Firstly no intention to wind up Rico ( but it is a bonus) by starting this more than forty eight hours ahead of January window closing BUT as a squad we are all over the fucking place and even at this early stage I would imagine we all would have opinions on what need to happen over the summer.

Appreciate that certain things might be addressed in the remaining forty eight odd hours of the winter one BUT given our performance to date, coupled to us being manager less, I wouldn't stake any money on it

I think Docherty would be a good signing but, on the grounds he probably wont sign or end up being shite if he does, I feel it necessary to declare him a useless Hun chunt.

I suspect Robinson will continue to keep them playing development football until such times he realises he is trouble and by that time will be too late

I said last season that we needed an upgrade on Devlin but Cadden isn’t it

Sounds exactly what we are missing in center mid, a shinnie replacement to play alongside afeez with Ronan ahead of them. The way the season has gone, I expect him to sign for someone else.

If we are after Docherty, we would be going a bit top heavy on midfielders. Robinson has said he wants two players for every position, but I would make it seven players trying to fit into three positions, eight if you include Marshall who hasn't gone out on loan as expected. Nine if Palaversa doesn't leave.

Maybe we'll see the return of the 4-1-3-2 he trailed at Dundee on the final day of last season. Essentially a 4-4-2 diamond. It would suit a few players like Smith, Armstrong and Ronan, although not convinced we have the full backs to provide the width. But I'd prefer it to seeing numerous players asked to play as wingers when they aren't.

Top heavy on midfielders who are exactly the same though. We've currently got Aremu as a holding midfielder, Lyons to do the legwork, and the rest are basically the same player. Docherty, if he's now the box to box player, is the replacement for what Briedl was expected to be, and hopefully ahead of Lyons.

If we get Docherty in, then I'd expect both Palaversa and Marshall to be released. I think Briedl will be one who just quietly sits around until being released or loaned in January.

The lower leagues in Scotland can still loan players until the end of September so plenty time for Marshall to go somewhere if that's the plan.

He was at the Arbroath game last weekend, I expect that's where he'll be shortly. I wonder if we are waiting for another in the door before letting him go. I don't like to see that approach, McInnes was bad for it. We'd keep a young player for our bench for six months, giving them less than ninety minutes in total, just so that we have cover if players get injured. Then when the injuries occurred, McInnes would end up playing a player out of position instead anyway. We should be doing whatever is best for Marshall right now, not the short term interests of the club or a particular manager.

Suman must be really pish if this lad is being brought in to play ahead of him. As far as I can see highest level he has played minutes at is German 3rd tier and even then only 8 games.

From your seven, smith is a winger, briedl appears to be a bust. Armstrong turns 35 this season, Lyons and Ronan had injury concerns when we signed them and both have already been injured. Maybe add afeez in there too, plus I see afeez get one or two reds this season and a suspension, plus yellows so won’t last 90. Don’t know if Marshall is good enough to get regular minutes.

Definitely feel there’s a need for docherty.

No sure I can handle the heat here and I his level of excitement at my age.

Surely there's a Scottish keeper out there that's at least equally capable of warming our bench ahead of this guy who's played a literal handful of games in his entire career. It's not even as if it would have been possible to scout him in an actual match. The carbon footprint alone is mind-boggling.

Perhaps Livingston believing he was better in that position is one of the reasons they were relegated.

Lewis Smith also played a number of different positions last season, including as forward and defensive midfielder.

But, I'm giving my opinion. I've seen him play on the wing against Dundee, and I've seen him play through the middle, which is what I'm basing it on - he is more suited to playing through the middle, much like Stuart Armstrong. We should be trying to play to their strengths.

Who has ever claimed Armstrong, Olusanya or Ntelo are wingers? Smith looks and plays like a winger.
