  1. Can't seem to get the image upload to work, but a mate of mine, one of the 1% of Rangers fans who is not deluded, sent me a screenshot of a Rangers forum, talking about the London EGM. In this thread, one of the nuggets, without any hint of sarcasm, asks "Maybe we could ask Sky if they will cover the costs of a bigger venue, say The O2, then screen proceedings live to those of us who can't attend"
  2. one thing clear is that The tax avoider 's press conference yesterday was probably a succulent lamb Mark II. Less than 24 hours later the anti Ashley PR is ramped up. A 'manager' who doesn't want the job, and is already voluntarily working his notice having had the job for less than a month, is complaining about being 'undermined'. if it wasn't part of a bigger circus, this in itself would be a hilarious story. I wonder what the consensus will be amongst the fans if these loan players lift the team dramatically on Saturday? shouldn't be hard to be honest.
  3. Another Hampden horror show to add to the growing collection. I said back after the Dundee Scottish cup exit that we can't keep playing like a shit Arsenal, having loads of dominant possession which ultimately leads to fuck all. That's what happened again today. For all of our pressing today, the most dangerous player offensively was a fucking centre back who last week probably couldn't even point to Aberdeen on a map. And no substitutions? Goodwilliie looked like he could still be out on Hampden now trying to score, yet we make a change with 5 mins left when we're already behind. Too little too late. Ah well. The excitement of the top 6 race now...
  4. Interesting tweet by celebrity wife beater and dogging fan Stan Collymore about Rangers, their fans and their History. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skb47p I expect a boycott Collymore march is already planned for this weekend.
  5. I put a £5 on us at 25/1 in July and cash out is currently £10 so presumably your mate will have a decent cash out amount with his bet?
  6. I'm not sure there's much point going to games now. If R_S's example from a St Mirren game is true, then it seems the guys on the pitch don't listen to us when we shout at/to them anyway.
  7. At least I know now what happened to Jim Traynor.
  8. Wow! The sheer cheek of the little Tim. I honestly can't beleive this. Cash in I say, his numbers up... Seems most folk on social media, are incapable of seeing grey anymore. It's either Black: he purposely did this on Monday as a personal fuck you to aberdeen and the memory of dick Donald, and should be tarred and feathered on Union st before the weekend White: he can do what he wants, nothing to see here, if you think he was wrong in doing this you are a precious nugget who needs to re-evaluate your life Truth is it's somewhere North of white but South of black. Should he have gone to the game? Don't see why not. Should he have sat in with the normal fans, probably an error of judgement here. Given that he signed a 2 years extension a matter of weeks ago, it seems unlikely that he was trying to make any point by doing this. A quiet word to him about his public persona as an aberdeen player should suffice. As for not celebrating goals, that's such a non issue I'm not even addressing it. The picture online that kicked all this off, seems to be his fellow Irish, Celtic supporting agent, taking his kids (maybe even nephews) to the Celtic game. McGinn is there with his agent + kids and an ex teammate. If anyone follows McGinn on Twitter they'll see he seems to be quite close to his agent. Is it possible he thought he was just doing a nice thing for a mate's kids? maybe this trip was planned weeks or months ago. Before we suddenly became "title contenders". If it had been one of the games in September, the impact would be far less but suddenly it matters because he was supporting our main rivals. None of this makes it all ok.he could still have cancelled his plans etc, but the point I'm making is due to circumstance, a potentially harmless event is now the biggest talking point of our 1st week as league leaders in ages. Ridiculous. I realise that most folk don't go on forums such as this to gain perspective and see if they can understand the opposite standpoint of their own opinion, but fucks sake people, how about we all meet in the middle and say McGinn was stupid (a footballer not thinking you say? Surely not!) and made an error of judgement, but it's done and in the past. Let's move on.
  9. 1 million? WTF would anyone offer that much for any Rangers player? their so desperate for cash surely teams will be taking the p*ss?
  10. That was an amazingly enjoyable watch. Better than the 4 nil score was Ian Black. He got put on his arse after 5 mins to a rapturous cheer. Then got booked for his usual lack of discipline before being subbed halfway through the 1st half for no other reason than he was shocking. Absolutely loved that moment.
  11. Another day, another laugh. Liquidators BDO are investigating if they are due any of the Telfer £200k, since the "old club" were involved in training him for most of his 10 years.
  12. The board have called his bluff with this announcement. After his avoidance of the questions on Friday, now every fan knows that he is trying to leave, but making sure he gets a pay off. Surely even the thickest of Supper Ally fans will see this as treason? 10 staff lose their jobs last week. Meanwhile this fucking chancer is negotiating a pay rise for handing in his notice? He's got more neck than a giraffe. I think Gordon Smith is a total prick, but this was a great article on the mess http://www.sundaypost.com/sport/columnists/gordon-smith/gordon-smith-sends-open-letter-to-mccoist-1.736263
  13. From my limited time seeing us this season, that's been the case. Starting to get a hint of what being an Arsenal fan is like. 60-70 minutes of sterile domination before giving away a gift or two to the opposition. Even games we've won, we've been one mistake away from points dropped. The most annoying factor for me is the reaction to their goals. We all of a sudden turn into a team desperate for every ball. Where the fuck is that spirit when we are level? instead of just coasting along as if "yeah, we know we're better, we'll score eventually" I know defence is an obvious issue, but Up front seems a bit all over the place. its as if our grand attacking plan is to have 5 forwards, with whatever shape they fancy. So we end up with Rooney crossing into the box for pawlett instead of the opposite. Last season Rooney was the finisher, staying in and around box to be supplied by McGinn wide, or pawlett from deep. Now we have goodwilliie, pawlett, Rooney, McGinn and even Hayes all popping up in the same places.
