  1. Who's greetin about him going? I thought most folk, unless ferverent JMGers felt indifferent about the situation? I know I certainly felt that it was probably time for him to go, providing they make a suitable appointment as his replacement.
  2. Blimey, thats quite impressive! Two countries after him. This bit amused me though
  3. Good article though he shoots himself in the foot with that penalties comment!
  4. Amen brother. As I've stated in other posts, as long as we see the real seve I'd keep him at the club. Obviously there are no guarantees of that but hopefully the new management team will provide him with inspiration to strive forward.
  5. That really would be an interesting turn of events? Any names/consortium's being touted?
  6. Indeed, I would say that sums up Seve's recent performances, but fuck if I care, it helped us get back into Europe! Anyway, As you mentioned earlier in the thread, I would like to see Pawlett and Paton establish themselves. I was chatting to TC about this yesterday, and we were both genuinely excited at their future prospects in our line up. I'd like to see them push on and eventually establish themselves as regulars. I'm glad JC blooded them, because the few youngsters he has nurtured have been pretty good, so fingers crossed their progress will continue. I would like a new CB alongside Zander and if Vidal manages to stay, I would be happy with him playing there as he has proved me wrong after a very shakey start. I don't think we'll be getting in another striker as I don't think we'll be able to afford it and I'm happy with a Miller/Maguire partnership but a RM is a priority!
  7. As I said in the Seve thread, if we get the real Seve which showed up for the past couple of months, then fantastic, but if the we see the lazy sod that we had for most of the past couple of season he can take a running jump. Who knows, maybe this new manager might be a better people person than JC and actually motivate him to get back to his best again? Clearly he can still play, because he has been outstanding recently.
  8. Well said. I don't think we should be going for anyone in the SPL because I don't think it will be a step forward. McGhee was a winner as a player so he does have the winning mentality, but I just don't think he's consistent enough. Whoever comes into our club, I will give them my full support.
  9. Thats what I thought!
  10. Can't disagree with any of that. Thanks and good luck!
  11. Was he not terrible at both Coventry and Leeds?
  12. Went for McLeish, I don't know enough about Black to be confident about him. Obviously I would have loved Darren Ferguson however that ship has long since sailed
  13. They had nothing to play for though. I didn't expect much from hivs, I expected more from the home support though! I thought we'd break the 15k mark. Oh well. Happy days nonetheless!
  14. That in itself was my major thorn if only thorn in JC's tenure. We can and are clearly capable of playing football properly and taking the game to teams, we just didn't do it anywhere enough. Had we done it, I don't think/though can't say for certain obviously, we would have lost those cup games. But thats all a matter of opinion and in the past now. The next week shall be very interesting.
  15. I'm a bit mixed about this. I think as bobo said, I think he's done a fantastic job and stabilised the club we love after many years of uncertainty and underachievement. He's left the club with solid foundations and I think its better now than during the season. It now gives the club time to make (and I hope they've already sounded out) a suitable replacement. We needed to freshen something up because I think even JC felt he'd taken the club as far as he could. I just hope the board along with Willie Miller make the right choice. WM made the right choice with JC and I hope that they do the same again. Thank you very much Mr Calderwood and Mr Nichol, you have provided me with some of the greatest memories whilst being an Aberdeen fan and done a lot for the club. For that I thank them both and wish them both the best!
  16. nervy pairing but we have little choice! COME ON YOU REDS!
  17. Not going to the game today?
  18. Hope there's a good crowd today and obviously that everything goes our way today! COME ON YOU REDS! :ultras:
  19. I wonder if he faced stiff opposition for his Nobel Prize!
  20. I hope you need the toilet
  21. haha, are the spanish tv crews like the British where they don't show it when someone runs onto the pitch? I see Barca are one down, but I suppose it doesn't really matter to them though.
  22. Not a lot to disagree with in his post, however, this is AFC we're talking about and they very rarely do the sensible option. I know we can't really afford to get rid of him so obviously as baggy says, I hope someone is taking him off our hands. I just can't see it though. I await monday with anticipation to see if anything actually comes of this. Certainly plenty of rumours flying around but I guess we just have to play the waiting game. As I've said earlier, since the dunfermline debacle, I've thought it was time to go this summer, especially since we've been shite in the league since then (which I would have forgiven him for had we actually attempted to get third).
