What i mean is he's in the job six months, had time to take stock and is now looking at how to shape the team in the manner he wants.
As for who he wants out the door i would hazard a guess at mackie and paton, maybe mcardle too
I would, thought he was never given much of an opportunity by calderwood and always left on the bench. I remember him on a rare start against utd absolutely running the game, everything good went through, then he was promptly dropped the game after.
I remember calling him christina for a large part of his time with us due to his apparent lack of balls. He was a player that did improve steadily and i thought he was very usefull in his last year, he got a lot more confident and took people on a lot more. The assault on hutton was the stuff that dreams are made off. Welcome back chris, i really hope you pick up where you left of or you'll be going back to christina
I'm quite curious as to who the critics think is the kind of player we are capable of trying to sign that we are not already. Ultimately the entire game in scotland is on its knees. EG The huns are getting outbid by championship fucking cardiff city for what can only be described a player of youthful promise but questionable attitude.
The whole club level set up in this country is at its lowest point EVER and its probably going to get worse (i dont think to much but only because there is only so low its possible to delve). Shit even a self proclaimed aberdeen fan in the twilight of his career isnt even that interested. Why? Because the league is shit. There is no money. There is no competition. The interest in the league is dwindling exponentially as a result and the only spark of hope that clubs can hope to ignite in fans is through the development of youth.
There is very little that can be done about the state of affairs until the financial bubble bursts down south (which is surely inevitable) or the old firm fuck off and allow the scottish game to be competed amongst more than two teams though it is possible folk may just not care anymore even if their local side can win the league.
Aye so its a way of figuring out the players worth if your wanting to sell but if you have the player under contract you dont HAVE to sell for that if you dont want to. Ronaldo wasnt going to make 80 million out of man utd on his contract, nowhere near it. It took that amount of cash to persuade utd to part with him.
Yep modric is indeed what used to be called a central midfielder before everyone had to be either defensive or attacking (i blame the americans for this polarised view entering football, it all started after usa 94). Modric for me is easily the best midfielder in england and in perspective to the inflated transfer market easily worth 35-40 mill
Agreed but i will confess to some anxiety in that the par for the course of a transfer window is that the majority of the business seems to happen in the last few days. This down to players coming to terms with the fact that actually barca will not be making a shock last minute swoop for them and being a bit more realistic in terms of wages etc. How it is is how it is but come the end of august the spl will have played 5-6 fixtures, we need to have the core of our squad in place before the season starts and thats only a month away
