Not going to try and defend our fans but the actions of the stewards and police at the far end of the ground and then the United keeper when they scored were disgraceful. Calderwood made so many bad decisions last night that it simply cant be put down to bad luck. See we now have 3 young players out on loan; Paton at Brechin and S. Smith and McVitie at Peterheid. Loaning out players to lower division teams should be a great way to bring our young lads on, ala Willie Miller and Peterheid back in the day. Why is it though that when we loan younsters out, it usually means they are getting released in the next 6 months? Seems to be a policy of only shipping them out if they arent going to make the grade. Who was the last youth to get loaned out and actually come back and make an impact on the team?

I know the running joke is that Calderwood scrapped the scouting network at Pittodrie to take it all on between the 2 Jimmys and Sandy Clark. Is this actually true? Reason I ask is that over the last few seasons there have been a number of lower league players in Scotland snapped up by other teams but never by AFC. Rankin and Cowie- ICT Grainger/Buaben/Gomis/Swanson/Conway- United Frazer Wright/Willie Gibson/ Koudou- Killie Templeman- Hearts A lot of these players could have been brought in cheaply and could have either improved the side or been good squad players. Surely the club could inverst some of the cash they have been making back into a few scouts??

EE says that Mo Jonston at Toronto has offered him a 2 year deal but he hasnt accepted it yet, and could still decide to join the Dons full time

This question is being discussed in another thread but I thought it deserved a poll all of its own. My preferred option is to have Seve at centre back as part of a back 4. Means we dont have to play Dick Byrne or Night Mair back there and also means the midfield is more dynamic as Seve tends to slow the play down far too much in there. I'd go with this option until the end of the season when a proper CB could be taken in. In the meantime I think Seve and Diamond could form a decent partnership which would finally see a bit of solidity to the defence.

There is absolutely no way AFC will move out to Porthlethen, crowd numbers would plummet and those in charge know it. As folk have mentioned this site is only being mentioned to force Aberdeen City Councils hand, a lot like Trump did with this alternative site for his golf course in Ireland that suddenly became an option when it looked like the Balmedie bid might get thrown out.
