  2. I tend to agree with Manc, this is a player who had performed well on a very big stage so must be worth a few bob. The whole Foster issue for me exposes the stupidity of sections of our support some of whom would gladly give him away thinking that we will get somebody better on the same wages. In reality I cant think of one player in recent times who we have brought in who has even been of an equal standerd to the person he is replacing with the exception of Hartley, who is no spring chicken.
  3. Good experienced player who should help shore us up at the back even if its just for 6 months so no objections to this news.
  4. I dont think Jamie will ever get over his fitness problems. On that basis, its a no unless he's daft enough to take a pay as you play deal.
  5. Discussed the result with a friend last night and came to the conclusion that Brown and Knox seeing us getting tanked was, perversely, for the best. At least they got to see the glaring deficiencies in the team and we didnt put in one of our out of the blue performances that would make a first time observeer think that everything is ok. They will have left with no doubts as to the size of the job that faces them and the poverty of the playing resources at their disposal. What they do to improve matters is anybodys guess.
  6. I took from the interview that he was trying to leverage a contract from John Boyle.
  7. Im not sure where your coming from MS. You seem to be suggesting that Brown would only be a 6 month appointment and there is nothing to indicate that this is the case. It may be that the board believe that a safe pair of hands for a couple of years may tide us over until another appointment needs to be made.
  8. The days of being able to win one in 15 seems like a golden period.
  9. Spot on Al. Lost count of the number of games that we won 2-0 with the scorers being Stark and McDougall, great times. As you say Stark used to get it in the neck off some of our moronic fans as did Bett (lazy apparently) and Connor (useless allegedly) a few years later. A midfield with those 3 and a ball winner in it would run amok nowadays (and probably still be criticised by some of our 'knowledgeable' supporters)
  10. Unfortunately Donindundonald didhimselfinindundonald. He will be sadly missed, but not by those that knew him.
  11. The more I think about it the more Im warming to the idea of McGinn. Whoever is appointed I doubt that there will be any miracles worked with our current squad.
  12. Fuck off with that
  13. At least we can have a weekend where we dont get beaten
  14. Well it couldn't have been MM's fault so somebody had to take the blame
  15. Its just a minor blip, by the time we reach the 3rd division well be firing on all cyclinders
  16. Dont be so negative. Course we can
  17. Yep, Considine 3 mins into injury time. Paul Hartley must be wondering what hes got himself involved with
  18. This pre season has been a total joke. Were doomed
  19. I would like to think so. Being amongst the top 6 best teams in Scotland is hardly something to be proud of
  20. "But I have great respect for Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne. He's a great guy who knows what he is doing." Donalds judgement is clearly suspect
  21. If this is the best we can hope for, were doomed. Feck of Smiffy and find your level playing for Falkirk with your Uncle Alex ya useless chunt. *I have never clapped eyes on Stirling Smith
  22. Jocky Scott in for Scott Leitch sounds too good to be true.
  23. Was the score not 0-0, I was there but forget? I read abou Charlie signing on teletext after the bells at Hogmany and was ecstatic, couldn't believe it.
  24. Only if hes as good as Iffel

Past performances at Rugby Park would suggest we will have great difficulty pumping them I fear I hope that McGhee expands his horizons and looks further than the Coca cola leagues where the vast majority of players are of a dreadful quality. Stevie MacLean scored a shed load in those divisions for feck sake.
