Really hope the club start to target some Scottish players.  Looks like we are likely to lose Jack McKenzie which would only leave Shinnie and Devlin as the only Scottish first team regulars.  Massive

Going to become a waste of time clubs in Scotland developing young players. Even Victims cannot hang on to young players with 18 year old striker Cummings allegedly going to West Ham.

Aye, it does make you think doesn't it. The statement we made about the Barron fiasco makes even more sense in light of these developments.

Aye, people like me are fairly quick to give the club hassle for not playing youth, but this is a big problem. We're probably only ever likely to get two or three youth players coming through that will make it in any one batch. I think Pirie and now Carrol are two that didn't even make the bench yet (maybe they did, I can't remember, no minutes though). That's basically an entire year group of youth ruled out.

Makes me mad as a hatter to see us lose kids like this to clubs that will probably never play them.  Still, you can't blame the lad.  He's probably grinning like a Cheshire cat at what his bank balance is going to show in the morning. I hope for his sake he doesn't end up wistfully staring through the looking glass at what might have been though.

Benfica will be due a fair bit of that fee though. We're they getting 50% of sell-ons? Glad he's gone though. Can we throw in Ambrose as a bonus?

BOGOF 😉

Duk,...what a waste.Slightly gutted

Youth players - If theyre seeing the chances of even getting on the bench as remote, weighing it up,probably makes sense(to them/parents) to grab what they can down South

Good. Eighteen months of unprofessionalism and just generally being shite, alongside eighteen months of hope that the original Duk might return. It was all too much.

We would only get 300k of that with rest going to benfica but that's more than I thought we would get for him.

They're going to be pissed when they realise they've actually signed Charles Dodgson.

Seriously though, Lewis was always going to head south given the level of interest - we did well to sign him up to a pro deal last year and (hopefully) secure a decent fee.

Duk seems a decent deal too, could've left for free this summer and yet we've manage to recoup most of what we paid for him and stick on a sell-on to boot.

Hopefully JT gives him priority on the field, and doesn't keep sharing the #9 time equally amongst him, Ambrose (who should be Duk's surprise +1 in that deal) and Nisbet (who just hasn't worked out for us)

Well, Thelin can't say he hasn't been backed by the board.   We seem to have largely signed in the right places at least.

Did we get the PSV kid?

No word yet but interesting AFC haven't made a statement to say transfer business is complete.

Believe if papers have been lodged with the relevant associations then you get until midnight to complete

Guess the same applies to Duk as no confirmation of this one either

Was going to say similar, it’s admin hour now. Really hope duk is gone, Ambrose out on loan, and uneken in.

Duk is registered with Spanish authorities.

Uneken loan deal not happening 🙄

We've managed to hold onto Ambrose, that's the main thing. It's always a worry in January.
