I feel that way except cormack is easy to blame. Whatās gunnās job? What is cormackās?? Cormack hires guys to do jobs, I assume cormack isnāt directly hands on with the team, manager, players, and transfers, iām assuming thatās Gunn. i assume itās cormackās job to create a structure, plan, and vision. Then hire people to implement. Itās not working so time to reassess, which I assume means assess manager, director of football, and the structure. I assume cormack wants the intern to give him time to assess without having a permanent manager in place wondering what the fuck is going on. I know Iām in the minority, but what Iām assuming cormack is doing right now makes sense. like we all are good at, lots of assumptions.

But what were we sold on? Heās here until the end of the season. And heās 75 and semi retired. Did you expect a fully committed 24/7 manager producing free flowing football, us to become Fort Knox at the back? What are you expecting from a 4 month appointment? I think we have to be realistic here. Itās the same players and to implement new ideas/tactics etc with this group takes time. Hard with multiple games and limited practice in a week. Saying that, we had a week to prepare for killie and we were fucking rank, that is very concerning. And you are correct, things like the long throws, long free kicks etc should have been binned immediately and, much like you have discussed before, who is giving the manager support right now and providing insight from a disastrous season to date?? Itās not cormack, heās stateside much of the time, it is Gunn. Heās the man in charge of the footballing side that has failed with 3 managers so far. And is failing with warnock based on the start to his tenure and the same mistakes. Itās cormackās fault if he doesnāt make serious footballing structural/personnel changes because itās broken. im assuming a caretaker manager takes the team while an internal investigation takes place and potential structural changes. Canāt really do that behind robsonās back hence the intern. Just my take.
-
Itās not Rico Iām addressing. Saying that, Rico will debate and discuss, itās the endless bitching and moaning with little more substance to posts that is irritating. People are entitled to their opinion, of course, but discuss rather than just repeat the same endless moan. I am one that finds warnock entertaining in press conferences, but thereās a time and a place. Warnockās humor time has passed and I expect a serious and committed manager at these conferences now. Weāre not far from second bottom and based on today we dont have a team with any real fighting spirit. We also dont create a lot in games, plus we have a really poor defensive record. The bottom 6 will be a scrap and I wonāt lie, itās a serious concern being only 5 out of that relegation playoff.
-
The long throw can fuck right off too. Have we scored off one this season? Weāre not good in the air yet thatās our main and really only tactic from throws. Fucking stupid and ineffective.
-
Give it a rest man, youāve made your dislike clear on warnock endlessly. we are shit now and were shit before warnock. Itās clear he didnāt know the players coming in and think expectations on him from above arenāt high. The season has been written off and itās now rebuild the team, back room, and footballing side of things. Massive failure on the recruitment side of things this year, and really over the last two at least. You canāt make massive changes in tactics and personnel right now, you can only piss with the cock you are given. the timing of Robson leaving was really poor too, the January window was a huge disaster. I dont blame cormack, I blame our director of football or whatever heās called. The overseeing of footballing matters has been rotten. were poor in the air at the back, cost us the first goal, missing ruby or even Macdonald. What the fuck is the story with Macdonald? I also donāt see gartenmann as a central defender. From what I see we do not have a team willing to fight for the cause, too soft and the fire/passion isnāt in this team. Warnock himself said itās only really shinnie with that and thatās a massive failure on building a team/squad.
-
Zero enjoyment watching us. Better team ahead, donāt think weāve created a single shot?? What the fuck do we doing training? Belt it long and hope for knock downs, second balls, and scraps?? Shit tactics and zero success. Duk is shit too.
-
33 mins gone and pretty certain we have not played 3 consecutive passes. Weāre a fucking poor side and a horrible watch.
-
I guess for me he hasnāt had an extended run and given our complete lack of width he offers something. Not sure if hoilett plays on the right but I believe width will make things a lot easier for us. Mcgarry looked poor defensively but mcgarry and McKenzie playing together may be worth a try? Not a fan of polvara wide, but it is what it is. Another game full of central midfielders.
-
Very little chatter on this one, says a lot about the season to date. Hoping a full week of training will have helped, Iāll go with my heart over my head and say 2-1 us. Miovski and clarkson. Would certainly like a back 4, and if fit like to see mcgarry given a run off the bench at left mid in front of Mackenzie. Takes the pressure off him to defend, plus I really dont want to see duk play anywhere other than up top.
-
I still think if you put a good keeper and a good midfield infront and behind our defenders, and play a back 4, theyāre better than average. When you have a shit team and shit tactics youāre bound to struggle and thatās been our year. Put in Lewis in his prime, even a 32 yr old Hayes, and say a hedges at right mid, along with shinnie and Barron/clarkson/mcgrath, I think youād see a better defense. I think Macdonald is decent, not sure whatās the issue with him this year, ruby is raw but decent, and I think Jensen is better than considine (fans favorite but still a very limited player who benefited from quality around him.) If we can find a good keeper, and a right mid, left mid, and a physical and imposing center mid, I think we have the makings of a decent. Big if though to find 4 quality guys when arguably we havenāt signed 4 quality guys in the last 4 windows.
-
Normally yes but given we chose to do a review I still wouldnāt rule out Neil or any manager currently available. No point in meeting/hiring a manager only to change structure in the coming months. They may even get a new manager input, and iām sure the new guy will want to know what structure heās working under. not saying they will do what a new manager wants obviously but plenty of conversation and planning to be had prior to simply replacing a coach/manager.
-
Hodgson available, worth a look??!!
-
Agreed, our central defenders arenāt that good but three are under contract. Given our squad needs significant work, do we really want to start again with defenders too? I think we build on the defense and get a new keeper set in. I also think punting morris and gueye will cost us, unless we get offers for Jensen, ruby, or Macdonald, they are with us next year.
-
Well, figure itās close enough to start the thread and may get some more enthusiasm than the current season. So what do we need? manager - Alex Neill formation - 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 Iām going with the belief that we currently have 7 starters - Devlin, ruby (or gartenmann), Jensen, Mackenzie, shinnie, clarkson or McGrath, and sokler. 4 legit starter signings needed, plus more. Iād argue McGrath has been better than clarkson this year, but I dont think both together are our midfield solution. goalkeeper - NEEDED to replace Roos, doohan is back up right back - devlin, Richardson, SiGN gartenmann left back - think Mackenzie deserves to be our left back, one of our few successes this year, mcgarry as back up, jenson cover too as gartenmann does right back. central defense - ruby, gartenmann, Jensen, Macdonald - think thatās good enough, just need a legit and consistent keeper and midfield to protect and support them Right mid - TWO needed, starter and back up, vinnie as back up? sell morris left mid - ONE needed, possibly hoilett and mcgarry as back up, vinnie?? Donāt think Duncan is good enough, squad filler. center mid - sign TWO. ONE starter needed, plus assuming Barron leaves. Free agent Baccus? Shinnie clarkson or McGrath, and one other, mcgrath/clarkson and polvara as back up, sign another ONE physical/athletic worker so that shinnie and new signing arenāt run into the ground. Forward - assuming Miovski and duk are sold, I want sokler given a chance. SIGN one to compete with him to start, bavidge the third option and given minutes. Sell GUEYE. Iām assuming miovski, duk, morris, gueye, and Barron are gone, and we sign gartenmann and hoilett. Hayes retires. Mcgarry gets a summer to get fit and prove what he can do next year, been unfortunate to date. A bench from Richardson, mcgarry, Duncan, clarkson/mcgrath, hoilett, bavidge, doohan, Milne, polvara, vinnie, plus a new back up right mid and an enforcing center mid. Obviously Mikey Johnson is one of our new signings.

