  1. What have you got against league one? He also allowed their physio on twice to treat "injured" players and, on neither occasion, made the Well player go off.
  2. Flower of Scotland when the pipes were silenced and the stadium sang as one... obviously clutching at straws! We should have won it on the first half on Thursday as we had 3/4 chances to put the game to bed before their coach realised they were actually in a game and reacted accordingly. Hopefully Clarke has taken on board the way they dominated us for 3/4 of the 2 games and can come up with a plan to neutralise them.
  3. 3 down...at least Christie is anonymous any more.
  4. Aye was thinking the same thing. Ryan Christie has been anonymous. The Greeks have obviously learned from Thursday.
  5. Turned over to BBC 2 where it's in sync. Excellent commentary after about 10mins - "Scotland are forcing the Greek defence into unforced errors"...fuck the 17 y/o has just scored their 2nd.
  6. Yes, he's much better than Ambrose (and presumably your good self) but that's a low bar (not a comment on your fitba ability btw). Can't recall him winning anything in the air today or even challenging as though he believed he could win anything in the air.
  7. That's being generous. His early season form was just a blip, we all wanted to believe that we'd sent him out on loan and he'd returned a footballer but he's really not. He's not much better than Ambrose.
  8. Someone who doesn't want to be put in a home.
  9. Out trains will probably pass so gies a wave. Off to London to meet up with my son and then off to Melbourne on Sunday to visit my daughter...missing 3 Dons home games...I know, what a martyr.
  10. MacKenzie did OK today (he obviously wasn't very pleased when his number was shown as sub off, threw the ball down in a fuck-you gesture) but he's better than OK...since his injury he hasn't once really looked like he'd take on the opposing FB...today in the 2nd half he had an ideal opportunity to drive to the bye-line but hesitated and then turned back and played the easy option. Don't know whether it's the injury he's had or the muted transfer to englandshire but hopefully he gets back on to his natural game soon.
  11. Always worried when it's played to him anywhere in our half...yes, he can take a touch, draw a couple of defenders and sprint past them, but he's also likely to take a touch which bounces off his knee and we're on the back foot.
  12. At 1 point in the second half when we had a corner they cleared, he sprinted back and was able block their attempt to play it down the touchline.
  13. Just like in Elgin when he chested the ball down in our box, lost it because it's not a 5-a-side game and it resulted in their 1 big chance. He's good 1-1 in their final third apart from that he's a liability.
  14. My favourite player as a kid...first name George, aka Fuh
  15. So the oldest team in Scotland beat the youngest
  16. "He’s our top scorer" is a sad indictment of our current striker situation that someone who's missed a large part of the season is our best hope of getting a goal. Really hoping that his early season showing was what he is rather than the player we saw in Helsinki but a hae ma doots.
  17. "Very lightweight"...he'd fit right into our midfield, then
  18. When we first got Palaversa I thought he'd be our hard-man in MF, turns out he is as hard as a bowl full of rich-tea biscuits mixed with milk. As regards Nisbet I don't think it's anything to do with service - yesterday, he was played in down our left-hand channel, he was ahead of the chasing CB so he needs to get a good first touch, see who is bombing into the area and hit a decent cross, instead he goes for a half-volley which balloons over the bar...then he holds his hand up to say "Sorry that was meant for you" to anyone of our 20' strikers (obviously the last word should be in quotes). He's just a waste of a wage, giving Alfie Bavidge/Fletcher Boyd the same minutes would be much more worth while as they'd at least be trying and willing to learn and, maybe, even troubling the scorers.
  19. Just like if Pape scores against the Hun.
  20. Apart from Nisbet (who looked as though he still wanted to play for Hibs e.g. when it was played down the left-hand channel and he was ahead of their CB but then, instead of controlling the ball ballooned it over the bar (and graciously put his hand up in the air as if to say "sorry" that was meant to be a cross)) - none of our forwards were signed by JT : Gueye (who seems to be reverting to his pre 5/6 game peak earlier this season) and Ambrose who isn't anyone's idea of a footballer; then we've got Duk whose peak was under Robson's caretaker period (like Roos, Clarkson) and Morris who seems to have reverted to his indecisive nature. But, yes, we need a couple of grizzled old pros in the CB and CM area, short term.
  21. Doesn't matter who you support or who you "hate"...dementia is a fucking horrible thing to happen to anyone and you wouldn't wish it on your worse enemy. RIP Jimmy.
  22. There was a defender on the post so the lino shouldn't have moved. But he just guessed and fortunately for us, he gave the goal. As a former ref. - amatuer level, with no lino and sometime no lines - we were always told that if you weren't sure then you can't give it and he shouldn't have given it.
  23. Which is the argument that that goal in '66 was over the line, with Hunt immediately acclaiming the "goal". If the linesman (I know) yesterday gave the goal then he was presumably looking along the bye-line and taking into account that the post would have been in his eyeline, saw the whole of the ball which would indicate that ball was over the line.
  24. We didn't concede...that was a shock.
