I reckon if Mclean stays he'd score a load from the problems kyle would cause defences (mclean is a poacher but currently the ball's never in the box ), I like kyle and think an experienced front 2 would do us the world of good. we could cause serious problems to teams with our youngsters flooding into the box behind that pairing. p.s Kerr wouldn't be my holding choice but could do worse

Aberdeen fans urged to back team in relegation battle
redordead replied to Sandaldinho's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
spot on Maverick, summed up the general feeling beautifully, until they make an effort they can poke it. -
" given the dressing room " 4 little words right in the middle which say it all. He knows they don't give a fuck, he can't make them do so and is resigned to them dragging him along until the campaign ends. Grow some balls man!

12 for me too and in agreement with most above, with exception of langfield. has his moments but a serious bottler when it matters. Lack of faith in him must hurt the defence. youngsters, diamond and foster were the only easy decisions to make

I know I said give him til christmas but suddenly I feel a retraction coming upon me. Just make them play like some sort of professional team Mark. Money is a matter for summer, piss poor, disjointed efforts are straight from the training ground and that lies with the gaffer (and leitch). Get it together boys!!

Foster for me, only for his honest endeavour if nowt else.

wow!!! it's like telepathy. You just seem to know what I thought before I thought it..

Not even nearly good enough McGhee
redordead replied to TENEMENTFUNSTER's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
can anyone remember the last time we had presence at all. I think it's way back with shearer, or possibly bisco. this has been aberdeen's fundamental problem for as long as I can remember. -
surely we could plunder the new EU countries like Poland/Slovakia etc. these boys can't be on a fortune! You only need to look at our pumping from sigma to see that a few must be worth a look. Saving us paying CC League 1&2 dross fortunes.

reckon he'll shift 5 or 6, promote 4 from the youth set up and bring in a couple of his own iffy signings. I'd love to say we could sign a dozen, but from previous windows I'll stick with the above. Painful as it is I fear I won't be far wrong.

P&J: Talk to begin with Aluko to extend deal
redordead replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
was not at hamilton and have never abused any of our players ( somewhat counter productive ) Agreed consistency may come (2 yrs and counting ) but he's not likely to grow a foot or put on 3 stone and this is where the issue lies for me. At his size you need to be a terrier in our league, Sone has all the skill in the world but is more poodle. Never wins a header, rarely wins a tackle (or puts in ) and 3 times out of 5 loses balls needlessly. Capable of brilliance but more often a complete passenger. That's why I'm not too bothered if he leaves, anyway who'd he go to? DUNDEE?? -
i remember us qualifying through good fortune rather than guile and skill. My memory's not all it used to be but I'm fairly sure I failed to notice the immense display that day. Europe I have to give you, but we always raise our game when we are the underdog.remember under mmg we've beat the huns and drew 4-4 with the other ugly sister.

P&J: Talk to begin with Aluko to extend deal
redordead replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
lightweight and half hearted, Paton's twice as productive when played wide. Lets not be held to ransom by a boy who's only really performed in the bayern game. -
been stuck on the islands this week, but please tell me someone else seen the killie fan's post on the hotline ( daily record) I'm sure it was Tuesday if not monday. Basically read, fed up with JC, plays our players out of position, benches our best defenders to play others there and if he's there next season I won't be! Wish I'd remembered it on tuesday before I left. Straight run of defeats for killie now. This could have been written by any dons fan a year ago. Funny how absence makes the heart grow fonder. Yes we are pish just now, but try to remember that we were also pish then. lets give the boss a chance and then moan at christmas if he doesn't take it.

Mark McGhee admits interest in Jimmy's Dross

Jesus wept, 4 games since he left and we'd consider a return -
I liked the bit where if they were all on new 3yr deals they'd be ripping into everything. OR as is more likely they'd do bugger all as their cushy numbers were even easier. If they don't try when due for renewal, why would they try when their pay is guaranteed for 3 yrs? Wasn't sure if he was having a dig at the club for not resigning the shite we currently tolerate. Hopefully just giving those that think they'll get better offers a kick on the ass. Also I'd love to know who these diddy's think will be queuing up to offer them deals.

I reckon he'll step into the job just after Aluko lights up the world cup for nigeria and man city beg us to give them Marshall back

If 47 is the answer, what is the question?

is it the number of shots Dazza mack requires to hit the net -
after tonights comments I think a clearout is on the cards, if anyone will take them. Willie seems to harbour high hopes for the academy kids and seems willing to suffer for a year or two of misery to let them establish themselves. Wouldn't mind if it wasn't quite so painful though. MMG still full of confidence that his record stands up and those who appointed him don't believe him to be the problem.

A movement against Milne and the Board?
redordead replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
TSR, you obviously missed Ifill's virtuoso performance against raith. NO ONE on the bleedin planet could possibly be worse. MMG has to take full credit for this guy sadly -

I'm with you Bobby, totally behind JC going, but also thought MM was a hasty decision and we should have spoken to all interested parties. That said he's here now and despite some disasters, the things he is saying are pretty much what the support are thinking.( or me anyway ) It's hard to hound a guy who is pointing out the problems that we've seen for the past 5-10 yrs and no one has challenged so far. -
For me Jamie's the king of the bottlers. remember tynecastle semi with UTD, someone throws a pie and he cocks up the rest of the game? Incredible shot stopping at times, but when you need him to do the bread and butter under pressure he more often than not does the unexpected and costs us dearly.

read this yesterday and thought it was pretty much bang on. should be a huge newcastle like club. unfortunately he forgets that a lot of the "good people" of the city are there for the oil and have their own teams from their home towns before they moved north. It'll take more than signing Jim Paterson to convert these people into regular attendees at Pittodrie
