  1. 36 Nothing wrong with an experienced CB joining though. Played 20+ times for Blackburn in the Championship this season ( I think ) and is 6ft 4". I do think it's unlikely but I remember his name being mentioned a few times at the beginning of this, or last season, can't remember. What about the lad Jason Lowe? Am I right in saying Brown said publicly we were getting him on loan before it collapsed? Or am I thinking of a completely different player?
  2. Anyone remember the guy Jason Lowe? Heavily linked to come to us loan in the Craig Brown era, well he's just been released from Blackburn Rovers, along for a name we were linked with early last year, Gordon Greer. A CB, albeit an ageing CB, but if we are being honest, could probably do a job for us in Greer & I am almost certain that the boy Lowe is a CDM. Maybe wee Brown has been keeping tabs on him? Unlikely that either will come, probably go to League 1 or another Championship club, but you never know.
  3. Barnsley just announced the lad Mallan from St.Mirren, or that happened a while back, not really sure to be honest, but not so sure they were in for Jack.
  4. Aye, it's becoming a bit of a farce regarding Stockley and these bookings, all for the very same thing, leading with the arm/elbow, to be fair though, the second one in particular, the young boy doesn't actually jump, and I think Stockley was anticipating him doing so, but still, it's very frustrating. And it wasn't too long ago I was hoping he'd start ahead of Rooney, if not playing them together. Doubt he will be here next season, who knows. The game itself though, ya fucking dancer  We totally outplayed them up until they scored and really should have been 2 maybe 3 to the good by that stage. Shinnie was absolutely brilliant, a really top, top performance y him, ably assisted by O'Connor beside him, his pass to Considine for Taylor's chance was inch perfect, he's very assured with his passing. McLean was full of energy also and worked his socks off. Basically, our midfield ran the show last night. Considine's tackle on Waghorn before he did score, was genuinely superb. I hope we take this into the Partick game, get a clean sheet, score some goals and generally play well, will definitely get the tails up for the Final.
  5. Agree fully, O'Connor, when played at the right side of the 2 CB'S, is very comfortable. And Considine is very capable at LB, he's worked extremely well over the past number of seasons and the fact he's now versatile in both area's, is good for us, I do feel though, he still struggles, and very rarely might I add, at LB. Only now and again, 8 out of 10 times he's solid. We absolutely need at least 1 CB, a Hector type player would be a huge bonus. I have grown to dislike Ash Taylor so much so, I wish Quinn had been given more of an opportunity instead of persevering with Ash. I feel quite bad saying that, because I like him, just not as a first choice CB at Aberdeen.
  6. According to BBC, Wilson is injured, only Bates and Hill are fit CB's for them.
  7. Aye Nips, I said when we announced Tansey it was simply down to McInnes knowing Jack is leaving. This is why I don't understand why we don't just confirm it. It's okay for us to announce Tansey, when ICT are in a relegation battle and in all honestly, look likely to be relegated. So why are we so against doing the same with Jack? Or Taylor, McGinn etc... for that matter. Regarding O'Connor, whilst he's clearly capable of doing a job in the CDM role, I would much rather see him at CB, alongside Considine in all honesty, if we bring in another couple of midfielders, we could easily have a back 4 of Logan O'Connor Considine Shinnie With Tansey and a new midfielder in the middle. I'd be more than happy with that, unless of course we sign a couple of known, steady, no-nonsense CB's. In any case, it's a big summer ahead for us transfer wise. Eagerly anticipating the ins & outs.
  8. After having watched the conference on BBC Sport there, I fully retract this, McInnes actually seems extremely riled. So much so, I envisage a Lennon vs McCoist type dugout scuffle
  9. It'll be all handshakes and laughs tomorrow night, guarantee it.
  10. Rated him from the beginning. In the game we beat Rangers 2-1 at Pittodrie, he bullied that cheating wank Garner and never let him get involved. Feel he's been hung out to dry slightly, I get the League Cup Final performance wasn't a highlight, but he was not alone and appears to take the most stick for it. Even the bizarre 3-0 defeat more recently to the Huns, anyone with half a brain could see he was actually playing really well until Taylor sold him out with an utterly pathetic pass. Bottom line is, he's a better defender and better player in general than Taylor and can also do a job in the midfield, as I pointed out a few months back also. Clearly a good player who we will see grow if given a consistent run in the team, instead of dropping him when results go against us, due to other players negligence.
  11. I think it would be a lot easier if Jack himself, or the club, just confirmed what we already know, in that he won't be renewing his contract. We've already announced Greg Tansey signing, so don't see why it should matter to us or Jack, if we do the same. He could easily say he's not staying, but either genuinely hasn't decided where he's going or just announce he's going to the Huns. I genuinely couldn't care less if that is where he goes. He's not a captain, and he's only really bothered to turn up more recently. I have no doubt he's a steady, decent SPFL midfielder, when you consider what else is out there, but he's not a patch on the Severin's, Nicholson's, Heikkinen's etc.... Plus, as I've alluded too, we already replaced him months ago, with Tansey, who's probably more of a goal threat, better passer and generally a better player, although he lacks the same bite that Jack brings. I don't really feel we are weakened when Jack goes, plus it'll mean Shinnie will be the permanent captain and alongside Tansey, it's pretty much as you were, if not slightly more creative.
