  1. Precisely. Eight of the starting eleven today were part of the squad which qualified for Europe last season. So in terms of ability the squad should be fine. If we're looking for a common denominator, maybe we should be looking at why this group of players are not performing for our new manager, and why the Kilmarnock players are playing for their new manager. The answer, in my opinion, is Jimmy Calderwood.
  2. Kow I was typing the exact same thing about Kerr and Macdonald, Duff and Young. Not because they are better players, just to give everyone a kick up the arse. Changing the keeper was a big gamble because it put Nelson under huge pressure in a very tense game for the club, maybe that's why McGhee lied about Langfield being ill to make it seem like a forced change? Didn't fucking work anyway. Is Nelson Jimmy's dross or was he a McGhee signing?
  3. I hope that's your final words on the matter. That's my final words on the matter.
  4. Bad result this weekend and I would suggest we're very much in a relegation dog fight. This is not a joyous time for any dons fan ajja. In my opinion too many supporters let their personal feelings about JC cloud their views about what was best for Aberdeen. He was not a likeable character. He spoke nonsense to the media. His Glasgow upbringing. The sunbed caricature. The attacking football myth. The horrendous cup results. If McGhee feels no warmth from Aberdeen fans he should talk to the Jimmy's about how they felt up here. But I felt we were in safe hands under Jimmy's guidance. We could argue all day about the rights and wrongs of changing the management team, but that doesn't mean anyone's happy about where we find ourselves now. McGhee must stay, we have to try and get behind him, we must hope the Board back him in the Summer with some proper finance to sort the squad out, and as the support dwindles to Dundee United proportions we have to hope and believe the good times are just around the corner. Managers and players will come and go, but we'll still be here. We need a spark again, maybe by the start of next season hopes will be raised, but August looks a long way off just now. For most of us the Raith game has been a cup humiliation too far, but as usual we'll get over it. What else can we do?
  5. These are fairly serious allegations against (at least) one of our supporters from our own manager. He doesn't want a police investigation? Well there must at least be an enquiry, and as supporters who've collectively had our name dragged through the mud today on news chanels and in news papers, we deserve to find out the truth. Was he spat at? And if he was why is there no tv footage or picture evidence to prove it? or Was he not spat at? And did he make the whole thing up in the heat of the moment? Either a disgusting act which should be punished by the club, or a disgusting lie from a man who should have known today would be hard enough for dons fans without all this shite. I want to know the truth.
  6. Great post.
  7. Are you suggesting that this man, once the victim of Paul Hegarty's 'leg break' threats, could be talking shite? I don't believe he was 'spat on'. I can imagine irate fans confronting him and it being very unpleasant for the guy, but I cant believe anyone would actually aim a grolly at him.
  8. Although i very much doubt that money would have gone anywhere near the manager.
  9. We'd have been much better off financially ajja.
  10. You're preaching to the converted here kelt. That post would sit less comfortably if placed in a thread over on the hat.
  11. Cheers. This started at 3 o clock this morning. Just hope I'm not spewing at half nine tonight.

Fatjim, don't listen to the sneaky fucker. He's trying some clever reverse psychology trick - pretending not to care. For the good of the game, for the good name of celeb death sportsmanship, no points for Kow and may I also propose a lifetime ban from the sport for being a devious CD cheat. Keep up the good work fatjim.
  15. One fan opinion? If they play like that from now until the end of the season, both will be in McGhee's plans for next season. Am I wrong? I'm not going to list specifics, they worked hard, led by example in terms of effort and commitment, and showed a tremendous appetite for the fight.
  16. Well I did, matching an expensively assembled Celtic midfield blow for blow, never letting their heads go down even when the game looked like slipping away. If they perform together like that on a regular basis both will have big futures at Aberdeen. Whether you like it or not.
  17. That's a fucking awful post rocket.
  18. I thought Diamond was magnificent but I haven't seen any replays yet, agree that Aluko was probably our worst performer. Good shift from Kerr and Macdonald, why do we have to be really up against it before these boys look interested? As I said after the hibs game Paton looks like a quality young player. Mackie and Mclean were fantastic. Pass marks all round, Aluko only just. Was great to shut the gloating Tim fuckwits up, brilliant end to the match.

    Great thread.
  22. I've known Steve a few years and he is a top bloke, he bought me my first beer after we touched down in Munich. Hope this works out for him and the good of the club. Enough already. You're going to be in big trouble with ally.
  23. I thought Langfield had one tremendous stop last night.
  24. Duff's miss is mesmerizing, I could watch it over and over again. Fuck knows what he was trying to do. Paton looks like a fucking good prospect, comfortable on the ball, confident when taking defenders on, gets into good positions, not scared to have a go. And he looks like he gives a fuck. Keep it up Son.
