  1. I'm not talking about the judicial review. The government have decided not to call-in the application so the council are now open to "determine" the application. They haven't.
  2. Should it be a worry that the stadium still hasn't been determined yet, or is this just normal due process and does it usually take this time?
  3. Er, did I say any of that? Go back and read my post again, then maybe have a lie down.
  4. NKS, or the three stooges, believe they can delay the building process for nine months with their judicial review.
  5. If you live in Aberdeen and have the ability to go to games, there's little point in signing up. If you live away from Aberdeen or are an international fan, and the number of home games you make it to are limited, then it at least makes you feel good about putting money into the club. Signing up a kid is probably worth it as it's relatively cheap and they get a few benefits like a chance to be a mascot and two free tickets, but again if you buy them a season ticket anyway then it's not worth it.
  6. You heard wrong, he's not on anywhere near 750k. He HAS received two massive bonuses this season, in the region of 100k and 200k, but his salary is not 750k.
  7. Think he misses both the Hibs and Celtic games, going by the RedTV commentary when he got his booking to trigger the suspension.
  8. Not banned, just need to apply in writing to the council.
  9. And for a brief period in 2020, we'll have two stadiums.
  10. No I think the plan was to get both, he had been chasing May since last season.
  11. Well he's third choice striker isn't he? Rooney and a fit May clearly ahead of him. And the plan was to get Moult too which unfortunately didn't happen.
  12. Peaked in 2014? When we finished third? Last season we were putting seven goals last teams. We've missed McGinn and Hayes. One of them is now back. GMS, Stewart and May have all had poor seasons. There are signs the first two are beginning to find their feet. May hopefully will too. If they do then Aberdeen can only improve. We've now got four weeks to sign hopefully one or two midfielders. I'm pretty confident of a much stronger second half of the season than the first.
  13. Not convinced the Scottish government would approve it. Humza Yousaf was speaking recently about how he would be against new developments that increase car use. Not sure Aberdeen have adequately proven this won't increase car use (even if they are suggesting car use at Pittodrie (60%) will drop to 40% at Kingsford.)
  14. The old AECC site will be a no-go due to cost. Is it not estimated £18m-£24m for the land? No chance we'll be paying that.
  15. What's everyone's predictions? Not what you want to happen (well, feel free to say I suppose), but what you think will happen. Kingsford to be passed in full and stadium and training ground to be built there? Training ground at Kingsford, stadium at Loirston? Training ground Kingsford, stadium at Kings Links? Training ground at Kingsford, Pittodrie redeveloped? Kingsford rejected and we end up in Aberdeenshire? I'm convinced something will happen at Kingsford. The club have clearly had some encouragement to build there if the whole process has gone on for this long. I'm just not convinced they'll allow the stadium. I can see the council rejecting it but the club re-applying for just the training ground there and that being accepted. Stadium will eventually end up at Kings Links.
  16. All these ultras groups are young guys, teenagers. The Red Ultras were all older guys who were more concerned with flag displays. We need a young group who aren't arsed about catty comments from other fans at their chants and just get in with it. Likewise, they need some help and encouragement from the club. I don't agree the Green Brigade have been harshly treated by Celtic, it's only when they're getting the club fined for pyro and political banners, neither of which is needed. I've said it before, the best fans group in Scotland right now are Hibs.
  17. The last time Hibs played Aberdeen at Easter Road was years ago for a start and they had a crap team fighting relegation. They easily outsung Aberdeen at the semi-final. The variety of songs Celtic have these days - they seem to have a song for every player - eclipses what we have. Nonsense to suggest these clubs don't create far better atmospheres than the Dons support currently.
  18. Celtic, Hibs and Motherwell have no problem creating an atmosphere. If it's a cultural thing, then it's an Aberdonian thing.
  19. To the tune of the Napoli tune (and Celtic's Kieran Tierney song). He's our number three Hates the Huns like you and me The captain of Aberdeen He's Graeme Shinnie Oh Graeme Shinnie, Graeme Shinnie, Graeme Shinnie, Graeme shinnie.
  20. How long would a judicial review likely take? How long would it hold Kingsford up for?
  21. I'd be more interested in hearing about the sites offered by Aberdeenshire Council (which aren't a rumour, as they're in the Kingsford application). One of the sites is Balmedie. Maybe it's near Balmedie beach, and someone has heard this, and got their councils and beaches mixed up.
  22. Have a look at the work the AFC community trust so. It's not all about kids or about football. They've just won an award for their work with dementia sufferers. They currently have no "home" as there isn't room at Pittodrie, so they have to go around Aberdeen hiring venues. At Kingsford they could be based there and do far more.
  23. The more you post about it the more you defeat your own argument that it will be paid off in no time. You're now saying 30 years and £300,000 a year? And all just so we're at the beach, which isn't by any means an ideal location anyway. You don't need trains or trams to get to the standard of Pittodrie. Firstly, you're overplaying how good the transport at Pittodrie is. The train station is a lengthy walk, by car it's in a horrible location. I'm not sure I've ever taken the tram to Pittodrie. There are plenty of ways to improve the transport options to Kingsford without spending huge sums of cash. But you don't spent £6m extra on a stadium because you're worried that if you go through a bad patch a few thousand might not turn up. How good the actual stadium is and the atmopshere generated becomes a big factor in attracting and retaining fans. Juventus' Allianz Stadium is a pain in the arse to get to, but the match day experience has clearly improved with the new stadium (yes, they have a good team which helps, but they've generally always had a good team but fans hated the Stadio Deli Alpi). To get to Juventus home games, from Turin city centre you either have to get a bus which takes 40 minutes (and that's on a non-match day). Or, you get a 15-minute metro to Bernini station, then it's 15-20 minutes on a shuttle bus. Yet 40,000 odd manage it for every home game. 12,000 - 14,000 will be fine at Kingsford. We'll accept it's a bit of a pisser to get to, but it'll be worth it to see the Dons in a fantastic stadium.
  24. We don't have a debt, and interest payments to make on a debt, just now though. We will once the new stadium is built and adding £6m+ to it and saying "Yeh it'll be fine, we'll pay that off in no time" isn't a great business model and is incredibly naive. You talk as if £6m isn't a big deal to Aberdeen. It very obviously is. I never mentioned trains or trams. There's plenty of things they could do that are more realistic. For example one complaint is that these shuttle buses are only running from the city centre or park and rides, meaning people still have to travel to reach these buses. Build more park and rides, develop more bus routes to the stadium from other parts of town, link-ups with Inverurie and Stonehaven train stations so that there are shuttle buses to and from football specials. If you look at how Aberdeen's crowds fluctuate when they are doing well and doing poor, they don't fluctuate that much. The main angst isn't how low they go when we're doing poorly, it's that they don't go high enough when we're doing well. You mention the Paterson era. The average in 03/04 was 9,884. The average last season was 12,640. So call it 3,000 difference between doing well and doing poor. That's a core going to a crumbling stadium to watch rubbish football. If watching Ricky Foster and Zander Diamond didn't make them chuck it, then I don't think shuttle buses will. The amount of fans actually put off by extra travel to the stadium is going to be a very small number, and we're talking a couple of hundred at most, and even then they'll likely be won round. I don't see any real evidence that fans will refuse to add an extra 20-30 mins on their journey when 7,000 have just went to Murrayfield and 15,000 will travel down to Glasgow for a lunchtime kick-off.
  25. We'd make £6m back in no time? Yeh because generate that sort of profit regularly... Aberdeen aren't going to make money at Kings Links any more than they will at Kingsford. It'll be much cheaper, in conjunction with the council, to improve the transport links to Kingsford.
