Instead Calderwood gave them a pardon allowing Cousin to move from his seat in the stand to one on the bench. Are these the actions of a decent bloke acting in the spirit of fair play? Or a dyed in the wool Rainjirs man who wouldnt dare defy his dads favourite team. IMO we should be trying to gain any advantage we can over any team and telling them tough shit, you'll start with 6 on the bench. Calderwoods blatant pandering to the Huns really does my tits in!!

Headed along to Pittodrie yesterday to watch this game, and a cracking game it was as well. Young lads won 4-3 after extra time after being 3-1 down at one point, made it 3-3 in the last minute to take it into extra time. Weirdly both Walker and Aluko started the match, and Maguire came off the bench to score 2 including the winner. Got to say after watching this you can see why Maguire is getting a chance with the 1st team, he is a standout at his age group! As for the rest of our team, there were a lot of young lads playing due to some of our players being out on loan. Liked the look of the boy Peter Pawlett playing centre mid, pretty sure he is only about 16 but had good drive from midfield and managed to score as well. Thought the boy Ross up front showed some nice touches ina. Well done to the loons on making the Semi though.

Crucial difference is that it is painfully clear Seve has lost a vital yard of pace this season. Once that goes, its downhill from there I'm afraid, especially for a midfielder.

A clearout of the players who are clearly not top 4 SPL players needs to be carried out in the summer, all the January signings bar Maybury should be punted, Duff is possibly one of the worst signings AFC has made. Keep the core of good players we have and punt the rest. Even U19s like Paton would add a bit of hunger and drive to the side next season. Saying this I have little or no faith in JCs ability to sign an unknown gem. All of his signings have either been decent "names" who we all already know of, or total unknowns who have gone on to be total shite!! P.S I thought Pasquinelli was decent

Alluded to in other posts, but I feel he was badly at fault for the 1st 2 Bayern goals last night, you cant hope to stop a piledriver with one flailing hand. Problem with Lovell is that his family is rich enough that he doesnt even have to play fitba. He plays for enjoyment and not for the wage. It is going to take a special kind of motivator to get the best out of his undoubted talent. Unfortunatlely, Calderwoods idea of motivation is to endlessly berate a player in the vain hope of getting a positive repsones. Oor Stevie isnt going to react well to this. If JC is staying, the Lovell was always going to leave I'm afraid.

Aye but a team which is doing as well as us, in terms of progress in Europe and the Cups should be drawing in the crowds, but the simple fact is we aint. Nobody can give a concrete answer as to why this is, but IMO it is because most games are a total dirge with the result being ground out, and this season we are even losing the ability to do that. Getting to the semi final of the CIS cup isnt going to pull in the floating punter, attacking entertaining fitba is. Nobody who goes to Pittodrie just now is getting value for money. So I'm not denying progress has been made, but its been done with terrible fitba, and now we are seriously regressing in terms of results and playing staff.
