  1. I’d have thought so , jute. Not really sure how else it could work? I’d really like to know where the club is getting its optimism from.
  2. Not sure I agree with the clubs strategy of trying to shift season tickets by claiming they believe that 7.5k crowds will be back at Pittodrie when football resumes. This is contrary to reports and estimations everywhere else.
  3. The training gear is way smarter than the first team kits.
  4. First teamer tests positive for covid: https://www.afc.co.uk/2020/07/01/club-confirm-positive-test-result-for-covid-19/

    Coronavirus

Yesterday was the day that nzers were welcome back in the EU, can’t say there’ll be a rush to have it reciprocated, what with Europe being ravaged by the plague. I find it absolute madness (but typical of big business) to force countries to open. Seems like a lot of head in the sand going on. Really hope our govt continues to hold firm.
  6. I always forget about him
  7. That would be fan-fucking-tastically hilarious if they did get him in
  8. Still plenty of them! Clearly kiwi's favourite team. But fortunately I'm not out in town much at the moment so can easily avoid it all.
  9. Gonna have some temporary down time on the site on Sunday for some prep ahead of the move. There may be access to the site but some posts may disappear (we're not deleting them, they're just getting lost in the ether). Just a heads up
  10. Shite state of affairs. Thank fuck I don't live in the UK anymore. Would have to congratulate the horrible bastards
  11. Rings a bell , baggy. He certainly comes across as a good guy and has great love for the club / city. I never begrudged him his move to the Timothy, we got good money for him. Although we were significantly weaker without him. Despite my initial reservations, Hope he plays a big part in the future.
  12. I see someone on twitter claiming villa and Leeds are interested parties. Probably not far off from the type of club I’d expect.
  13. Interesting, I presume you've heard a few whispers? Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest mind.

    Coronavirus

We lost our covid free streak this week after two UK based kiwis were granted compassionate exemption from quarantine after a local Tory no had been pushing it. They’ve subsequently lied about their journey from Auckland to Wellington and caught up with a friend on the way and god knows what else. Regardless, there was clearly a failure at the quarantine centre and procedures, potentially a huge own goal for the govt that might let the Tories in. Election in sept. Cannot afford this govt to fuck up. Just hope it doesn’t turn out to become a second wave
  15. I feel like you’re making a point, but can’t quite make it out Overall I haven’t been impressed with the sports fare on show so far. The rugby here , however was very good. Was nice seeing competitive sport.
  16. Where are you seeing this?
  17. I see it like that too, although if I was working at the club and this was announced? Not sure how I’d feel. Like to think I’d see it that a position was vacant. Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if most clubs had asked folk to take wage cuts. A shit situation for all and one that no one wants to be in.
  18. doubt we'll get anyone else in tbh. Whilst I am a bit meh about it, he has a bit of soul which I think this team has lacked. So maybe it's a positive thing.
  19. Consisting definitely deserved it, has been the most consistent performer by a long shot. He hasn’t necessarily got the best skills in the team but hes worn his heart on his sleeve and led by example. I agree re vyner , that was my pick for the goal of the season.
  20. Crowds have returned here. Saturdays Super Rugby Aotearoa was the first pro sport game in the world to have a crowd. Pro football is linked to the a-league so won't return until August, but that'll be in Oz anyway. Was quite impressed with the crowd noise for the AFL, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I see Kaiserslauten have announced that they are proceeding with a planned insolvency. Wonder how many will follow suit.
  21. So that’s Leigh and (thank fuck) Gallagher returned to their parent clubs. Surprised we didn’t keep Leigh, but guess that can only mean one thing. Hayes. Released frank and seb ross, and obviously Rogers. Number of other youth a development squad released. Club still holding talks with Cerny. Would like to keep him as more than solid back up for lewis
  22. Is this actually going to happen? I really hope not, I know it happens in NL, Germany and Spain but it still doesn’t sit right. Hope the lower league stick to their senses
  23. Parted company with the club today. Not surprising in the slightest, was never going to work out for him. Wish him the best but I wasn’t convinced he was better than what was ahead of him. 9 years at the club, certainly feels like it!
  24. Stunning pics, Elgin! Been meaning to upload a few of my own , hopefully find time soon
  25. I always like to see someone wearing the new top before committing. Primarily because not being in ABZ myself, means I can't exactly pop into the club shop. This seems to confirm what I thought!