Thatās how I feel. I thought var was to highlight and correct clear and obvious errors yet it seems to examine to the extreme, looking for the slightest thing that nobody would catch in real time. There appeared no clear and obvious errors on the goals yet it took a fair time after every goal to get var seal of approval. Despise it more by the week. Itās not a good product and damaging the refereeing product, surely this isnāt a biased opinion??
-
Miovski miss on the right foot but we donāt pass much at all so create so little. Roll on the summer assuming weāre not relegated. horrible watch.
-
Endless long ball, fucking shit as usual.
-
You just brightened up my day, didnāt notice!
-
I can see duk totally effective in a salah right wing role (or left as he has been) , he has to be advanced and plenty of 1v1. Any time he comes deeper when he gets the ball itās usually dribble and lose it. Iād say a 4-3-3 with him miovski and hoilett advanced. Think hoilett is a left winger? Time will tell!

Last night was an interesting one. As someone who has coached for 30 years, and admittedly not at a professional level, you always believe when you take on a team you can benefit and teach players. Players get a clean slate and have the opportunity to prove themselves. I have to think that warnock believes he can get the best out of our players and while something may not have worked for a rookie manager like Robson, a seasoned pro like warnock believes he can do better. I think it showed last night that warnock doesnāt really know our players and obviously how can he really? Heās learning quickly that morris is shite for example. The reality is that he doesnāt have the time to experiment or we are sucked into a relegation battle and I suppose he has to trust the judgment of leven/Gunn who can tell him when and why weāve been piss this season. It really is a crash course 4 month season for warnock and ever point matters. have to assume that last night was the end of a back 3?
-
While I agree with the majority of what you say, you canāt hire a manager then tell him he canāt play players because they are shit. Or hire him and say he canāt play certain players in positions, or canāt play certain formations. Especially a guy with the experience of warnock. You have to give him professional respect and some sort of autonomy. Unless itās a contract issue and a player is playing with the u18s or the likes (like McKenna at one point w forest), if the player is fit and training you kinda have to let the guy you hired to do the job do the job. He obviously saw things in training hence the lineup. Can you see leven, a young guy who has never been a manager, tell him what to do? Or Gunn? If you hire a manager you have to let him pick the side and formation. we clearly have holes in the squad so he improvised, it didnāt come off. I canāt fault him for that. At least he didnāt wait until the last 10 mins to make changes. I will fault him for the long ball shit, that doomed Robson and thatās something I hope we see less and less. The problem is obviously that every point counts, and itās two more lost and warnock doesnāt have much time to experiment or learn from games. Iāve written off the season, think weāll be lucky to make top 6. Donāt see us relegated and just want us to get whatever club assessment done and to get a new guy in. Our squad is really poor, roll on the summer.
-
In all fairness, tell var to fuck off and itās 4-4. Without var their 4th stands. Then again, miovskiās goal was initially called offside. There are still fouls, re the pull on gartenmann at the corner in the cup semi for example, that donāt get given. Var isnāt clearing up issues, itās not reviewing them all, so the inconsistency and missed or wrong calls still exist. But we now, as Iāve said before, get var goals where they wouldnāt exist without var. Var is not helping at all and making things worse, including enjoyment. Can anyone say itās made the game better?? How can you honestly and subjectively back it?
-
Thing is, can you honestly tell where the defenders elbow is pointing? All depends on the angle you view from. Itās a farce, because I always thought clear and obvious were specific terms in the rule? regardless, fucking hate var, every game itās a fucking issue.
-
So what exactly is the offside rule? If itās unclear advantage to the attacker? Or it has to be a clear and obvious error to change a decision. Didnāt see it but commentary said it was a good goal??!!
-
Not watching. Started 3-5-2 before going the 4-2-3-1?? Or a normal 4-4-2??
