I think the only thing that would worry me about seve leaving is that it would leave us with only 3 senior players that can play centre half. Mair diamond and considine. Mair is not mr consistent nor likely to be available for 1/4 to 1/2 a season going by his injury record at both pittodrie and tannadice. Not that its in any way likely but this would be a cracking time to get anderson back

For me ferdinand has improved greatly in the past few years. My biggest problem with him was he totally fancied himself as the next beckenbauer. Vidic alongside him has been a big part in his improvement but i think as he's matured he's wound his ego in a bit and realised that playing to your strengths is way more important than for your own glory. With regards to vidic and ferdinand being fergies best pairing since miller and mcleish agree, dont think its unfair to put pallister and bruce up there as well though, at least in the same ballpark anyway.

I dont know the geography of aberdeen well enough to comment.

A few years back i was playing 5's in a tournament in inverness. One of the teams managed to get the then ict manager john robertson down to play for them. Little cunt to play against, really strong on the ball and was pinging them in from all over. Some players are just more able to get into a game quickly than others when coming off the bench. To me this would be a combination of instinct and, as you say, having enough upstairs when watching from the sidelines to figure out how to go about the business when taken on.

Replacement for fergahun perhaps? The guy is clearly talented but the current hype is pretty much all based on 4 goals in as many games, the last two being pretty tasty obviously helps
