  1. Just been told that there is flooding on the line between Dundee and Aberdeen and that passangers are being bused from Dundee. At the moment they expect this to continue for a few days so will be on tomorrow. Going to effect travel times and more importantly the size of carry out as no beer will be allowed on buses.
  2. Positives - We won, Seve, Considine and Mulgrew all looked good and Wright looks enthusiastic. Negatives - Way we played. Very negative with 10 men behind the ball for most of the match and our one attacking option seemed to be just to punt the ball long at Millers head. If we continue in this style I will struggle to justify the money to go for very little entertainment in return. Also have to say that Wright needs to watch his challanges as from todays evidence he is a red card waiting to happen. With a squad as small as ours we cannot afford to have a player who will end up spending large parts of the season sitting in the stand suspended.
  3. Buggar. Means a nice sprint through Glasgow to get last train home for a midweek game as 2213 train gets into Central at 2309 and last train to Edinburgh is 2330!
  4. With the signing of Tommy Wright that is almost a cert.
  5. Seve is not a centre half. He should be playing in midfield alongside Kerr however that is unlikely to happen as we are short a centre back.
  6. Minimum top 4 finish but doing it playing better football this year.
  7. Any of the east coast teams would do me.
  8. Brunstane is now sleeping in the corner of the bar. Again!! Having a mental time in Holland. Theo was a star last night just a pity we could not make Twente game tonight.
  9. Is that not roughtly the article we have seen from Hart, Anderson, Nicholson and McNaughton in last few years and all have left?
  10. Agree with you. Miller and Smith is our best (probably only IMO) pairing. Not seen Wright so cannot say anything about him but other two just simply are not up to the job. However as K9 points out if we take Smith out of our midfield we do not have a creative player in there.
  11. Think Tims will be to stong for Huns this year especially with the traitor Smiths insistance on not playing his best strikers while do not think there is anything between any of the teams listed between 3rd to 10th though and all are capable of finishing anywhere within that range. Think ICT and Killie look a lot weaker than the rest and the relegation place will be between these two.
  12. Celtic Rangers Dundee United Motherwell Aberdeen Falkirk Hibs Hamilton St Mirren Hearts ICT Kilmarnock Think Jager is right is and new hears boss will beat JJ to the bullet but only just. Also think teams shown from 3rd to 10th are pretty much inter changeable.
  13. You have not seen how bad Foster and Duff have been at right back have you. Maybury was a decent enough player and way better than what we currently have but not worth braking the bank for. Sure there are plenty of similar standard players out there that will come to us for less money.
  14. Of course they are not or players would be able to quit with giving notice like the rest of us.
  15. In industry its the fear of being sued that prevents employers forcing folk back to work. Not the same fear for football clubs.
  16. Guy who was on bench last night looked nothing like a tank more like a rake. Looked like he would snap in two in the first tackle he made.
  17. If the manager is desperate enough then yes.
  18. Cracking goal from Young although nobody looked like more surprised than him when it went in. Better performance than the Dundee game but still pretty poor. Foster JDV and Mackie all crap. Mulgrew looked pretty decent going forward but maybe suspect defensively. There was a trailist (french centre half I was told) on the bench but oddly he never got on even when Zander went off.
  19. £6 is a bonus. Means more money for carry out for journey up.
  20. Surely players will put on a show to make up for previous two matches. Anyone know what the price is at the gate for Brechin tomorrow?
  21. Given the bank would not let us keep our existing level of debt last year when we had to get loans from Aberdeen Asset Management Trust and SMG to reduce the level of debt I cannot see them allowing us 5 times the debt.
  22. Heard it all before and will here it again if we continue to play players of the standard of Duff, Mair and Foster.
  23. Lovell is a far better player than Maguire and Mackie. When the ball was played to his feet he invariably scored. Sadly we just punted the ball at his head last year as we did not have the players capable of playing the ball to his feet. If he goes to Falkirk or Hibs who do have players capable of playing that way then this will bite us in the arse.
  24. We need to move to sell the ground to clear the debt within 4 years when bank, Aberdeen Asset Trust and SMG all come looking for there money.
  25. Agree sounds like a club desperately trying to cover up fact that stadium plan is as good as dead.
