Summer 2026 Transfer Window

Firstly no intention to wind up Rico ( but it is a bonus) by starting this more than forty eight hours ahead of January window closing BUT as a squad we are all over the fucking place and even at this early stage I would imagine we all would have opinions on what need to happen over the summer.

Appreciate that certain things might be addressed in the remaining forty eight odd hours of the winter one BUT given our performance to date, coupled to us being manager less, I wouldn't stake any money on it

Thoughts lads and lassies

If we bought him, he publicly apologised, took out a two page spread in the P&J outlining all the different ways Huns are pricks, then did a penitent walk of shame from Union St to Pittodrie, I’d

Also, it's good that Besuijen's 10 year contract has finally come to an end.

There is an element of our support who seem to think Bavidge would be the next King Joey if we'd just give him minutes.

I'd settle for another Darren Mackie.  Unfortunately he might not even be that but probably worth a punt rather than another "project" debacle.

I'm delighted we are going to give both of them a chance. Can't be any worse than Ambrose, Yengi or Olusanya. Folk say the 2 Alfie's are not good enough for us. Well i say give them the opportunity to show us what they can do and prove otherwise.

I don't think he'll be as useful as Mackie. Mackie was similar in attributes to Olusanya. Bavidge seems to be similar to someone like Bruce Anderson. Technically good, but not particularly fast, not really got a burst of pace over ten yards either, and not 6ft4 or as wide as Curtis Main. Those physical attributes are difficult to engineer in a player. Striker is a very hard role without at least one of them.

I agree with the overall point about project players, but I also don't think that should be a reason for bringing through a youth player if the trajectory seems insurmountable either due to physical attributes or ability.

I'm guessing Bavidge will go out on loan again next season anyway. One of the slightly pernicious aspects of the development loan system is that it allows us to hold onto players like Bavidge, who would otherwise have just gone to ICT permanently, and utilise a team like Arbroath to de-risk our development. I'm not quite sure the balance is correct and necessarily good for lower clubs or young players. Although it undoubtedly benefits other young players, so it certainly isn't black and white. It does greatly benefit us.

From what I saw of Stewart last season, I’ve wanted to see him get a run in the first team to see if he could step up. Hopefully he gets his chance.

Me too, albeit he has been a good player, at his age he was not the answer

Jensen being linked with a move to Malmo in Sweden.

I’ll chip in for the ticket.

Krona, pounds we can't afford to give them that much!

Ryan Duncan confirmed as away.

Linked with a switch to Ross County.

Good luck to the loon.

Anthony Joseph reporting we have offered Shinnie a two year contract but apparently the club and player are miles apart from agreement.

Contract includes coaching role.

ICT supposedly monitoring the situation with a view to making an offer to him.

I’ve been telt he’s defo away to ICT.

Not a fan of Robinson by all accounts.

2 year deal would be mental like…

Not if used correctly and coaching being part of the deal.

Sounds like he is off though and the fact he never started last Tuesday night, made me suspect he was off, so what you have posted sounds like it could well be true.

Shinnie will always be one of my most favourite players.

Certainly no beef with Shinnie if he does indeed head off. Shame it’s worked out the way it has but I can’t shake the thoughts that he’s helped see off a number of managers. Anyway, he played for the shirt and for that I’ll always be grateful, hope it works out for him at ICT.

Callum Slattery is leaving Motherwell. Believe we were interested, but he wasn't.

Couple of Partick Thistle players on our radar so wouldn't be surprised to see Stephen Robinson at Firhill on Thursday.

Slattery would have been good. Nevermind.

Stanway is an interesting one. I struggle to get a guage on him. He looks very good, covering a lot of ground and making good runs late into the box. Would be a good replacement for Shinnie I think. I just don't know if he's quite good enough to make the step up. It could be that he's one of those guys that has all the right attributes but he's only got them at 80% of an SPFL player in his role! It's worth a punt though.

It broke way back in mid January that we were looking at Stanway on a pre contract.

We are now four months on and nothing concrete.

Can't help but wonder if it was going to happen it might have happened by now, unless of course it has and both parties agreed to keep it under wraps until season end, of that makes sense 🤔

Could be the loon isn't interested in coming to us.

We're not exactly a great proposition for players trying to further their careers.