  14. As someone else said, it was so predictable and that makes it all the more galling. 1st goal, I don't know what the f**k Reynolds is doing. did he get a shout from Brown? he gets into the perfect position to make the last minute tackle the inexplicably does absolutely f**k all. 2nd goal considine was piss poor. not sure what he was doing. for a corner at that point in the game the marking was horrendous. I've not got to any games this season due to a new little one, so all I can go on is the TV games which don't always give the best indication. Is it just me, or is Robson really struggling this season? he looks so ponderous on the ball compared to last season. Legs finally gone? McGinn had also been fairly disappointing but that's probably more down to having set such a high standard previously.
  15. That odious little cunt Chick young said before the draw yesterday a potential old firm semi was a 'shot in the arm' for Scottish football. Was delighted that Richard Gordon immediately took him to task about it saying it was nonsense and Dons, Utd, Hibs, killie fans etc couldn't care less about an old firm game. the pointless little fuckwits claimed it would bring interest back to our game from a worldwide audience.
  16. Fuck me. This is shambolic tonight.
  17. I know you're not supposed to criticize him on here, but fucksake langfield. Shat it at the goal. Taylor made a cunt of things before that but a keeper should be out and right through the forward there.
  18. Salmond has to go, as this was a winnable vote but he focused his campaign on Saltire waving, pride in our country vote, who would probably vote YES anyway. If he'd spent more time and effort showing how he thought it could be managed financially he might have swayed the borderline NO vote. In the end, as predicted by a lot of folk, the street party YES folk were the vocal minority but as they'd been painted as a massive movement growing in momentum it makes it harder for them to take the result. Using minority here seems harsh for 45% but I guess it's technically correct. The result realistically shows Salmond's campaign won over next to no-one as the 55/45 split was how it pretty much was at the start. I know it's still quite raw for some folk, but I find the language used today pretty disappointing. Admittedly it's mostly just social media but calling folk cowards, traitors etc because the result didn't go your way is uncalled for. The country decided, thankfully most of the country turned out and had their say for a change, and that's how democracy works. To abuse someone because they couldn't quite risk (in their eyes) they're families IMMEDIATE future on hopes and aspirations is not on. I keep thinking back to the first televised debate, when Salmond knew he'd be asked about currency and didn't bother trying to provide an answer that could have shut darling up and swayed the undecided. He immediately followed this with 5 excruciating minutes where he tried to belittle the NO campaign with waffle about them wanting to change the side of the road we drive on. It was his campaign in a microcosm; we wanted answers, assurances, we got attempts at cheap laughs. As for what's next. We all expect the NO 'vows' to be reneged on gradually in the coming weeks/months. How about we stop calling our neighbours names and use the energy to hold these parties to their word instead?
  19. First sensible thing I've read in months about independence. There's so many folk wearing t shirts with 'Yes/No' on them, and 'yes/no' labels on their twitter, Facebook etc profiles that decided long ago what they are going to vote and won't give a seconds thought to any evidence from 'the other side'. That's their prerogative, but as you say it then manifests into these folk telling everyone the 'right' way to vote. At least in general elections folk were a bit more private about their personal choice instead of hammering folk in the faces with it 24-7. I don't get a vote, now that I live in London (which is another bugbear of mine for another day) but I've been mostly undecided on what way I'd go if I did. At the moment it seems a choice between aspiration/hoping things work out on one side and fear of change on the other. The lack of proper evidence presented on either side is fairly depressing for such a momentous decision. One point I hear repeatedly on the news/social media etc is. "It's great just how invigorated the country is at the moment. It's refreshing to see." Maybe I'm just unlucky, but everywhere I look I see folk arguing black is white with strangers because they don't have he same slogan on their pin badge. As Tom says, I hope that whoever wins, the result is accepted without any more conspiracy theories and demos.
  20. Doesn't matter what Deila thinks now anyway, SFA have issued a notice of complain to Derk for "Causing a match official to make an incorrect decision by committing an act of simulation"
  21. it was one of those things I just always had, and never bothered cancelling. tbh the goal updates weren't even the most useful thing about it. cup draws, TV schedules and signings were the handiest. If the other person is out there, fancy meeting up once a quarter and going to Nandos with the £11.99 we're saving?
  22. Ha! Just found out that only myself and one other person were still subscribed! So the service has been cancelled.
  23. I subscribed (I think) through the AFC website years ago, and pay £11.99 quarterly. I got the usual goal and HT/FT updates thought the Sociadad game, but got nothing at all on Sunday. Then there was a refund in my bank today from Perform media for £11.99 Has the service been discontinued? Anyone else use this service?
  24. Let's just hope our players are a bit more mobile than last Sunday.
  25. I'd be amazed if he lasted the season there. My worry is that as soon as he is gone, the usual media c**ts will start mentioning McInnes for the vacant post. Ex-player doing well, he's a shoe-in to be mentioned, which whether he was interested or not would potentially be de-stabilising to us for a bit. with any luck, their next managerial assignment will be worse than David Hockaday for Leeds.
