  1. 7/1 first or last goalscorer with Willie Hill. 20 quid on Mackie to get a last minute consolation in a 1-3 drubbing?
  2. He's the one that sai'd be asking for written confirmation from the league that no more penalties would be forthcoming. The vote on penalties was delayed earlier this week, then he gets preferred bidder status? Monday's meeting to discuss financial fair play is gonna be very interesting now...
  3. Next year's strip should be Brown, to signify the steaming shit that our club has become. Having bought a top to wear for the semi in the "turn hampden red & white" campaign, I've already spent the last cash I'll ever waste on Milne's housesitters and the SPL.
  4. Thought he was one of the worst players in the park last week. Distribution was awful. Is he actually a full back tho? We've had so many folk shoe horned into that role in the past 2 years I can't keep up anymore.
  5. Bringing on a bag of spuds for Clark would have made sense as a substitution.
  6. It's a good question. Try punt him out on loan in January, still to offer him a new contract, but he is still getting first team opportunites now. Surely that proves the problem with our squad? (The point I've been trying to make now over 3 posts)
  7. Other than his schoolboy powered 'shot' at the keeper, I'm not sure which threat you refer too, other than the occasional threat that he'd pick out someone in red. And dont give me the scapegoat bullshit either. My point, which was willfully ignored to serve some kind of pro Mackie agenda, was that with 30 mins left of our season and any hope of Europe/glory, we could only bring on a player deemed not good enough for a regular starting place or indeed a contract. If it was Paton i'd have said the same thing, its not the individual here that matters, its the principle. My point, if you are actually interested, is how shambolic a situation it is to have to pin your hopes on someone the coaching staff have already dismissed as a dons player. If Mackie was the answer, what the fuck did we waste time and money on chalali and uchechi for?
  8. Dunno about Craig Brown, but Jason Brown's twitter timeline sounds like he might not be here next season.
  9. Today was potentially the last game I'll ever bother with regarding the Dons due to the newco situation next season. There was such a build up this week, such a feeling of expectation, the fans in great voice as the game begins. Then some Fucking schoolboy defending within 2 mins puts us 1 down and kills the atmosphere. It reminded me of hampden when Italy beat us for a euro's place. This should be the pinnacle for these Fucking imposters, playing for a chance in the final against relegation fodder and they never turned up. Collum was shit, but we didn't play enough to deserve excuses about refs. When we needed to go for it, we brought on Darren Mackie. He was an ex-Spl player about 2 seasons ago,and we're not even keeping him,but that's who we turn to in our season defining game. That pretty much says it all.
  10. ignore this. just found the clockwork website. family friendly lounge bar apparently.
  11. Anyone know of a decent boozer that will be open on Saturday near Hampden, that's kid friendly? I've been to Church on The Hill before a scotland game with the wee yin, but wondered if anyone knows of anywhere else? Is Clockwork Child Friendly? that's a lot closer.
  12. Supporters are also urged to retain their tickets from the SPL match against Inverness Caley Thistle on the 24th March, the game with Dundee United on Saturday 7th April and post-split home games as, in the event of Aberdeen reaching the final, a voucher system will operate. Do they really think they'll need a voucher system if we made the final? Or is this just a way of trying to boost gates for what will be fairly meaningless games? Suppose if we were in the final against Celtic, we'd probably only get given about 20% of the stadium, to leave room for all those sailing over from Ireland to see their local team.
  13. SFA statement is probably them reacting to HMRC news that they would need a regime change to support a CVA. they can force the change themselves using the fit and proper rule, and Rangers can be saved. Hoorah for the SFA...
  14. Surely it'd be pretty obvious that HMRC want Rangers to continue. if they go down the pan, then HMRC would get nowt would they not?
  15. At the very least, there'll be no european football for them... Duff & Phelps statement: "As regards the club playing in European competitions next season, there is no realistic prospect of the Club being able to fulfil its obligations prior to the March 31 deadline set by UEFA. "There are four main reasons for this and they lie in the stewardship of the club prior to going into administration. First, as we have stated from the outset, the likelihood of the club being able to emerge successfully from administration before this deadline as indicated by the chairman was, at best optimistic given the perilous financial situation at the club at the time of insolvency... Administrators' statement continued: "Second, the company accounts cannot realistically be signed off by auditors in a manner that would meet the criteria required by the footballing authorities. Even if the audited financial statements are issued prior to the end of March 2012 we would expect them to be qualified by the auditors such that under UEFA requirements the club will have to satisfy a going concern test confirming how it will continue to be funded until the end of next season. Without knowing who will be the owner of the Club at 31 March, it is impossible to provide suitable comfort in this respect. "Thirdly under UEFA regulations the club must have paid or come to a satisfactory settlement with all social taxes that were outstanding at 31 December 2011. We estimate those social taxes (being PAYE and NIC) to be at least £5m. We cannot now see a scenario where those taxes will have been paid or compromised to the satisfaction of HMRC by the end of March 2012. "The final major hurdle is that the club must have paid or compromised all of its outstanding "Football Creditors" prior to the deadline of 31 March 2012. That issue is again extremely unlikely." Duff & Phelps add: "There has, perhaps inevitably, been speculation about Rangers Football Club facing liquidation. As we have stated previously, we remain very confident that Rangers will not cease to exist and the team will continue to play at Ibrox. "If a Company Voluntary Arrangement is not possible for any particular reason, any buyer of the Club and its assets would complete that purchase through a sale by the Administrators allowing the Football Club to continue to operate with the old company then being placed into liquidation prior to dissolution... "We are, however, doing our best to ensure the Company trades viably during administration and this will require a rigorous cost-cutting programme. Our preferred option remains to reach a point where a Company Voluntary Arrangement is reached and the Club can emerge from administration as a viable business within its existing corporate shell. "As stated there is a possibility that if a new buyer is identified a financial case may be made to sell the business and assets of the old company, but that is not our preferred approach at this time. "We are aware of the statement from Mr King. We note his comments regarding the Ticketus arrangements but as this issue is subject to ongoing discussion and examination, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further..."
