  1. I think Stoney is on a long haul fishing trip with this one. I don't think anyone can really be stupid enough to continually peddle what he does whenever he talks about Maguire.
  2. Forgot two other reasons for my intense dislike of Liverpool. Sammy Lee. Every time ITV show one of their games they get Jim Beglin on to commentate. I think he may be up there with the most biased ever.
  3. I assume it was that they have actually now played every league team as they played Annan at home last season, but I don't think they have played at Annan either.
  4. The one that gets me is Suarez against Ghana. People called him a cheat, but yet he didn't cheat at all. He did something, was properly punished for it and Gyan missed the resultant penalty. In what way, shape or form can you call that cheating. In that respect, any challenge which results in a free-kick is cheating, any deliberate handball is cheating and so. Then the next aspect of cheating is if you do something, intentionally or not which gains you an advantage and the referees don't notice it, which breaks the rules. Henry's is an example. He broke a rule, but got away with it. Is he meant to then inform the referee of this. I think it would be silly to suggest that. To me cheating is when you try to gain an advantage by carrying out an action to try and con the referee. A dive, whenever, is cheating. Some of your other suggestions would be cheating Bobo, though the free-kick one is up to the referee to decide where it is taken from. Not every player can no exactly where the foul occurred.

Watched the Untouchables tonight. Genuinely felt as if I was watching a spoof of a mob film. Found the acting to be almost comical at times, and certainly overacted. Story was poor. Just didn't really get how it could be described as one of the best mob films going (think the box oversold it)...
  6. I hate them too. Despise them. I think it is in part the elitisim of their fans (seems a Scouse thing in general) that they are the best fans going, and how a European night in the Kop is like no other. I think in part it is the Rafa years, and how I really disliked the guy. Yet you can still barely say a bad word about him to Liverpool fans without getting your head bitten off. Then there is Carragher's stupid face. Finally, they remind me of Celtic far too much. On that last point, the appointment of Dalglish till the end of the season and the reaction of the Liverpool fans just reminds me of Celtic and the premise they have with the "Celtic-minded." Despite having no involvement in the day to day running of a club at manager level in the best part of a decade (where he even failed) they think he is the second coming (or should that be third). Then they go on to say he will instil the true meaning of Liverpool through training, team talks etc, as if that would make a difference to the overpaid "superstars" in their squad. While Hodgson was failing and probably had to go, I struggle to see how any Liverpool fan can truly be happy with this appointment, plenty are. Oh well, happy days for me as far as Liverpool are concerned in the short term...
  7. Well, there wasn't any news on the guy at the time and we were waiting for you to turn up with the facts of the matter so that we were better informed.
  8. What is your problem. It gavel of us a laugh...
  9. He is well known for lighting up a game with his special trick. It is called "Alan Turn."
  10. If the boy came on this thread, he would surely dredd the prospect of coming up to Aberdeen...
  11. Heard he played a game of 1 on 1 against the world's female player. It was a gubbing, he em, barrister...
  12. Yep, I still hope that he can come up and jury lee well...
  13. Thank god Goodwillie is a shining beacon for the English language in his interviews. While Goodwillie has a better strikerate, he is utilised as an out and out striker. Maguire never will be that type of player. Both have got great potential and hopefully they can meet that potential as it could only be a good thing for Scotland.
  14. This is beginning to offend me greatly. To even things up I might just cracker joke against the whites...
  15. I always assumed (and completely unfounded at that) that we would just continue paying Foster's wage and they'd continue paying Velicka's. Both clubs have someone that their respective manager's thought they needed more without any additional cost... Seems sensible (ignoring the fact it was our only fullback) to me...

Saw it in the cinema when it came out and thought it was pretty good, but wasn't sure if it would be worth an other watch. Now, I can't remember a thing about it, so maybe it could be worth a purchase on DVD...
  17. I think there has been a general improvement in his attitude on the pitch from the off this season. He seems to work hard in every game, though I think he still gets absorbed in how well he is doing at times over the team, resulting in moments of selfishness, or when it is not going well, daft reckless challenges. If Brown manages to help him channel in to working for the team, which it appears so far he is doing, it can only be a good thing.
  18. Come on, he is a goalkeeper, it must be a hard habit to kick...

Of course you have to have an interest in a genre even if it has widespread acclaim... I have no interest in space type sci-fi stuff, so I have not enjoyed any attempt I have made to watch any of the Star Wars films. They are all classics though. Same with the Lord of the Rings, magic/fantasy and the likes do nothing for me, so I found them overly long and boring. If you don't like the genre, then you may just about appreciate some of it, but you are never going to truly enjoy it. I am not having a go at your opinion though, just seems that when you go on about wankfests over it and the likes, it almost seems like you didn't really want to enjoy it...

Are you actually a fan of this genre of film? If you are and you are classing it as average, I really don't understand it. The story is compelling, the acting top notch, the soundtrack and so on. I can not think of many films that match it for character development either.

Though you will undoubtedly now watch part III and call it a masterpiece...
  22. In/oot: Not got a ticket yet, but might go along. Didn't make it in to Aberdeen on New Year's Day till 4.30, so yet to see Craig Brown's Dons. Prematcher: Arsenal v Leeds on the TV. Match: South Stand Postmatcher: Da ken, don't think Stevenage v Newcastle is terribly appealing. Quiet night though. Prediction: Boring pedestrian victory. 2 or 3 to nil.
