I don't buy that for a second. I really don't, IMO our players are not being selected for this pretty meaningless away friendly (this is a jolly for the away support, i.e. lets go play somewhere where the booze is cheap and the birds are hot) because their club (who both manager and assistant had very successful and happy periods at lest we forget) is competing really well in all competitions with a squad that does not have an over-abundance of depth. This is a far more likely scenario than the asst manager of a national team that also has little depth vetoing any promising players on the basis that they are coming from the wrong club dontchathink? That just sounds ridiculous to me, can you honestly imagine that Strachan would tolerate for a second his assistant being so fucking petty? Re-reading the book i did for standard grade english. Its called the north runner by R D Lawrence and it's the true story of one man and his half wolf sled dog in 1950's canada. It's a really good read and having not read it in the better part of twenty years I'm really enjoying it.

I would drop russia for either bosnia or england tbh, Russia is a really hard place to go play. Also the english might be a top seed but they're a bit mince really and I reckon we could totally have them. Also i would much rather Hungary from pot two as they are currently below us in the fifa rankings. Hard to argue with the rest they have the advantage of not being that good and being close which makes away games less gruelling for squads.
