Jesper Karlsson loan deal been ended by Bologna and they are sending him to Utrecht.

Thank fuk for that Happy Days 👍

That'll be the guts of £10k per week saved.

Hopefully we can get two or three semi competent team players for the wage we were paying that maverick

I had a while back heard it was closer to 15 we were paying him but that is unconfirmed.  And 2bh I wouldn't like it to be

That would have been the alcohol. The boy was knocking back a serious amount of booze.

He was pals with a boy I worked with at the time, who would knock back anything put in front of him and I know first hand McKinnon was his equal on that front.

Fair play for remembering him though, I had banished him from my memory.

We've had some shyte over the years.

I used to work with his (now deceased) dad, a building industry lecturer, who bore the same name.
He was very loyal to ‘Raymond’ but limited any out-of-school tales to those of Clough’s fondness for booze, which he said was one of the reasons that the loon got out of Nottingham.
I thought he’d be a good signing, but I’d been equally enthusiastic when we signed Tommy Rae from Firhill in 1968…..

On the Karlsson front.  I thought he started well then settled into our squad and got worse.

I've said it for some time, the culture in the squad is rotten and has been since dels last couple of seasons.

New faces come in , we have a revival and then they settle in to the same pattern.

What needs to change because it can't just be managers.

We need a core group to establish culture. Without that the team has no identity. We have shinnie and Devin, and that’s pretty much it. Hard to gain success when you patch a team of random folk together every year. Players like Watson, the two current loaners, Milne, lobban etc could have a long term influence, but we desperately need a long term shinnie replacement/a captain to lead by example.

So that’s Olusanya in the door, who is next? We’ve been linked with graham at Dundee and Stanway at thistle, any other noise out there? From what I read both of those Scottish boys would be decent additions. Stanway a holding mid? Winger??

interesting there’s been no movement with David Watson to anyone….yet.

Rumours of a £1m offer for Graham from down south so I'd be surprised if we end up getting him.

Stanway's a centre mid. Seems to be on the defensive side but does seem to score once every 8 or 9 games so must get near the box on occasion.

Regarding the culture, hopefully that's something the sporting director role is here to fix but it's not going to happen overnight.

Re olusanya, looks like a player who’d play alongside nisbet or lazetic. Are we planning on two up top?? Certainly gives us a different look, just as long as he doesn’t continue his scoring against us. Or do we see him shunted out to right mid for the Morris role?

BBC Gossip Page today: "Hearts are hoping to beat Norwich City to the signature of 25-year-old striker Kasper Hogh, who scored a double in Bodo/Glimt's Champions League win over Manchester City. "

BBC Sport webpage 2 days ago: "A fee of just over £6m is thought to be enough to acquire Hogh and BBC Norfolk understands , externalthe former Denmark Under-21 international wants to join the Championship club."

Either Hearts are really going for it or BBC need to curate their gossip sources a wee bit better.

Olusanya's record doesn't exactly scream "prolific" but if we feel we're lacking in grafters who will run all day and generally be a nuisance then he should at least bring that? Kinda in line with Pfannensteil's comments about having a squad of good footballers who don't fit together to make a team.

That's the optimistic Friday morning viewpoint anyway.

A decent interview with the loon.

Disappointing only in his omission of any reference to Huns and Tims being bigoted inbred throwbacks, Shankland being a lead-swinging tossbag, and of the necessary desire to avenge the Jute assault on Funso Ojo

Not convinced by this one at all. Didn’t think he was that great at St Mirren for most of his time there.

Use of noun as adjective. 😬

We may as well go all out and get Curtis Main back.

Works hard, not prolific and ticks a further box by knowing the club.

Apologies for not feeling the love on this one.

If he scores the winner against Livi tomorrow, I change this post to say I never doubted him.

If he's pacy and "unpredictable" maybe he'll at least give us some Shady Mo-esque chaos off the bench?

Chaos reminds me more of Pape Gueye

Unfortunately he's not a winger though. But, aye, he's definitely a good signing on that front. Run in a straight line and harass defenders. A Sokler replacement if you like.

Edit: a loan deal, for this type of player is completely acceptable. A potential super sub with a bit of experience. Probably not likely to be a long term solution but may allow us to test out new systems that would suit a player of his profile. Crucially, not a type of player that we already have.
