  1. I think most peoples problem is not that we lost but in the way that we lost. If we had got beat 4-1 but it looked like we were even making it hard for celtic I am sure that many fans would not be as hurt as they were or are. The big problem is that we made it far too easy for them as you yourself have alluded to in your second paragraph.
  2. From what I have seen it is SSN that is saying this right enough. Newcastle have said they have received a 30 million bid but have refused to name the club. Again that is according to SSN though so there is a good possibility it is pure shite.
  3. In/Out: In Pre-match: no idea Match: RDL Post-match: Hotel Prediction: 0-2
  4. Nae bother. Just tuned into channel 993 the now to watch it. Meant to say that Dundee United are beating relegation bound hibs 1-0. Daly in the 13th minute.
  5. Agree with this. As I said elsewhere I left after the third but even after the first and second went in the singing in the area was still going quite strong.
  6. I left after the third. It looked like it was going to be another 9-0 at that point and I was not staying to watch it. I had not seen the team or the way it was going to be set out prior to the game as if I had then I, like Jute, may have considered staying in the pub.
  7. Through my vodka induced haze last night I said pretty much the same thing. We get near to having a chance of success and we bottle it. It has happened far too many times.
  8. Huns are in advanced talks to sign david healy according to some bloke who works for STV.
  9. Same as myself dave. Couple of pints in the local and then off to bed early for a wee jaunt down to hampden. I'll keep the serious drinking for that!
  10. I'm not dissapointed. I said I reckon he will bring something to us but will wait and see. The obertan part of my post was meant with tongue firmly in cheek.
  11. They have to go with what will get the most subscribers though and sadly that means the ugly sisters on most of the time. I am unsure if this would be a success unless they show games nearly every day of the week if they only have spl coverage.
  12. I was getting excited about obertan there.. Can't say I have ever heard of Lowe so shall reserve judgement on him until I have seen him in the flesh. The fact he is on the fringes of a half decent premiership team bodes well though.
  13. I think gibson would be getting interest from bigger clubs than ourselves. I think we are looking a bit farther down the pecking order than him. By that I mean a smaller club and a less well known player.
  14. I wasn't sure if he was or not hence I thought I would ask the question as I was under the same impression as baggy89 regarding loans so my grasp of the regulations was not as good as I first thought.
  15. Early rounds for the prem teams though. May give a few young lads a run out along with fringe players if they are playing lower league teams so as to rest some of their stars. Birmingham may seem a more likely candidate for this as they are playing coventry and also have had a few midweek games recently with their fixture backlog and involvement in the Carling cup. Are they cup tied if they play in the FA cup though? I always thought the onlt thing that mattered bar european competition is if they had played in a domestic cup.
  16. Purely speculation here but it may mean the Huns, who may be doing it anyway, pay fosters wages allowing a loan deal to come in for us. It may also be that he is a right moaning faced prick who upsets the rest of the squad. Even if it is neither of these two I can't say I'll be sad to see him go.
  17. Icts confidence must be at a low just now. I reckon we will win in a cagey 1-0. I also reckon that risking Pawlett is not a good idea if the animal Ross tokely will be on the park. That could see him out for another 12 weeks.
  18. Stop being a fanny on a constant fishing trip then. It's as funny as a close relative being told they have aids and as exciting as cutting your toenails.
  19. Good. I'm working so widnae o been able to see it otherwise.
  20. In A pub Fuck knows Bus then stonehaven 1-1 full time and then fuck knows
  21. Just finished a book about the mafia in America called the first family written by mike dash. It was alright but like all mafia books I've read it gets a bit samey towards the end. worth an illegal download though.
  22. I think this is where the top 10 comes in though it is not about trying to compete with England for players. It is about trying to make our top league solvent. This pretty much ties into the rest of your post. Most clubs are either being forced to make ends meet (killie, the huns) or are doing it off their own back before they are forced to, us included. This pretty much ties into the rest of your post. The big problem with Scottish football is not the size of the league. It is the money it is in debt and the pishness of the entertainment on offer compared to the cost. Forcing clubs down the route of going completely debt free will only bring about a further erosion in standards, at least to begin with, as players will, rightly so, go where the money is. Unless every club has a decent crop of youngsters coming through then this again will lead to a further drop in crowd numbers as more people decide "I'm nae paying £20 ti watch at pish" which again means less money for the youth idea you mooted. The german govern ment also invested heavily in football and youth development in particular. I can't see our bankrupt country doing that at this point in time.
  23. As good as it sounds I doubt that the finance would work out with this idea. The league cup suffers from piss poor turnouts as it is without introducing more games that will have piss poor turnouts. As much as I agree a ten team league will breed boredom I really don't see anyway round it bar keeping the status quo. All the clubs in the SPL seem to be in a poor state financially, maybe with the exception of the tims, and all of them really need the money. The big problem is that expecting perenial relegation candidiates to vote for it is a non starter. Its all well and good saying I would rather see us play x twice and y twice rather than y 4 times a season but the problem is if halfway throught the season you are in midtable with no fear of relegation and no chance of climbing the table to a decent level then the fans won't turn out anyway. Also the introduction of 6 teams from the first division would probably dilute the quality of the league further due to their presence and even less funds being available to other sides which leads to the current accusation of lack of value for money seem even more valid. I also don't think the blooding the youngsters will happen anymore than it is haoppening already due to the finances as well. It may not seem a lot but for a club like ours a couple of places can make a difference on the balance sheet and that is what most chairman now need to look at unless you want to end up in a Dundee style situation. Also blooding the youngsters has the inherent risk of them playing poorly meaning less fans turn up and less money is gained. Basically it boils down to money. This idea wasn't mooted for footballing reasons IMO but financial reasons and all the other suggestions, as nice as they would be to have go ahead, just won't work with that in mind.
  24. I agree with this as well. they have three good players. One of whom has had 98 games in a quest to return to fitness, the other has been injured quite a lot and the other is a goalkeeper. As a squad it is pretty weak and with the emergence of spurs and Man city as good teams it was obvious Liverpool were going to fall away without some serious investment. Which I don't think they will recieve from the new owners either.
