  1. and again head coach is not the same as a manager. A manager has full reign over transfers, and coaching staff appointment. A head coach does not. You are hired to work with who the board tells you and whilst you could determine a player is not good enough and should be let go, the board can disagree and even insist they play. Heinze is head coach of Atlanta United First Team and will work with the first team squad in the MLS Glass as it stands is head coach of Atlanta 2 and works with the second team/ development squad in the USL Championship. As there is no promotion/ relegation in the MLS and Atlanta 2 do not take part in the US Open cup they are two seperate departments in the same team. Both will answer to the Atlanta Board and I highly doubt one will have seniority over the other as it would upset the business model.
  2. Billy Dodds appointed assistant manager at Caley Thistle. Neil Mccann currenlty the interim manager while John Robertson is on compassionate leave
  3. Head Coach is not the same as Manager
  4. Taken from https://www.essentiallysports.com/manager-vs-head-coach-real-boss/ 'A manager is a part of a football team who has complete authority over the running and functioning of the team. He has the autonomy to choose his supporting staff, along with the provision to add players to the team if he deems it necessary. He is the one in-charge, and he makes sure the team gets the results. Sir Alex Ferguson is the best example of a manager you can find- he made sure he got the players he wanted for the team and had complete authority over his first team selection, along with a select few of his supporting staff who used to aid him during training.' 'A head coach, rather, is like a teen studying. All though he is completely responsible for what he does in school, his parents dictate what he does outside of it. A head coach is only given the responsibility of ensuring his team putting a good performance in the match they are playing. That includes the likes of choosing a first team and training the players in specific sets of routines required for their position in the team. The management of the team is under the club board, and any player who joins or leaves the team does so on their calling, and not the coach. It’s like running on the beach with heavy ankle weights.' So the answer is 'no one' is the 'manager' of Atlanta 2
  5. The last time I can recall an angeing outfield player coming to the dons and making a real impact was a Craig Brewster. 40 years old but scored 4 goals in his 9 games and set up Barry Nicholson's equaliser at Tynecastle. Honourable mention goes to a 34 year old Paul Hartley (8 goals in 32 games) but under McGhee he was doomed It takes a special type of outfield player to keep going into their later years and whilst they can have a fantastic season age 36, the drop off in their ability, fitness and indeed attitude the following season can be (scarily) rapid making everyone wish they had retired from top flight football on a high. The smart players knows when its time to either completely call it quits, or drop down to lower league football for a few years while they work out what they want to do when they stop playing.

  7. It's easy to say you will do something in an imaginary situaiton, but often very different when you actually have to experince/ face it.
  8. Easy for fans of any club to say that when it comes to players signing for their rivals. Sol Campbell springs to mind when he signed for Arsenal. Death threats, called Judas etc. The cold hard fact was Spurs offered him about 75k a week, whereas Arsenal offered him 104k per week. £3.9million a year or 5.4million a year? Pro football career lasts about 15-20 years depending on your position and injuries but at the same time it can be ended with one bad tackle or an awkward fall in training so you go where the money is to make sure you are set for life. Sad fact is SEVCO and the Tic can and do pay more and 4 years playing in their reserves/ sitting on the bench can set most SPL players up for the rest of their life, unless the tax man comes calling of course. Think about what you do for a living. I can't imagine a situation in which I would declare a former colleague has sold out if they quit my office and went to work for a rival architects firm for a higher salary.
  9. It's one of the most lethal mountains in Scotland. In the many occasions my Dad was called out with the local Mountain Rescue Team the only occasions I can recall hearing about people being killed was on An Teallach. Think it might even have claimed the life of someone I played Rugby with.
  10. Presume it wont be long till Piers Morgan makes it onto that list
  11. Just dawned on me that Mcinnes is the first Aberdeen Manager to win at both Celtic Park & Ibrox since Alex Smith Personally I'm happier with that than the League cup win.
  12. soooo 7th 8th 3rd at the time the season was stopped Resigns with Motherwell 3rd bottom on a run of 3 points from a possible 24. Inspiring stuff
  13. 6-packs all round then
  14. P&J going with it too https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/2957020/aberdeen-derek-mcinnes/
  15. Not Joe Lewis related but this came up on my Youtube feed. Before my 'football supporting' time but the man who couldn't beat Theo used to run the Ross County training sessions at my School. Seems he is managing Rothes at the moment
  16. Alistair Alexander Think he was the commentator when I first started listening to sportsound back in the days when for some reason they weren't allowed to broadcast the first 30mins of the match.
  17. Manc OOT and Rico hanging on by a thread. I might actually need to make space for the trophy Rules: 1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served! 2. Only allowed to change prediction until closure of January transfer window as along as it is to an empty tally. 77 76 75 74 - MBT 73 72 71 70 69 68 - danthedon 67 - RicoS321 66 - Manc_don 65 64 - Wee Toon Red 63 62 - BigAl 61 60 - Jute 59 58 - Elgindon 57 56 55 54 - Tom_Widdows 53 52 51 50 49 ------- Previous Champions: 2009-10: Dave_min (41 points) 2010-11: BigAl (38 points) 2011-12: Snapper (41 points) 2012-13: Tyrant (48 points) 2013-14: 2014-15: Dandy (75 points) 2015-16: Dandy (retained due to no correct scorer) 2016-17: Rico (76 points - Flawless Victory. Nothing questionable about it at all) 2017-18: Tom (73 points) 2018-19: DantheDon (67points) 2019-20: No winner - DantheDon retains title following an independent inquiry

    Films

Went back to 1990 with 'The Exorcist 3: Legion' after finishing the book on Audible Managed to get hold of a second hand copy through ebay since it doesnt seem to be readily available in the UK. Given the 2nd exorcist movie had nothing to do with William Peter Blatty this is the actual sequel to the original and for me it pisses all over every 'modern' horror film. Also has one of the best 'jump scares' in movie history
  19. danthedon OOT 7 games left (Accies, Arabs, Brazil 1970, SEVCO, Tic, and probably Livi & St Mirren). Are they capable of getting 6 points from that? Rules: 1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served! 2. Only allowed to change prediction until closure of January transfer window as along as it is to an empty tally. 77 76 75 74 - MBT 73 72 71 70 69 68 - danthedon 67 - RicoS321 66 - Manc_don 65 64 - Wee Toon Red 63 62 - BigAl 61 60 - Jute 59 58 - Elgindon 57 56 55 54 - Tom_Widdows 53 52 51 50 49 48 ------- Previous Champions: 2009-10: Dave_min (41 points) 2010-11: BigAl (38 points) 2011-12: Snapper (41 points) 2012-13: Tyrant (48 points) 2013-14: 2014-15: Dandy (75 points) 2015-16: Dandy (retained due to no correct scorer) 2016-17: Rico (76 points - Flawless Victory. 20. Believe he is referencing SEVCO'S chances of a successful Europa League campaign
  21. Still a really stupid thing to do given it was only a loan and was still under contact to Hibs for 1.5years. But I don't think anyone has ever claimed footballers to be the sharpest tools in the shed. Anyway top 6 assured so no more fear of relegation for another year.....yay
