I think he was the best option to avoid relegation and it will be interesting to see what he can do with a pre season and bigger budget.

 I would Imagine his first signings will players who can't  be bullied on the pitch like some of our current squad

name a foreign manager that has done well in Scotland. There’s not many. Motherwell are not the norm. Rohl is on a good run, but they still aren’t a great side. Robinson is not glamorous, but smart. It’s been a shit show two month shut maybe it ended for the best?

 
the guy is proven to be able to coach in this league. This season for st mirren is more the exception than the norm for him, a he still won a cup, and is still in another….well, was! Knows the situation more than most. Knows us and what the fans expect. There are no surprises for him. He also is very well prepared for opponents, even for the next 9 games. 
 

his style of play may not be great but I am sure there will be demands of quality football. At the same time, Mcinnes did not always play quality football. Win games and he’ll get support. He’ll also get a bigger budget, and a network of scouting that’s probably bigger than at st mirren. 
 

id take killian Philips over Armstrong, palaversa, and possibly Geiger and afeez. Not meaning we sign him, but if he can get Philips to play like he’s doing, maybe he gets more out of our bunch.

The style of play thing is often a nonsense to my mind these days.  You can play direct football and it still be exciting as long as plenty chances are created.  As you say, Deek didn't (and still doesn't) play the most open, expansive game but 3 points will always be king and it's why he stayed with us for 8 seasons.  Style of play isn't particularly important for us right this very second, points on the board are and, as I said yesterday, Robinson will hopefully be able to unite what looks to be a fractured dressing room.

I’m starting to warm to the appointment, probably blind optimism. At the very least I expect him to sort out our defence however it doesn’t help that most/all of our half-decent defenders are all injured. 

So Robinson gets my full support and let’s hope for a new manager bounce on Saturday!

Maybe. Or was it simply the final acceptance that enough is enough and we need someone now? If you are in the club, do you wait for the perfect girl? At some point decisions have to be made or you’re going home alone.
