I read a book a year or so, about Alistair Urquhart, who was interned in a Japanese prisoner of war camp.
I was saddened to see that he past away at the age of 97.
He joined the Gordon Highlanders in Aberdeen at the start of the WW2. The experiences he went through were just shocking. He was only 10 miles away from Nagasaki when they dropped the bomb......
It's well worth a read. It's called " The forgotten Highlander"

Anyone know of some good podcasts?
Does not have to be football based. It can be Music, comedy, books, travel etc, etc, etc.....
I've been having a look myself, but what a lot of shite you have to go through before you find a decent one.
Cheers.
I really think that McInnes has Storie pencilled in for the CM position. It would be great if we had a "marque" player coming in. But, I can't see that happening now.
Question. Over here, they only really show on TV events that Australians are taking part in.
Is It like that back home with the British athletes? When I lived back home, I never remembered that happening.
It has really put me off the Olympics.
I have to say that when I saw that we had signed him, I had a bit of a "meh" moment. But after reading baggy's post, I have a wee bit more of a good feeling in his signing.
Aye, that clip is horrendous. Personally, I don't know how they can walk around taking video of that carnage. It's not the first thing that I would think of doing.
