  1. Hmmm, interesting the views about Maguire, lets nae forget though that he is only 20 (same age as Paton) therefore still an immature, cocky little ned.....which is probably pretty much to be expected. The boys obviously talented and this has been seen in flashes, if he can find some consistency and matures a little I reckon he could be a great player for us. He's far too young to be written off.
  2. It was hardly a sitter and Mackie did more or less make the chance himself, but since its Mackie we just focus on the bad stuff he did.
  3. A decent replacement for Mulgrew in re: to defending
  4. Feck sake, AFC in semi decent player not renewing contract shocker Positives - can get a proper defender in instead Negatives - we'll never score again
  5. Yip, it does concern me how we're ever going to pay this debt off, we might occassionally get lucky with a UEFA run (although highly unlikely it'll be next season) and might make the odd few bob in transfers however if debts continue to rise then this will be a constant millstone roond our neck, I'm hoping all the financial brains at AFC have some sort of plan in hand.... Re: the loan, maybe it will work in our favour if we have to re-negotiate in 18 months time due to the low interest rates in these troubled times?, we'll defo need Milnes millions as security though.
  6. Suppose because we always finish above yinited that we get a bigger cut of the pie?
  7. He might nae be the player he was but probably still better than what we have at the moment If its going to happen I hope he gets a mega-stringent medical, we really cannae afford another Tommy Wright / Smith / Booth scenario....
  8. In different circumstances I think we need players like Kerr in the team, just not as captain and playing alongside a player like McDonald. I'd think a Nicholson type player playing alongside him would be more fruitful.
  9. Feck, what started oot as a season of optimism has quickly crashed back down to earth, our pish threadbare squad is now even mair threadbare....and pisher
  10. Ah, good to have the old dread back for an in-firm game I'd suggest a 9-0-1 formation, with Miller upfront on his own causing havoc with the hun defence due to his speed and trickery. Is Fyvie available for this game or is he with the U12 international squad?
  11. Just a pity he never made the major changes a few months back when the transfer window was still open
  12. Ah min, never thought my last thread was worth a -1.....booooo Onyway, at the time JC was holding out on signing a new contract, therefore maybe it was because he was holding out for a 3 year deal and the board eventually conceded. Is that worth a +1 now? and maybe a thumbs up smiley?
  13. Ah, the old 3 year contract argument, in hindsight a year too long however since we were still in the UEFA cup that season, 4th in the league, in the semi of the league cup and obviously still in the scottish cup it is perhaps understandable?
  14. Fits maist depressing is that we dinnae even look like we're improving, I could just about stomach a defeat if new players or tactics are a work in progress however its the same old 50 yard punts to no-one in particular, again and again and again and again.... Another probably defeat on Saturday looms....things can only get better.....surely?
  15. Bad, bad Jimmy, its all his fault y'ken - and always will be
  16. Hmmm, picking one example out of over 30 to prove a point isnae really that scientific is it? I'm pretty fecking sure that some of the huns teams for example would be older than oor starting XI
  17. Wasnae comparing us as potentially being stronger to the Hibees on a playing sense, merely meant in a stronger position financially, ye ken?
  18. Going by our recent dealings in the transfer market we're probably at about 20% now
  19. Its kinda ironic comparing us to hibs, who (until they signed Stokes) was always reliant on their youth players, which is exactly what we're being forced to do now....maybe in 3 years time or this will actually make us stronger?
  20. Noticed this on an Ipswich Town forum, Scott Robertson from DU maybe on his way and Kerr going back the opposite direction http://www.twtd.co.uk/mb.php?m=v&t=6055
  21. First half was pish, we almost made Murderwell look half decent 2nd half was better though but we still lacked creativity
  22. Was speaking to my Joiner mate who was hammering feck out the place a few months back - he mentioned that JC was supposed to check it out before deciding whether to give it the (or nae) I would assume that that role had been passed onto McGhee.
  23. Yip, we still have no money and england pay more money than us, as was true yesterday, last week, last month and the 5 years afore
