  1. Number of people who voted for the CGP: 42K Number of people voting for Labour at the last Council elections: 16K
  2. It wasn't the best of the proposals from the short list, but going against a public vote will haunt the council for a long time. Very concerned about various projects being binned (UTG redevelopment, AFC stadium, 3rd Don crossing).
  3. Binned: http://local.stv.tv/aberdeen/news/local-democracy/186596-aberdeens-divisive-city-garden-project-rejected-by-councillors/
  4. Correct, it would be far easier for the US to extradite him from the UK. If he goes to Sweden then the US need both the permission from the Swedes and the UK to extradite him. He has a case to answer and if he really stands for the truth he should be going to Sweden to answer the charges.
  5. You were saying that when he was still with us.
  6. It seems the Labour council are intent on binning a number of projects (3rd Don crossing, AFC's new stadium, City Gardens Project). No wonder nothing ever gets built in this city. Its the same councillors who have delivered very little over the last 30 years that keep getting voted back in!
  7. There is a very good piece in the New Statesman about the legal myths surrounding Assange: http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/david-allen-green/2012/08/legal-myths-about-assange-extradition
  8. They're not the best are they?
  9. Why do people find it difficult to believe that, despite what good Wikileaks has done, that Assange, just might, might, not be a very nice person? He should be punted to Sweden to face the music, and not use conspiracy theories about the States to shield some reasonably serious charges he faces in Sweden IMHO my honest opinion. As for George Galloway? Jesus wept, what a professional gob shite.
  10. Definitely. Preece was a much improved keeper from working with Leighton. In short, BigAl's lost it.
  11. He'd make a decent backup to Langfield.
  12. Man U to sign Kaka apparently. A few years too late perhaps?
  13. http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2896455
  14. This. I certainly don't remember anybody getting carried away when we re-signed him.
  15. Very encouraging highlights. Difficult to tell whether Vernon was offside or not but two great headers nonetheless. Young Fraser looks good!
  16. 30 years ago today. Aberdeen 7 (Black, Strachan, Hewitt, Simpson, Own Goal, McGhee, Kennedy) Sion 0 Team: Leighton, Kennedy, McMaster, Simpson, McLeish, Miller, Strachan, Black (Weir), McGhee, Bell (Rougvie), Hewitt.
  17. Levein played 4-6-0. Del Bosque played 4-3-3. Del Bosque won Euro 2012. Levein is a cunt.
  18. I walk past the gardens every day, there is never anyone in them.
  19. Dixon's apparently left the BBC, surely to fuck he's not gone to ITV - he must be fucking mad!? EDIT: http://www.itv.com/sport/football/article/2012-07-20/itv-announce-lee-dixon-as-new-football-pundit/
  20. Great picture, didn't know Big Eck and Willie were there. Wasn't a bad game tonight, the Dons played some nice stuff. Atmosphere was a bit drab though. Great to see Fletcher get a warm reception when he came on, but not quite as warm as the reception Rougvie got! Was that Clayton Blackmore at right back in the second half? Seemed like he's still reasonably fit. I was quite impressed with Paton tonight, looks a much better player these days!
  21. It'll be great to see Brian Grant and Dougie Bell again, and of course Rougvie but he's a well kent face round Aberdeen.