  12. And all bizarre goals as well. Last 10 mins vs Sevco and opening 10 mins vs VicTims. Add to that purely avoidable goals vs St Johnstone, makes for grim reading.
  13. Controversy incoming. I don't want Ash Taylor wearing a red shirt again. I am going to say, let's try a 3-5-2 Lewis O'Connor Considine Renolds Logan Shinnie McGinn McLean Hayes Rooney Stockley I have done a pretty abysmal job at trying to make it the shape I was looking for, but you get the jest. Logan & Shinnie are both good going forward and getting crosses in to the box, but they are also both good full backs, who can defend. Can give them the freedom to get forward when in possession or sit as a back 5 when not, allowing Hayes and McGinn to move out wide. Or, when in possession, they can interchange behind the strikers in a little bit more central role, both good with the ball at the feet. Will never ever happen, but I'd like to try it. Even in pre-season, just change personnel by then.
  14. Jesus fuck, in the words of Pop from League Of Gentleman " You and I are gonna be good friends " For the record, having now seen Oxford Don's Loan thread, I agree, he's put some fine work into it, and this has now been moved into it, rather than "Supercede " it. Apologies Oxford, I am relatively new on here and wasn't aware of this thread.
  15. Obviously as the season draws to a close, we will see a few fringe players returning from loan, most notably Cammy Smith, Lawrence Shankland, Danny Rogers & Craig Storie. Also Scott Mckenna, who I think may already be back. Anyone reckon we will see any of them here next season? Are they still young enough to continue their development or have they had enough opportunities etc... to impose themselves in the 1st team squad at the very least? Danny Rogers for me, is more than capable of being a number 2 to Lewis, whether or not he wants to be back up though, remains to be seen, I think he made it clear last season that he wants to play. Lawrence Shankland looks like he's probably leaving, never really given an opportunity, despite what anyone says, 3 or 5 minute sub appearances is nowhere near enough to make an impact. But Rooney is our main striker, Stockley has done a decent enough job as back up, and even Miles Storey can't get a run and looks to be offski as well, so really don't see a place for young Shankland, which is a pity, as I was excited when we signed him. Craig Storie, looked a prospect when he played a few times last season, then just fizzled away and eventually been loaned to St Mirren, where even there, he's struggled to start games. Wouldn't mind him staying, but reckon he will go as well. Reminds me slightly of Jamie Masson, looked okay when given the opportunity, then gone, just like that. Could maybe have benefited playing alongside Jack for a full season, who knows. And last but not least, young Cammy Smith, I feel his best position would be behind the striker, in the 10 role if you like, started off really well at Dundee Utd on loan, then it went south for him, then by all accounts, is a real favourite with the St Mirren fans, could he be kept as a back up to McLean, especially with Pawlett leaving, or should we look for a more experienced name? Who knows, always liked him and perhaps had more hope in him making it.
  16. As am I, hence why I said it's purely speculation. They claim to have gotten several players right, signing for clubs, before it was confirmed etc.... I would have go back and dig out all of there previous blogs etc... If I can find the tweet. I also believe it's bollocks, I don't for one second think that McInnes will go and bring in several foreign players, but you just never know. In any case, we have a massive job in rebuilding what looks set to be several key players/squad members leaving.
  17. Thank fuck for that. Genuine relief. I sincerely hope we replace the players that are leaving with at the very least, the same quality, if not better. COYR
  18. Side note, no Jack today, anyone know why? Reynolds & Pawlett come in to the team. Shinnie & McLean sitting? Or Shinnie & Pawlett sitting?
  19. Listen, we cannot deny it, if we lose today, which obviously is possible, but unlikely, given that Hearts are shite, we entertain Celtic next whilst the Zombies have Hearts at home. We could be going to Ibroke with only 3 points between us it's literally unacceptable and indefensible should the worse happen. I appreciate I am being a negative cunt, but it's not exactly impossible, is it. Today is a cup final in itself, we absolutely must win, anything less is not good enough.
  20. A lot of foreign players were mentioned in a blog I saw on Twitter yesterday, can't remember the name of the writers etc... but they claim have to gotten Sviatchenko correct amongst others from several SPFL teams. They spoke of players leaving first, they reckon that Jack will go to the States, Ash Taylor will go to Hearts McGinn will leave and more surprisingly, they are of the belief that Logan will gone in the summer, no idea where that's coming from tbh. On to players in, they are very much of the opinion that McInnes has set his sights on a number of players from abroad. First up, they believe we are interested in a Slovenian Youth International by the name of Tine Kavcic. They also reckon we're looking at Miroslav Kacer, central midfielder who plays for MSK Zilina. To replace McGinn, they reckon we're after Haris Duljevic or Dino Hotic. And up front, they are of the opinion that we may test Ross County's resolve with a cheeky bid for Liam Boyce. Obviously this is all just rumour from them, but if they did get the other's right, Sviatchenko etc... then who knows. One thing for certain is though, McInnes does not buy abroad, or get on a free I should say. Anyone want to count how many he's signed that weren't British or played in the British leagues?
  21. This thread has somewhat sidetracked, I reckon we should all concentrate and go back to talking about big Zander coming home.
  22. Just imagine though, Taylor leaves, Diamond comes home
  23. Absolutely, purely avoidable goals, a lot of unnecessary flapping happening.