  16. Cuts delayed now till Friday. seems they are putting all their eggs into this Paul Murray consortium's basket and hoping he can save the club. Duff and Phelps statement 1. "We are announcing today we are accelerating the sale of Rangers Football Club. The club is in a perilous financial situation and that should not be under-estimated. Regrettably, we have been unable to agree cost-cutting measures with the playing staff on terms that will preserve value in the business. We understand the players' position as the scale of wage cuts required to achieve these savings without job losses were very substantial indeed... 2. "In view of this, we are faced with a situation of making redundancies within the playing staff on such a scale that would materially erode the value of the playing squad. We are striving to strike a balance where cost-cutting measures can be implemented but do not destroy the fabric of the playing squad to the extent that it will inhibit the prospect of a sale... 3. "However, no one should be in any doubt that in the absence of sufficient cost-cutting measures or receipt of substantial unplanned income, the club will not be able to fulfil its fixtures throughout the remainder of the season... 4. "As a result, we are expediting the sale process and over the next few days we will be holding discussions with prospective purchasers who have declared their interest. The Manager, Ally McCoist will play an integral part in these discussions. If, however, it becomes apparent that the sale process cannot be accelerated there will be no choice but to implement very severe cost cutting measures at the club."
  17. Dunno if it's been posted on here already, but someone made me aware that due to the huns cheating their way through the past 20 or so years, we actually won in the treble in the 1992/93 season. quite an achievement for us!
  18. I felt embarassed that it was being beamed to pubs/homes across the nation to be honest. altho I'll bet it was a fairly small sky audience. the most simplest of basic skills were beyond most if not all of our players. Rae didn't really add much at all, but will get the benefit of the doubt as he's back from injury and it's his first SPL game for quite some time. Why Chalali wasn't on earlier I've no idea. If Mackie is playing out the last few games of his career but can get game time before Chalali then presumably the algerian won't be here next season either? Fyvie was utterly abysmal. his game was summed up when his attempt at skill led him to kick the ball straight out for a throw in, then try and dive to get a free kick instead. Does anyone know where to get pass completion stats for this match? I dread to think how low the %'s would be. Uchechi looks lightweight, but at least he was trying to be positive when he did manage to get it under control. I want to have ago at Brown for his negative tactics, but it's hard to pin it solely on the manager when you watch players repeatedly miss a 4 yard pass.
  19. presumably the Motherwell cup game will be on in here as well? I'll be up in Scotland that weekend, but I won't be in Glasgow on the Sunday till prob after kick off so will need to catch it on TV somewhere
  20. realistically, what is he going to learn by staying at Aberdeen? we play in a joke of a league and even then we can't compete. if that's what is called a football education, then it's no wonder our national team is hopeless now too. the days of getting massive fees for youth players are gone for our club and anyone else in Scotland. I don't blame Fyvie or any other youngster for going down south where a the football is a better standard. b there's far more money (football is their living afterall) Also, using the example of Anderson is pointless. injuries ruined his english dream.
  21. Certainly can't blame Arnason either. he got screwed for cash at Plymouth and isn't exactly in the development years of his career so it's a fairly logical one for him to maximise his paydays now.
  22. that was a mistake. they thought he said he was going down under. he actually said he's joining a team going down. That would apply to us if we're getting rid of the only player who's been actually winning us points recently. not to worry though. Russell Anderson will be fit for the 1st division season.
  23. sorry, that was my fault with the way I wrote that. I think the signing of Anderson in general, not the captain's armband/club captain is a sign that Arnason will be going. glasgow don. "club captain" is what, some kind of ambassadorial (made up word alert) role? that's not as bad as making him team captain then, but is twice as cringeworthy!!
  24. ...and is immediately made club captain? unless someone can convince me otherwise, I think that's a mistake. Oh, btw, goodbye Arnason.
  25. PAYP deal does indeed sound sensible. but Brown is saying someone has to go, for this to happen. So when Anderson is out for 4 weeks with hamstring knack we'll have 1 less player available than we had before.
