  1. Aye, 2026 is going to be a grim year. Yesterdays budget will likely see a huge amount of jobs lost in the coming months. A lot of renewable companies are in England and the central belt in Scotland, as Aberdeen took their eye off the ball and didn't diversify quick enough. Oil was always going to end, but didn't think it would be so quick and sudden. it will become very apparent, very quickly, that this is going to be a disaster for Aberdeen, but the UK will still be importing oil & gas from other countries for years to come. A bit like what we did with coal back in the 80s. I'm so glad I steered my sons away from the industry, althought it will be more than just oil workers that will suffer. GB Energy to save the day.
  2. Stuck at work and not going to make the game. £29 wasted on a ticket. I won't even be able to get it to anyone before kick off.
  3. We are ill equipped with the squad we have to compete in the league and Europe. I'd go as far to say it's ill equipped to compete in the league. For me the league is always of way higher importance. It is our bread and butter. Only a an opinion though and if you disagree, then fine.
  4. The point I am getting at, is that when the hun are on the recieving end of a bad call, or a perceived bad call, it gets very, very stupid in our press, as though it is a conspiracy against them. Every team suffers through poor ref/var decisions, but I would say on the whole, the hun get more favourable decisions than bad ones over a season.
  5. Aye, I expect some bad press to come the way of their chairman. We're not allowed to call it out, but when they feel hard done by, the story runs in the press for weeks.
  6. Britney Spears - Oops, I did it Again
  7. Has anyone gained from the budget? I work in oil and was hoping for a bit of good news, but sadly nothing. I reckon I'll be out of a job soon. Can see Aberdeen really suffering in the coming years. I don't remember seeing the industry this quiet in my years working in it and have seen a few slumps.
  8. Bring a whole to meaning to playing for the stiffs.
  9. Well, if Willem van der Ark, still played for us and scored the winner against them tomorrow. The headline could have been 'Noah Sunk by Arc'. I'll get my coat.
  10. The Livingston chairman has said that the SFA has admitted there was a mistake in their game with the hun, that saw them denied a penalty. That's cleared that up then and surely it won't happen again....
  11. Chris Montez - Let's Dance
  12. Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well
  13. Dougie Imrie leaves Morton to take over Raith. Billy Davies takes over at Morton on an interim basis. A couple of wins and Davies will be touting himself for the hun job again.
  14. We finished 7th, on goal difference. St Johnstone were adrift at the bottom, with both Dundee clubs below us on goal difference. It was indeed a 3-0 win on the final day, against Hibs, that kept us safe. Was it two teams from 10 that were relegated back then?
  15. £34 to sit in the Y. Mental.
  16. Any team is asking for trouble, when putting so much pressure on it's defence, but we stood up to it well on Sunday and Hearts didn't score. As I posted after the game, it wasn't pretty and we rode our luck plenty, but that made the three points even sweeter.
  17. My Sons are in joint first place. I was 9 in 83 and didn't really get the significance of that win. Was just another trophy for us, at a time when we won lots.
  18. Aye, very sad. RIP
  19. Second best day of my life. What a day and what a weekend. Glorious. I only wish I could have somehow bottled that feeling, after Mitov saved that penalty.
  20. I can't agree with you on that BUS. He has to sit very deep, due to us playing not to get beat, but he still puts in a shift and does a lot of donkey work. Like you, I'd like to see two up front, but just don't see us having to personnel to change too much formation wise at the moment. If we could get out of our own half a bit more and better decision making in the final third, we may well see Lazetic and Nisbet score again. I fell sorry for Nisbet mostly. Gets chucked on for the final few minutes to chase shadows and that isn't what he is about. The guy who sits next to me in the South Stand goes way OTT in his abuse of Nisbet when he comes in. Just some folk you can't reason with.
  21. Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies
  22. Liquid Gold - Dance Yourself Dizzy
  23. 28th November 1992, or 33 years ago this Friday. I had only just turned 19. Our line up... Snelders, Wright, McLeish, Irvine, Smith, Bett, Grant, Richardson, Jess, Mason, Shearer. Subs: Booth & Kane Scorers: Irvine, Shearer x3, Mason & Booth. We'd be winning the lot with that team today.
  24. Kool and the Gang - Let's go Dancing (Oooh la la la)
  25. Got tickets, but can't be arsed going. Just a sideshow we can do without. In South Stand Work Hame 2-2 Lazetic and Polvara.
