.

He said: "I would like to thank Jimmy for the substantial contribution he made in stabilising things over the past five years, including qualifying for Europe today.

"When he arrived there was a massive rebuilding task required and subsequently we have seen the fruits of their efforts with regular top-six finishes.

"While the absence of a domestic cup continues to be a source of frustration to everyone at the club they can be proud of what they have achieved."

Fecking hell........I don't want Dingus anywhere near our managerial hotseat.

£1m pay off.......lost for words.

Which one is it Jimmy? It can't all be about the fans if the board are doubting your methods.

to be honest Al, I don't think the pay off would have been anywhere near that amount.

To the boy outside the Pitt bar celebrating Calderwood's exit and saying he hoped we got Yogi Hughes in for the great fitba...

May you enjoy the relegation dogfight of samba fitba

And yet, was it not only last season we had to beat Falkirk in the last pre-split game to squeeze into the Top 6.

humpings from the old firm
Aye, because we've never had those.......

getting beat in a cup final
as opposed to getting horsed in the semi-finals

And for those fans who seemed happier to celebrate the manager being sacked than celebrating Europa cup fitba - you have the team you deserve

*MG

It is indeed hypocritical to celebrate the achievements of the manager whilst at the same time being delighted he has gone......

Personally, I'm pleased we've managed to sneak into the Europa League and am ambivalent over the removal of JC.  I suspect once we know the identity of his replacement, we will have an idea of how ambitious the club is.
